This ... morecame from a very old local estate; I'm sure it's over 100 years old. I was told that it was made by the old Tredegar Iron Works in Richmond. VA. It's a very heavy, wonderfully ornate decorative fence. It was encased in concrete at the house when I obtained it. There are J hook rods through the bottom of the posts. You could probably re-use them if needed, or just cut them off if you are using this for décor; as they are not needed for display purposes. This item is just the panel part of the fence. With 2 posts. There is NO door or gate function; this doesn't function as an actual entrance gate or security fence. As you can see from the photos, all 3 parts are separate pieces and would need to be reassembled/put back together to make 1 full piece again. The posts are sort of loose and would need to be put back together. The finials are a pretty fleur-de-lis style. This fence would be used for décor or accent purposes. Cosmetically. The iron has an old, vintage, weathered patina. It doesn't get more perfect than this! It measures 4 feet tall and is 5 feet long. Description This is nice piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of walnut and is painted brown. It has the original cap. It has a light but it is missing. The top has large bullseyes on 3 sides. The shaft is fluted and the corners are trimmed in reel and bead molding. It is notched for the step but is freestanding. It measures 48.25 inches tall. 7.5 square at the base and 6 square at the shaft. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. Antique Cast Iron Corner Porch Post Nice cast iron corner porch post dating to the early 1950's. Measures 7'9" 89" tall and each side is just over 8" wide. Very little rust on decorative mid-section. Top. Where it connects to the porch ceiling structure, has some surface rust. Bottom end caps are somewhat damaged by rust, and it no longer sits level. Any machine shop could easily make new end caps and weld them on, add a little black paint and the repair would be unnoticable. Nice mid-century architectural piece with lots of use left. Description This is a nice newel post that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of oak and is painted brown. It has its original cap with egg and dart molding below. The top has carved panels on three sides. The shaft is a recessed panel with applied wreathes and bell flowers on three sides. These are carved wood. No gesso. The base is notched for the step but is freestanding. The total measurements are 48.5 inches tall by 9 inches square at the base and 7 inches square at the shaft. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There are a couple of small missing moldings. Please look at the pictures carefully. Ref: 21430 Shipping. Ornate Victorian Era Mantle Columns to Repurpose~Carved Walnut~Shabby Elegant!
Beautiful old carved walnut columns that were likely removed from a Victorian fireplace mantle. It appears that someone later mounted them on walnut veneered boards. And someone slapped some paint on one. The paint comes off pretty easily…I was scratching some off with a fingernail. There is old water damage, but it only affected the backing board, not the walnut columns. They have chips and some damage. But would be beautiful repurposed into something else. They each measure 40” x6” x 3” In response to a question: How fully round are the columns? The columns are half-columns. As if a full column was cut in half.the last four photos shows the side views and the views of both ends.

selling a wonderful pair of large architectural columns. These are a wonderful example of craftsmanship, very ornate and decorative, as found condition, the bases are both loose from the column itself, and on of the bases needs to be re-glued back together, slightly tapered at the top and fluted for the bottom portion, the one base does have a split starting at the base, some age cracks on the wood from age, complete some scuffs and scratches wear as you would expect with age and use, great as is or wonderful if you just freshened with some poly, these are large and measure 92 1/8" high the column itself, and it measures 10 1/4" wide at the base and slightly tapers to roughly 8 1/2"9" at the top, the base plates itself measure 12" wide and 1 3/4" high, the top of the columns measure 12" by 12" hallow ... morepole, does show signs of wear and age, highly decorative, great pair of poles just under 8' because of the size this will be listed as a pick up only but we will assist you in with anything we can

