The dimensions are 182 3/4" x 29 1/4"tall x 5 1/2" This is a great looking railing with an aged painted patina and finish. This is an original front porch railing that was between two masonry columns that was removed from an early 20th century Victorian home in Quincy. IL. 3 Antique White Pnted Porch Turnings Weathered Naturally to Create Modern Decor.
Tonight's Auction is a group of 3 Antique Balusters- Spindles with chipping white paint and that real rustic look that years have done to them with weathering naturally. Most likely from a tapered outside railing(because of the taper on the turnings end) that belonged to a very old home. They measure about 19 inches long and 1 3\4 inches on the square ends. Great craft and decorating ideas very much in demand in these modern times for old and crude items that time has made ever so slowly and beautifully. Antique Vintage Victorian Wood Architectural Porch Railing Balustrade Fence 114"
This auction is for one(1) antique vintage victorian wooden architectural porch spindled fence rail balustrade. It was removed from our 1896 Victorian home as part of a remodeling project. I have no idea in what year this particular porch balustrade was installed on the house. Meaning no way for me to know whether it was an original or a replacement somewhere down the line. I only know the year the house was built, and that the rails were here when we bought it. It is 114 inches long. The top and bottom rails that are held together by the balusters are 3.5" wide. There are 14 spindles that make up the balustrade, with 6 13/16" gaps between each one. The squared-off portions of each spindle are 1 3/8" x 1 3/8" Each spindle/baluster is 26.5" tall. From the top of the top rail to the bottom of the bottom rail, the height ... moreof this piece is 29.5" I've also included pictures of the house when it was still installed before we removed it. If interested, I will also be listing another very similar balustrade from a different area of our house, as well as 2 separate corner post columns(one of which is visible in the pictures in this listing) and a series of seven(7) matching exterior corbels. Old 14" X 2 1/4" wood porch rail spindles (late 1880s/early 1890s)
This listing is for one old wood porch rail spindle that is 14 inches high by 2 1/4 inches square at top and base. One end of the spindle does have a"v" shaped notch in it where it fit into the railing. This spindle is an architectural salvage that is over 100 years old. Actual railing came off a late 1880's or early 1890's building. It is NOT new and contains blemishes. Scratches, dings& other character flaws. White paint is weathered. 4 ANTIQUE Wooden PORCH SPINDLES Beautiful OLD WHITE PAINT Victorian Columns
Offered as a single lot are four matching 19th century antique wooden architectural columns dating ca. 1890. These turned and painted wooden porch spandrel spindles. Or balusters, were salvaged during the renovation of a Victorian era carriage house in Saratoga Springs, NY. Each antique spindle measures approx. 19.75 inches tall, with base and top measurements of approx. 2.5 inches square. The baluster spindles have a wonderful surface! They still retain most of their old, crackled, chippy white paint. The spindles stand on their own, if you wish to use them as mantel garnitures to flank an antique mirror or portrait. They would also work well if mounted together for a lamp base, or used as table legs. Condition is good. There is some light soiling and paint loss, as shown, minor dings and dents; nothing major. 4 miscellanous porch banisters(poor condition) three of the banisters are the same type and size. Measure 19-9/16" long. 1 has long vertical split in center part. 1 has very bad rectangular end. 1 has split and hardened paint. The fourth banister is of a different type and measures 17-7/8" long. One rectangular end is in very poor condition with a chunk of wood missing and has hardened paint. Seller thought someone could use for crafts or other use. Sorry. No returns.

Offered is a Vintage Lathe Turned Wooden Porch or Stair Handrail Spindle/ Baluster. At the time of this listing there are up to 25 available. Please check the"quantity" box for remaining pieces available. The tops of the spindles measure 1 1/4" square. The round lathe turned portion of the spindles are tapered for a nice nostalgic look. They vary in size as follows: 18 are 38 1/4" tall 6 are 35 1/4" tall 1 is 36 3/4" tall The top tab(that inserts into a handrail) is 3/4" tall. The top tab has been cut down in size on two of the longer spindles. And cut off completely from one of the 35 1/4" spindles and the 36 3/4" spindle. These are easily replaced by drilling holes where the tab was and inserting the desired length wooden dowel. Because of the nice tapered design. This Buy It Now auction features flat wooden balusters removed from a 19th century house in Mathews County. VA. This listing is for 25 balusters, with free shipping. While the balusters came from the same front porch railing, they are not absolutely uniform in size as they were hand made. They range in length from 23 1/2" to 23 3/4" and are approximately 4 11/16" to 4 7/8" wide at the ends. They range from 13/16" to just under an inch thick and weigh about 1 1/2 lbs. each. Four of the balusters have a smaller(1 1/4" cutout in the center. The rest of the balusters have cutouts that measure 1 5/8" Please let me know if you have a preference.
