A copy of the Index page with the date and publishing details is included for authenticity. It has a date of 1851 printed on the map. It is being sold as a single sheet not matted nor framed. As seen in the main pic. A large mapfocused on New Jersey and New York City area including Staten Island, Delaware River, Philadelphia and other places. Interesingly Sandy Hook is shown as an island at this time. Nice accurate detail of the coast line for the period. Size: The image area measures 19 by 23 inches on a 20 by 24" page as seen in the main pic. Condition: It is in Very Good condition for its age. Espeically for a folding map. It is blank on the reverse with multiple folds as issued, basically as seen in the pics. There is one short tear of about an inch along the edge of a fold and the bottom margin was clipped as issued for folding into the publication. Otherwise it is very clean on still very pliable paper. There is some light browning along the folds that is accentuated in the pics, which is not very noticeable on the actual map, see the detail pic. The pics are of the actual map. In good condition with brilliant colors and some loss most notably near top(Peterborough example is most significant) with bends and ripples and tape on backing near lower edge. The second picture is from their map and the same information on this one but has better clarity as my camera was out of focus for that area. The ultimate feature wall piece. Here's a rare. Fantastic& large antique Merrimack County New Hampshire Map. Measures 63" x 63" You will receive the exact item that you see in the 12 photos. Fascinating, cusp of the Civil War era look at New Hampshire's state capitol and surrounding environs. Includes Mount and Lake Sunapee, the Shaker community at Canterbury Village, pre racetrack) Loudon, all cities, towns townships and hamlets within the county. Many statistics, including populations, inter-town mileages, business listings, prominent citizens and their homes(including a view of the"Insane Asylum in Concord" The photos above are a huge part of the condition report& item description, so refer to them for details. Map hangar and scroll boards acorn finials are intact on both ends. All-original black paint, ... moreand amazingly, even the two O-ring hangars are still present. Linen backing very strong and clean, with the expected minor creasing and small holes here and there. Minimal foxing/moisture issues. Some minor parting and loss at the extreme upper corners as you can see, but does not detract from overall look or ability to hang properly. Very few other issues. Great shape, solid and strong fabric. Stored for years and in great condition, as shown. This is one of the best maps I have seen for this time period. If you need additional photos just let me know.
