Sanford and Others. Published by F. W. Beers& Co. 1870. Louis E. Neuman, Engraver. Chas. Hart, Lithographer. Size: 15 1/2" x 12 3/4. Condition: Light wear along edge that was bound into the atlas. With 5 small holes in the margin from the binding stitching. Lightly yellowed, a little foxing. Light creasing in margins, a few short edge nicks. In good condition. Clean. Colors bright. Guaranteed original from 1870. A nice antique map that would look great framed!

Large 1857 Official Map/Atlas of Worcester County. Massachusetts Published by Wm. E. Baker& Co. under the direction of Henry F. Walling. Sup. of the State Map; and drafted by T. W. Baker, Draughtsman. This is the kind of map that used to hang in courthouses and lawyers' offices. The map is backed by an extremely fine-woven linen cloth that is largely responsible for its survival. Size is 64" wide by 63" tall. Not including the wooden frames at top& bottom. Top support rod is 70" long. Includes individual inset maps and business directories for every town in the county. Includes county geologic map. Overall statistics for the county, and table of distances between all towns. Includes inset etchings of several major facilities such as Lincoln Asylum. Condition is better than what you could expect for a 157-year-old map. The linen is still supple. 99.9% of the varnish is there. There are some water spots. I have made photos of the three most significant areas of wear& tear; the upper ritght and upper left edges where the fabric is getting thin or ragged, and one puncture. Large. Apprx. 32-1/4" by 22-1/4" 1898 hand-colored map that came from the Atlas of Worcester County Massachusetts. Published by L.J. Richards. This is plate 26. Part of the Town, WARREN. The map identifies home and land owners.Streets, buildings, industries, railroads, etc. The photo's do not do the map justice. The map has a pale yellow background and not the white seen in the pictures above. And is sharp and clear. There are some minor tears on the edges. Two at the top that are 1/2" 1/4" The colors are excellent and framed this would be a lovely piece to hang. More Worcester County maps will be listed.
