With minor blemishes, discolorations and a few chips. They are all in sound condition with no evidence of any repairs or breaks that I have noticed. Price listed is for four columns as pictured. Antique Vintage Solid Wood Columns Exterior Weathered Pair 90"
Local p ickup is pref erred. I can also deliver with in 500 miles of 08505(NJ) for $1/mile. Please inquire about a delivery estimate before purchase. Here is a pair of big old solid wood columns(not hollow) They are w eathered but in decent conditi on overall. The bases show some rot. As these were stored outdoors for some time. I am leaving the bases attached for the listing. Since some folks may be i nclined to reb uild them; it app ears that these are all one piece. So the base is the same piece of wood as the co lumn. In order to remove them they wou ld need to be cut off. These columns are big and heavy. Probably about 200 pounds each. There are c racks and checks on them. But no major damage. Some of the tips of t he radius details have broke off. It looks like these were small pieces that were added to complete the curve(see pics) ... morethat have since fallen off. There is a little bit of paint on them but not much. I'm not sure what type of wood these are made of. These would make a great starting poi nt for a substantial pergola or archway. Or with a bit of repair these could be used on a porch. Dimensions are: base dimensions are 12-12 1/2" square(not consistently the same) top and bottom trim detail diameters are approx. 12" columns taper from 10" diameter at bottom to approx. 9" diameter at top-columns alone(excluding the bases) are approx. 90 1/4" tall Thanks for lookin g. This auction is for one(1) antique vintage victorian wooden architectural porch spindle post/column. It was removed from our 1896 Victorian home as part of a remodeling project. I have no idea in what year this particular post was put on the porch. Meaning no way for me to know whether it was an original or a replacement somewhere down the line. I only know the year the house was built, and that the post was here when we bought it. It is about 94.5 inches tall, and the squared-off portions above and below the spindle section are 3.25" x 3.25" Measuring from the top to the point where the spindle begins is about 14.5" in length(height) and the spindle part is 39.5" long before the squared-off part starts again. Taking up space in my shed-gotta go.These are hollow posts.The bottom bases were added on-they are not part of the original post.They are quite large-2. Are 7 and 3, are 9 inches in diameter. Stand 63 and 65 in height. The wood is solid-not rotted. I think it is redwood-so they are not all that heavy. I would pallet these up and load the shipper.

This newel post is quite heavy weighing 23 lbs unpacked. It is 51' tall. It is a hard wood and has close grains. Like a walnut or other hard wood. The wood is not soft. But dense. It has signs of age, a slight crack or two, nothing that would keep it from being reused. It does have a small section gone from the top of the post finial as seen in the pics. Lovely turnings on the post! The post is 4 7/8' around. I have listed the other newel post in my other auctions as well. FYI, I did not get the railing with these pieces, it is gone. Lot of 5 Beautiful Old Vintage Turned Oak Wood Balusters Staircase Columns The pickens were slim this weekend as far as auctions and estate sales. So I went to a favorite antique mall that always has an awesome February sale. Picked up lots of antiques and unique items to list! I also continue to list new items from the farm estate auction, with lookouts more new hardware pieces over the next several weeks. I am also going to one of my favorite flea market shows this weekend, so wish me luck! There’s something for everyone! Nopenopenope- I'm not finished with the farm auction architectural and hardware- I still have looooots of lots- it's like opening a treasure every time I open a box. I'll have new items this week. So be sure to check back too. What I have here is a lot of 5, vintage solid oak turned wood staircase balusters. ... moreIt's a matching set, and they are gorgeous, with a patina that I'd describe as a dark medium. Each one weighs just over 1 1/4 lbs, and measures 30 5/8" longest. That's measuring from the flat end on one end, to the"like a stairstep) raised end on the other side- like the ends on either side in photo 8. The balusters measure 1 1/2" square at the ends, and go down to about 1 3/8" in the center where the wood is turned. They are all in excellent solid and sturdy condition. The finish shows some wear, with one that has more wear on one side than the others. There's very minor scratches, scrapes, nicks and dings that you really have to look for. Two of them have rusty nails that have been pounded down sticking out one end- see my photos. I see some light hairline cracks from age and the dry winter- but very minor and no movement at all- these are strong and beautiful and ready for you! Please ask if you have any questions. Vintage newel post section from an old building in NYC. Not sure of exact age or type of wood. 12.5" tall. The base is 9.25" in diameter. The middle section at its widest is 21" in circumference. Some distressing(chips in stain. Crackling in finish, etc. that should be expected in a vintage item such as this. No major damage. Stained a dark color, but can easily be sanded and refinished. Great old piece to display on a mantle as is, or place a pillar candle on top of it for a unique look. So cool!

Antique chestnut wood newel post 48" tall historic vintage architectural salvage
Beautiful historic/ antique chestnut wood newel post. Post was painted black previously but has been completely hand refinished. Stained and polyurethaned and is in great condition! Exact age is unknown but is at least over 100 years old and still very sturdy! The bottom corner is notched to fit over the corner of a step(see photos) The newel post measures 4 feet tall and approx. 6" wide in the center section. There is a small portion of the circular rosette missing(see last photo) but is not noticeable at all. The side shown without the rosette is the side that the handrail would attach to.

Up for your viewing and bidding pleasure are 6 Vintage Wood columns/pillars. These once belonged to my grandfather that he hand turned himself for his dream home he was building in the early 1960s. They are made in 2 sections at the family lumber yard and will need squaring up on both ends because the person that bought the home did not want the posts and in removing them butchered the ends a bit. There are also 2 smaller pillars. The long ones are about 87 1/2 inches long and the short ones are about 59 1/2 inches long. These are a no ship item for pick up only. Thanks for looking

Antique Vintage Newel Post. Was told by the person I purchased it from that it came from a pre 1900's farm house that was torn down recently. He also told me that it was oak and believes it to be the original finish. It's in really good condition for being a hundred plus years old. There are a couple of blemishes from where it was attached to the rest of the railing including one crack at the bottom. All blemishes are pictured. I will also remove all of the nails that are in the piece prior to shipping. I just wanted to show it in its barn found state. This vintage arts& crafts style wood newel post has a tapered column and beautiful square cap. This piece(and I do have 2 others) are from an 1800's home in East Aurora. NY. They had been tucked away in the attic since updating was done on the home many years ago. Measure: 33 1/2" height; Base is 6 3/8" square; Tapered column is 4 3/4" at the bottom and 4" at the top; Cap is 6 3/8" square. A lot of character in this unique piece of history! Painted post is crazed and chipped. Nail holes where it was installed and damage to the wood base- see the photos. Top cap stain is crazed and worn from years of use. Offered is a very nice antique vintage wood pillar or column. It is footed and measures about 29 3/4" tall. The round surface measures about 10" in diameter. The base measures about 18" from foot to foot. I believe the wood it is made out of is oak. It is in great shape. But it has scratches and dings typical from a piece of this age. The surface of the top has a lot of wear. This pillar would make a great plant stand or a stand for statuary. A very nice addition to your collection.
