Vintage Italian Marble Column Pedestal Plant Fern Stand 36" H White and Gray
This is a very nice old marble pedestal column plant stand. I believe it is Carrara Marble and made in Italy. White with grey. 36" H the removeable top is 8 1/4" square and the base is 9" Very heavy weighing 29 lbs. There is a very small chip on the top. And indescreet chip on the column and base. There are four spots on the top that look like flowerpot marks. I'm not positive but I believe at some point this was reinforced for stability. It worked. Gorgeous Primitive Antique Solid Wood Column Table Base Pedestal Shabby White The pickens were slim this weekend as far as auctions and estate sales. So I went to a favorite antique mall that always has an awesome February sale. Picked up lots of antiques and unique items to list! I also continue to list new items from the farm estate auction, with lookouts more new hardware pieces over the next several weeks. I am also going to one of my favorite flea market shows this weekend, so wish me luck! There’s something for everyone! I do not know exactly what this one started out life as- was it an architectural piece. Or a table base or something else- but it will be yours to decide now- it's a drop dead gorgeous piece. Made of solid wood, it has carved out ovals all around in typical column form. Both ends are unfinished- one end having a ... morehole in the center, and the other end has the same hole, as well as a smaller hole at the side of that base. You can see that hole in photo 13, and then again in photos 15& 16- there's a 1" crack that starts at the larger base hole and runs for 1" out pointing right at the side hole! Now, that end of the base has what appears to be very old and very worn green felt on it- I'm not sure why- did the former owner use this as a pedestal and put it on? I don't know, but there's still some left on to do the job for you. The piece measures 20 1/8" tall. It's 5 7/8" diameter at the end in photo 4(the end without the felt) and then 6" diameter at the end in photo 15(with felt) That end is a little different in that it has rounded edges and a carved inset that goes around just under the end- which the other side does not have. The piece weighs a he afty 7 lbs. LETS talk about the PATINA now! I'm saving that for last because it is truly the icing on the cake! It has a very very very worn creamy white patina for its last coat of paint(which seems to have been a while ago) and under that, you can see other colors too- I see tan, light blue

Antique ARCHITECTURAL Salvage Oak NEWEL POST with Old Chippy White Paint Size: 45 3/4" tall x 8" x 8" overall(all measurements are approximate) Description: This whimsical antique newel post will add architectural interest to your home- the possibilities are endless. These are often seen only in decorator magazines and are hard to find. Even in antique stores. This is out of a Victorian mansion in the Los Angeles area. This one is wonderful and heavy with nice thick moldings and a whimsical details. The old white paint is all perfectly time worn. Shabby and chippy. You can see the original oak wood underneath in the photos, in places where the paint is worn off. It has been indoors for all of it's life so there is no dry rot that I sometimes see on wood that has been out in the elements. Though the paint is chippy and worn ... moreit is not'shedding' as some others are. There are carved wooden ribbon applique details on 3 sides- so romantic! Please see the photos of showing the cut out notches on the bottom of the back side. They are pretty much all this way when they are removed from a stairway(see last two photos) This could easily be filled in with some old wood or you can just turn that side toward the wall as I have. Even with the notched-out area on the base it still stands alone and is quite sturdy. There is also a rough area near the top on the back side where it was removed from the banister. There are a few minor age splits on the surface of the wood that are tight and do not distract- just adds to its character. This one is flat on the top which is nice to use to display a statue or other objects.