2 Antique Ornate Solid Marble Column Capitals Architectural Salvage
For sale are two Antique Solid Marble Column Capitals. They each weigh 22-23 lbs. Measured Diagonally from corner to corner. They are 10" across the top(around 6" across the pinched in middle part) They could use some cleaning/polishing, I was unsure of the best way to do this so I left them as is. Some chips on both, mainly on the tops of the capitals. One capital has a larger chip on two of the top corners(see pics 4 and 5) The diameter of the round bottoms are a little less than 5 1/4" I will ship these in two separate boxes due to weight. TIGER OAK Victorian Architectural Columns Ornate Carved Fireplace Capital Stands
Matching. Tapered, antique columns. Solid, quarter sawn oak construction. Guaranteed Victorian pieces. They have doubled, beveled, ring bases with a diameter of 5 1/2 inches. Tapering upwards is another beveled ring. Directly above that are acanthus leaf carvings. Then you have classical, ionic scrolls with a carved flower in the middle. These are completely free-standing at 33 3/8 inches tall. Can be used in so many ways! Note that carving is on 3 of the 4 sides. Lots of surface wear/imperfections, but excellent overall condition with carving remarkably intact. I also have a second pair of smaller columns available. Description This is a nice antique newel post that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of oak and is currently painted white. The base is notched for the first two steps. The shaft is fluted with bulls eyes in the middle and reel and bead at the corners. The top has carved bulls eyes on three sides. The base is notched for the step but is freestanding. The total measurements are 58 inches tall by 8.5 inches at the base and 7 inches at the shaft. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. Antique cherry CARVED NEWEL POST ornate vintage VICTORIAN
Hello again. Fellow collectors! This week I am listing VINTAGE ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE. You are bidding on ONE VINTAGE VICTORIAN NEWEL POST. This was salvaged from an old late 1800's brick Iowa two story Victorian church parsonage house that was torn down. It measures 60" in height. Made from cherry wood stock. Post has been stripped very clean and is ready for stain and finish. It is missing some trim molding for the upper section as well as the cap. I used to have it but the pieces have gotten misplaced over the years and are gone now but can be easily trimmed with any other kind of old similar molding and caps aren't hard to find. 1800s Ornate Tiger Oak Library Column Victorian Carved Stand Tall Fireplace Post
Tall. Classic, architectural column. Original, salvaged, 19th century, antique. Slightly tapered, quarter sawn oak. Tiger striping is fantastic. Encircling bottom is nicely beveled& recessed trim around the circumference. Raised block base. Moving up near the top are 2 more small raised bands, again encircling the circumference. Above those you see ornate egg/dart trim. Beautiful scrolls at all 4 corners. Carved flower medallions on 3 sides. Other side is plain. Good overall condition. All carving intact. It measures 64 5/8 inches long with a 6 5/8 by 6 1/2 inch base. Some finish wear on one side of lower half. Top measures 7 5/8 inches square. Many other salvaged architectural pieces listed. ORNATE CLASSICAL EMPIRE NEWEL POST C.1830 HEAVILY CARVED MAHOGANY w/ Acanthus
Up for Auction. Is the Best Empire or American Classical period Newel post to hit Ebay. I have collected highly decorative and fancy newel posts for 30 years and with a need to down size for a move. I am listing my best newel post ever found. I would date this beauty to C.1830 as their is a similar highly carved example in the. Livingston- Backus House in the Genesee Country Village in Mumford N.Y. The newel column still retains its initial hand rail run on the top of the post. The wood appears to be a magnificent colored mahogany and the column has incredibly executed carving of Acanthus& Palm leaf motifs. The post measures 37 inches from the base to the bottom- just under the hand rail and 41 inches to the top side of the hand rail. The bottom mounting block is 8-1/2 inch tall and 6-1/2 inches on it's width. Their is a small missing ... morepiece of the carved detail. Which we will show closely in our photographs. Antique Ornate Carved Wood Architectural Salvage Column Top Or Display Shelf
This is a beautiful antique ornate carved wood architectural salvage column top which can also be used as a display shelf. I'm fairly certain it dates from the late 19th century. 1880s or 1890s. It measures 7 7/8 inches tall(20 cm) Depending on which you call the top or the bottom. One measures 12 5/8 inches x 5 1/2 inches(32 cm x 14 cm) and the other measures 8 1/2 inches x 3 1/4 inches(21.6 cm x 8.3 cm) Given its many fleur de lis and the way it was made. I believe it's French. There are no nails, only glue, wood pegs and splining. There is a 1 inch(2.54 cm) x 1/4 inch(63 cm) chipped off piece of wood in the center a few inches from the top(or bottom) One of the large pieces of carving in the corner has a scrape to the front(please see photo) Other than this. There are a few dents, nicks, chips, scratches, scuff marks and age-related ... morecracks. But overall, it's a great looking piece and is very sturdy. I took most of the photographs with the large part on the bottom. But it can be used either way. It weighs 3 pounds 7 1/2 ounces(1.57 kg)

I love columns to add a touch of architectural interest to a room or to"age" a newer home. These are older salvaged wood columns with a flat back that you can hang on a wall or lean against the wall. At the tops are urns in the detailing and running vertically on the front of the columns are ornate original gesso detailing of flowers. Each column is about 64" tall or a little over 5 feet tall each. They have the original white paint that is a little chippy. With paint loss, minor dirt, and time worn for a great patina.
