Description This is a great set that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. They are made of walnut and are painted brown. They were originally part of a fireplace mantel. They have nice top pieces with fluting on the faces. The columns taper and have carved capitals. The bases have carved floral designs. Each measures 46.75 tall and are 6 inches at the bases and 5.75 at the shafts. Overall they are in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as they are antique. Wood Columns from an 1908 industrial building in Southern Indiana. There are 8" beams in 13' and 15' heights. There will be several hundreds of these available when the desconstruction of ths building has been completed by December. These would be great an an outdoor building or interior project. selling a wonderful pair of large architectural columns. These are a wonderful example of craftsmanship, very ornate and decorative, as found condition, the bases are both loose from the column itself, and on of the bases needs to be re-glued back together, slightly tapered at the top and fluted for the bottom portion, the one base does have a split starting at the base, some age cracks on the wood from age, complete some scuffs and scratches wear as you would expect with age and use, great as is or wonderful if you just freshened with some poly, these are large and measure 92 1/8" high the column itself, and it measures 10 1/4" wide at the base and slightly tapers to roughly 8 1/2"9" at the top, the base plates itself measure 12" wide and 1 3/4" high, the top of the columns measure 12" by 12" hallow ... morepole, does show signs of wear and age, highly decorative, great pair of poles just under 8' because of the size this will be listed as a pick up only but we will assist you in with anything we can

Specifics and Approximate Measurements: Hollow. 8 1/2 feet tall with base. 7 feet 11 inches tall- column only. 12 1/2 inch diameter. Top support is 15 5/8 inches square and wooden. ARCHITECTURAL ANTIQUES : PAIR OF VINTAGE CARVED MAHOGANY COLUMNS
VERY NICE PAIR OF SMALL( 19 1/2" HT. MAHOGANY COLUMNS WITH HAND CARVED CAPITALS: The overall condition of this handsome pair of matched columns is very good. There are some small chips on each capital. But with the dark mahogany finish. The chips do not stand out. The tapered shaft has mahogany veneer. The varnish on the veneer has aged to a fine stippled surface. The stippling is very uniform and of a consistent color and texture on both columns. One column does have some abrasions on the shaft and a small chip and surface crack at the bottom. Most of this damage is on one side, allowing it to be placed out of sight on the back when displayed. The hand carved capitals are in a Corinthian style. Each capital has a large raised oval panel at the center of each face. Acanthus leaf carving is draped down from each volute. If you collect ... morearchitectural items, you know that it is very difficult to find a matched pair of columns with the style and quality of this pair. The overall height of each column/capital is 19 1/2" The column portion is approx. 15 3/4" in height. The shaft tapers from approx. 2 1/2" diam. at the top to approx. 3" diam. at the bottom. The capitals are approx. 3 3/4" in height and approx. 4" square at the top surface. These are a very nice pair of columns, with very nicely carved capitals. Take them home with you, put them to some use, or just sit them on the mantel. Incredible pair of antique cast iron industrial square fluted columns. Each column measures over 5' tall(63" 12" square at the base, and 10" at the top. Deep fluting on each side, great honest patina. One has more paint left on it than the other. I'm sure these must date to before the turn of the century, as they must weigh upwards of 3 to 4 hundred pounds each. I'm told these came from a major salvage job some years ago in Philadelphia, PA. Very minimal amount of casting flaws. No cracks or breaks. A few very small chips or flaws, but nothing to speak of. This pair of columns would look incredible as is in an outdoor space or blasted and refinished for a really dramatic touch to any room. Don't miss out on this large, unique pair. Matching. Tapered, antique columns. Solid, quarter sawn oak construction. Guaranteed Victorian pieces. They have doubled, beveled, ring bases with a diameter of 5 1/2 inches. Tapering upwards is another beveled ring. Directly above that are acanthus leaf carvings. Then you have classical, ionic scrolls with a carved flower in the middle. Hemp reinforced plaster capital, a sturdy tapered wooden column, and a waterproof(I think polyurethane) base. They stand approximately 16' feet tall total. They can however, be cut to any shorter length to fit a variety of height requirements. There are NO signs of rot as they have spent their entire life indoors in a year-round climate controlled environment. They are however, also suitable for decades of outdoor use with proper finishing. There are 4 of these available. As they all look the same. I just include a picture of one. Each measures 8' tall. The base is 13" square and the top is 10 1/2" in diameter. They are cast iron with each one weighing nearly 1,000 pounds. All four are in good condition needing only a sandblasting and powder coating or paint. These were support columns on the front of a local school. They are not lamp posts. They are being sold fob where they are which is zip code 52627. If they buyer sends a truck. Pair Primitive Painted Wood Architectural Columns White & Gold Decoration
Pair of Painted Wood Architectural Columns Old estate find. These are two short columns that were taken from a house and re-purposed as decorative wood pieces- would work great as candle holders by attaching a small metal disc to the top to hold a pillar candle. Nicely Painted with gold decorative detail. Both has a flat rough unpainted piece on the back where they were attached. And one has a large crack down the back(see picture) does not show on the front and does not affect structure. I love columns to add a touch of architectural interest to a room or to"age" a newer home. These are wood fluted columns with ornate capitals at the top that are not removable.
