1828-1891 TAUNTON, BRISTOL COUNTY, MASSACHUSETTS COURTHOUSE SURVEY PLAT-
Here are a total of seven different items all relating to Taunton. Bristol County, Massachusetts dating from 1828 to 1891. One is a surveyor's plan(18" x 24" made by a civil engineer named George A. King in 1890 showing the property being condemned for use in the new courthouse location. One other interesting item is a May 17, 1849 receipt for 32 1/2 baskets of charcoal for use in the courthouse at 25 cents per basket equaling $8.12. This money was paid to a person named Jotham. On the same receipt dated June 4, 1849 for the road located in Freetown for which an amount of $2.50 was paid to the surveyor and on July 3. 1849 another $2.50 was paid to the surveyor for altering the same lines of that road. Total amount for that particular receipt directed to the County Commissioners was $13.12. The other five items also seem to relate ... moreto other road openings.
