This a beautiful antique compote. It is in wonderful condition with no cracks or repairs. It has one little nick on the rim that is not noticable. It is marked on the bottom 742 Italy. It is a gorgeous stone with white. Cream and a heavy charcoal vein. It has two carved rings on the underside rim of the bowl. It has a shallow bowl that measures 10" wide and a small turned pedestal which raises the bowl to 4 1/4" tall. The bowl is an Art Deco design but its simple lines will fit into any decor. As you may know throughout history windmill have been employed for various uses: originally they were developed for milling grain for food production. Then to convert the wind’s energy into rotational energy by means of its blades, and even to pump water for land drainage or to extract groundwater with wind-pumps. The history of windmills is fascinating. But finding a perfect miniature(although this piece is pretty large) of a real one to place in your home as a beautiful conversational piece, is incredible. The main door with engines to close it and open it, the second floor with the railing the goes all the way around it, and a door window that looks like a small balcony on the side. A real beauty. Antique Vintage Solid Wood Columns Exterior Weathered Pair 90"
Local p ickup is pref erred. I can also deliver with in 500 miles of 08505(NJ) for $1/mile. Please inquire about a delivery estimate before purchase. Here is a pair of big old solid wood columns(not hollow) They are w eathered but in decent conditi on overall. The bases show some rot. As these were stored outdoors for some time. I am leaving the bases attached for the listing. Since some folks may be i nclined to reb uild them; it app ears that these are all one piece. So the base is the same piece of wood as the co lumn. In order to remove them they wou ld need to be cut off. These columns are big and heavy. Probably about 200 pounds each. There are c racks and checks on them. But no major damage. Some of the tips of t he radius details have broke off. It looks like these were small pieces that were added to complete the curve(see pics) ... morethat have since fallen off. There is a little bit of paint on them but not much. I'm not sure what type of wood these are made of. These would make a great starting poi nt for a substantial pergola or archway. Or with a bit of repair these could be used on a porch. Dimensions are: base dimensions are 12-12 1/2" square(not consistently the same) top and bottom trim detail diameters are approx. 12" columns taper from 10" diameter at bottom to approx. 9" diameter at top-columns alone(excluding the bases) are approx. 90 1/4" tall Thanks for lookin g. Selling as a LOT- this group of crica 1870 exterior fence post newels with LARGE finials. There are some broken tops- there is also wear on the bottoms of the posts. Overall there are six good posts with finials- these can be reused for a fence project inside or out. Great old form& and nice old dry white paint. Posts measure 41" high. The finial tops are 16" in height. The square dimension of the posts at greatest point measure 7" are 4.75" square on the main shaft. up for sale is this absolutely exquisite Vintage CAST IRON HORSE HEAD Post. Bust. It is large. approximately 17 inches tall and the base is 8 x 5 inches. It came from a Northern Pennsylvania Estate, found in the barn when it was sold off. I wire brushed some of the loose rust off but it has great patina. The detail is quite amazing. It has some damage and has a crack but it is not in anyway loose to split apart. It is very heavy weighing about 35 LBS. That is all I know about the piece. Couldn't find any foundry stamp.

Each column has been stripped down to its original wood. Sanded and primed(see before and after photos) A total of 4 are available; All four are 7 feet in length. 2 are turned with square tops and bottoms(top and bottom measure@ 5 1/2" and 2 are tapered cylindrical(measuring@ 6 1/2" on one end and 4 1/2" on the opposite end. Vintage Cast Iron Jockey Fence Post Hitching Post
This wonderful jockey hitching post is 13" tall and 3 1/2" wide at the bottom. He weighs 13 lb. 11.8 oz. There is a round hole on the bottom that measures 1 7/8" inside diameter and 1 1/16" deep. With a single screw hole on the back. The paint is clearly original but as you can see from the photos there are lots of spots of rust. I got him at an antique shop a long time ago and he has been sitting in a box for many years. There are no markings that I can find. He has a green shirt and cap, white pants with red undertones, black boots, belt, collar, and hair. The area between his legs is faded blue in the front and black in the back, and the stand he is on is black/blue with a little green. His left cheekbone isn't smooth like the right one but I'm pretty sure that was original to the piece and not damage. He is ... moreholding a black rod of some kind and that is the only place I see any kind of a seam except I suspect the arms were soldered onto the body after it was cast but before being painted. This is all just my observation to give you a better idea of what he looks like and to help you analyze the photos better.

Beautiful vintage all wood pedestal with a marble top and heavy carvings 20 years ago I had 2 of these pedestals sent to me from New Orleans while we were on vacation and they are in great condition today used in a formal living room only.This auction is for one pedestal only but I have two if so needed. Vintage Cast Iron Carriage Horse Head Bust for Fence Post Cap Here is a great piece for your horse lovers out there. Would make a great addition to any collection. Recently picked the piece up at an auction This piece was made originally to set on a fence post as the head piece and it obviously did somewhere before I picked it up. Was rusty. But not too pitted from the exposure to the elements for some decades. Just gave it a good spraying with WD-40 to protect it from further corrosion. Nice detailing on the horse head. The horse is all harnessed up ready to take someone for a carriage ride. The cap the cast horse is attached to acts as a great base for the piece and has nice decorative detailing on it as well. The piece with the way the cap was made for the piece sits nicely on any flat surface. Does not need to be on a post. Just would ... moreneed to protect the surface it is sat on from the roughness of the cast iron. This is a very heavy piece. There is some sort of maker/model number on the back of the bust where it joins the base. Appears to be BO 160907. Only damage I see to it is a small piece of the cast iron hanging down from the yolk simulating a leather strap lost some of its' end. Chip to the front of the horse's right ear, and some minor chipping of the corners of the base. The cast iron horse head and base stands 17.75" tall. 5.25" across at the base, and 5.5" wide. The piece is about 6" wide when you take in the horse's snout extending further than the base. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. These pieces are ornate with a few nice details that differentiates them other vintage hitching posts. They measure 4 feet(48 inches) tall. 7 inches wide at widest point, the base is 1.8 feet x 1.65 feet, and the ring is 4 inches around. They weigh approximately 125 pounds each. They were burried in my grass up to the post hence rust to base. Rings have rust but can be oiled. They are very solid pieces. The base can be separated from posts. Please ask any questions.
