With minor blemishes, discolorations and a few chips. They are all in sound condition with no evidence of any repairs or breaks that I have noticed. Price listed is for four columns as pictured. Measurements are 7' 4" height x 5-1/2" square base and top. These columns are very eye catching with contrasting color and shapes. As all the elements seem to work beautifully together. They were originally porch columns at one time that have been cut down. The posts are 59" high with 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" square tops and 4 5/8" x 4 5/8" bottoms. The center section of the posts have a turned and shapely design. There is some old termite damage from the past. This occurred prior to the posts being stripped. Vintage Solid Wood Porch Columns removed from a home on the Charleston. SC Battery 30+ years ago and kept in dry storage since. The particular home/ address WILL NOT be disclosed due to privacy concerns. These columns have some life left in them. They were removed due to wood rot at the bottom(see pics) and had a short stint in a decorative setting for photo shoots and as plant holders in my living room for a short time. My plan was to cut a little off the bottom and off the top and re-use them elsewhere, never did it, plans change. They've been sitting in storage and I don't have a use for them anymore. Antique Cast Iron Corner Porch Post Nice cast iron corner porch post dating to the early 1950's. Measures 7'9" 89" tall and each side is just over 8" wide. Very little rust on decorative mid-section. Top. Where it connects to the porch ceiling structure, has some surface rust. Bottom end caps are somewhat damaged by rust, and it no longer sits level. Any machine shop could easily make new end caps and weld them on, add a little black paint and the repair would be unnoticable. Nice mid-century architectural piece with lots of use left. Selling Antique Porch Posts. 7 complete, 1 in half, 2 smaller ones. Also includes a number of post tops and bottoms. They have dado bottoms for the post tops and bottoms to fit into nicely. They in very good condition with the exception of the paint. Size is about 5 feet in length by about 6" diameter. These were taken from the basement of my home which was built in 1907. I believe they were original to the front porch or back porch of the house. But I haven't yet found any pictures showing me the original state. Antique Vintage Victorian Wood Architectural Porch Post Column Spindle 95 inches
This auction is for one(1) antique vintage victorian wooden architectural porch spindle post/column. It was removed from our 1896 Victorian home as part of a remodeling project. I have no idea in what year this particular post was put on the porch. Meaning no way for me to know whether it was an original or a replacement somewhere down the line. I only know the year the house was built, and that the post was here when we bought it. It is about 94.5 inches tall, and the squared-off portions above and below the spindle section are 3.25" x 3.25" Measuring from the top to the point where the spindle begins is about 14.5" in length(height) and the spindle part is 39.5" long before the squared-off part starts again. I've also included pictures of the house when it was still installed before we removed it.
