Hi for sale I have only two left Antique architectural salvaged wood carved porch Columns or pilllars. I believe the wood is pine. They are painted white and have a chippy patina. 2 soild ~4 sided pieces. Photos 1- 7 show the full piece columns. 8-12 show the 1/2 columns. The second photo shows how I have used a pair in my home. I added hang hood and heavy wire to the back of the columns. I then added a heavy phto hook to my wall, then I hung the columns to the wall. I have 2(1/2) SOLD, the 1/2 are sold. Antique Mahogany Newel Post and 12' Railing - SOLID WOOD - Architectural Salvage
Available here is an antique newel post and railing. These are made of solid mahogany. No veneer here. You can't get anything like this anymore! The newel post stands almost 5' high. It is approximately 57" from floor to top of finial. It is in three pieces, a square base with a rounded stand, the rounded post and the top finial. The largest part of the square base is approximately 17.75"x17.75" There are threaded rods on the inside that connect the base and post together, the finial sits on top. There are specks of white paint around the newel post. I will let the buyer decide how to remove it. This newel post is meant to be at the bottom of a staircase. The railing is 12' long and approximately 5.5" wide. It is also made of solid mahogany. The bottom of the railing mounts flush onto the newel post. Antique Wood Carved Column table/stand plant Shabby , Architectural salvage
Hi for sale I have a rare Antique solid wood carved Column. I believe the wood is either oak or mahogany. It is painted white and has a chippy patina. This piece could be used as an accent piece. Table, or plant stand. Only a few others online for sale. This piece measures: 49 1/8" tall x top diameter: 11 1/4" x bottom diameter: 11 1/8" square. The piece was handmade. This column is heavy and large. I put it on the bathroom scale and it had a weight of around 50 to 60 pounds. The column has a knotch at one of the top middle sections( see photo# 6) I believe this was put there so it would fit at a staircase. The wood has some slight cracks and as stated the paint is shabby and chippy. This item is smoke and odor free. Please e-mail me with any questions. The cap and the corners of the shaft are trimed in reel and bead molding. The top has bullseyes on 3 sides and Eastlake beveling at the corners. The shaft has fluting. It is not notched for the step. It measures 47.5 inches tall. 9 square at the largest part just below the cap, and is 7 inches square at the base. Overall it is in good condition. This piece has been hand-carved out of a single piece of stone resembling an ancient column found in Greek or Roman temples. The work dates back to the 19 90's. But the stone can be hundreds of years old. All the carving was done with attention to detail. Making this a small piece of architectural art. Old Gold This is a beautiful lot of very old carved wood posts with rich gilding. These are just gorgeous- could be French or Italian. Possibly Chinese- with dogwood-type blossoms and crosshatching. I don't see any sign of gesso; these appear to be all hand-carved. This set was clearly once part of something larger. Perhaps a chest or cabinet. All five posts have a backside where joints were made. Four are the same size at 21 3/8" long, the fifth is 15 5/8" long. All are about 1 1/2" in diameter. The quality of the carving is wonderful, and they are in good(though not perfect) condition, with a few nicks and losses here and there. Antique Architectural Salvage Wood Stairway Post
This Antique Architectural Salvage Wood Stairway Post is in Good Salvaged Condition. The finish is in nice shape with an aged patina. There is some minor wear. A few cracks and quite a few nail holes on the side that was attached to the stairway, see my last photo. However the post still feels like one solid chunk of wood, nothing is loose. The top has a different patina and it looks like something was removed from the center but it still looks great. This old post would make a great plant stand or base for a sculpture. Here's a Great Antique Victorian Bronze Fence or Garden Finial Standing a Large 12" tall and offered at NO RESERVE! It is in two parts. And the upper portion would have been anchored together with the lower one originally when mounted through a rod which comes out of the base. The rod sticks out just a bit so there is a slight wobble when standing. It would probably be mounted to a piece of wood which would eliminate that. An antique plaster(chalk ware) architectural salvage head. The head has had some small repairs(see pictures) A lot of times they are almost impossible to remove from old buildings so it isn't in a too bad shape. It is solid now. Of course you can fill the plaster at the back to make it more sturdy. I have left it as it was. It comes from the town Dordrecht in the Netherlands. Antique Pair Oak Colums Posts Architectural Salvage Mantel
This is a beautiful pair of columns made of oak and in very good condition for its age. This came out of an older home in Sarasota. FL but, the owners brought them from New York back in the 50's. They told me they had been in their late 1800s home and they didn't want to part with them when they moved. Overall Measurements: 66" tall. 6" diameter on top, 8" diameter in bottom. 19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE- 3 SALVAGED WOOD STAIRCASE RAILING BALUSTERS. CANNON BALL WOOD NEWEL POST. There is one large turned wood cannon ball-finial-top staircase newel post column/pillar baluster with original red-burnished paint, large wood column/baluster newel post for staircase with threaded interior at end(see close-up pic provided) measures approx. 25" long with the round ball top measuring approx. 3.75" in diameter, bottom measures approx. 3.5" across and opening where threaded measures approx. 1.5" in diameter(see close-up pics provided) All have wear, age, and patina/weathered surfaces, these are not vintage or reproduction pieces and have weathered over time and have seen use-please view all pics. This salvaged piece is in original condition with expected wear to surfaces and to paint, no ... morechips of significance, one cracks along top of cannon ball finial and one crack under the ball along the turning-see pics provided.
