this auction is for 1 wood baluster salvaged from a old porch rail of a pittsburgh home that was being torn down. very chippy paint and many colors. Purchased directly in France from church possessions that were no longer being used. These are beautiful when used inside a home-I have seen them displayed around the master bed in many French Chateaus. Such a grand statement. These are solid wood and heavy and strong and in wonderful condition for their age. They have been totally hand carved/made and all the original old painting has been removed by hand to have all their rich appearance back again. You might still see some areas where the old paint remains however it is minor compared to what was removed. You can view all my large photos to see the fine details and workmanship. You can leave them like ... morethey are or repaint them however you wish them to be. They could be hand painted again very easily however. To me they are extremely rich in appearance the way they are now. You could also add a stain to them. however, again to me these are beautiful and rich the way they are now as shown in all my photos. There are openings. From age, and knicks from age which is totally natural and so so charming. They are a rare find and hope someone treasures them and can use them. They could be used in many ways. I have 4 sections as shown in my photos and I added more information to some of my photos. Up for auction is a(lot of 6) antique wooden stair balusters in excellent condition. They are solid with no rot but do have crackled layers of white paint and some nicks. Also there are nail holes in the ends(see photo#6) They are 18" in length and the square ends are 1 7/8" x 1 7/8" I have 20 of these available so if anyone would like to purchase more than 6. Listed is a nice. Circa 1880's, antique wood porch baluster, or railing piece. These balusters have many uses. The pieces are all the same, but if you turn them on different sides, you can achieve a different look. The approx size of each is: 21" tall, almost 3.5"one one bottom side, and 3 1/8" on the other side. Please keep in mind( if you order more than one) that the length might differ super slightly. you might have to trim one end to have the exact size. Antique Vintage Hard Wood Balusters Stair Staircase Spindles Lot of 26 This is a lot of 26 hardwood antique stair balusters removed from a building in PA. I am also listing two newel posts that were removed from the same staircase. You can see them in my other auctions. There are 3 balusters that have flat bottoms as opposed to the slanted ones that were going up the staircase. They measure 30 5/8' There are 13 balusters with the slanted bottoms(shown in the middle) They measure 30¼' There are 10 slanted bottom ones(shown on the right) that measure 26 3/4' The'turned area' on ALL of the spindles measures 18' The tops are 1 3/4" square. Two of the flat ones have a piece gone at the tops from being removed from the railing. I have taken a photo of that section to show the wood grain so that it could possible ... morebe identified. This auction is for one(1) antique vintage victorian wooden architectural porch spindled fence rail balustrade. It was removed from our 1896 Victorian home as part of a remodeling project. I have no idea in what year this particular porch balustrade was installed on the house. Meaning no way for me to know whether it was an original or a replacement somewhere down the line. I only know the year the house was built, and that the rails were here when we bought it. It is 114 inches long. The top and bottom rails that are held together by the balusters are 3.5" wide. There are 14 spindles that make up the balustrade, with 6 13/16" gaps between each one. The squared-off portions of each spindle are 1 3/8" x 1 3/8" Each spindle/baluster is 26.5" tall. From the top of the top rail to the bottom of the bottom rail, the height ... moreof this piece is 29.5" I've also included pictures of the house when it was still installed before we removed it. Antique Tiger oak wood Balusters hand rails mortise newel posts large pieces old
I have some very nice pieces that I took out of one of my houses before it was demolished. I took all the parts for a staircase. Everything that you need except the steps. There are 2 Newel posts, the housed and open stringer(very thick) all the shaped, not square ballusters and all the handrails, even the trim that goes in between the ballusters. These all have white paint over them. But can easily be restored. I have restored many of my own items, and I know how beautiful these stairs will look. They would cost a fortune to find a solid piece of oak this large! I also have tons of door and window trim, and doors too. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like more pictures and measurements. The pictures of the refinished stairs are not the items that I have. But look similar if they were restored. New INFO: Large Newel Post ... moreis 56.25" tall and 6" wide at base and 7.5" wide at top. The top has leaves carved into the oak. Look closely through the paint. Lots of detail and is in great shape. Smaller Newel Post is 38" tall and 4.75" wide. And is more of a basic design(came from the same staircase though) There are 22 angle shaped balusters spindles(for the stairs) 25" x 1 5/8. 22 flat end balusters spindles(for the top of stairs down the hallway) 26" x 1.75" Hand Rail is 136" long and is 2.5"x 5" Smaller Hand Rail is 8' long with 2 end pieces that are 6.25" long. Closed Skirt Stringer 99.5 x 8.25 x 7/8. Open Stringer 143" x 11.25 x 1. I also have a bad full of the trim pieces that go between the balusters. And some other trim pieces that came off of the stairs.

Lot of 11 turned Victorian porch balusters! approximately 1 ⅝” square and 20 ⅝” tall Up for bid is a lot of 11 antique Victorian porch balusters/spindles. These balusters are of matching design. The unturned top section is 2⅞” long. While the unturned bottom end is 3¾” long. Each wooden baluster has old chipping white paint. Note that these are architectural salvage items from a house in Beaver. PA and are around 110 years old. Because of this. They have flaws, dings, etc. that give them character. The bottom about 1 inch is often damaged from the nail holes(a few nail fragments remain) With scattered wood loss in that area. The top ends have nail holes. But with less evident damage. In addition. A very few have small chunks of other wood missing. The visible parts of the balusters are typical– I distributed the balusters on the ground ... morerandomly– without looking for the‘best’ sides. Lot of 38 turned Victorian porch balusters! approximately 1 ⅝” square and 20 ⅝” tall Up for bid is a lot of 38 antique Victorian porch balusters/spindles. These balusters are of matching design. The unturned top section is 2” long. While the unturned bottom end is 3½” long. At both ends. The corners to the unturned sections are somewhat rounded. Each wooden baluster has old chipping white paint. Note that these are architectural salvage items from a house in Beaver. PA and are around 110 years old. Because of this. They have flaws, dings, etc. that give them character. The top and bottom about 1 inch are typically somewhat damaged from the nail holes(a few nail fragments remain) In addition. This Buy It Now auction features flat wooden balusters removed from a 19th century house in Mathews County. VA. This listing is for 25 balusters, with free shipping. While the balusters came from the same front porch railing, they are not absolutely uniform in size as they were hand made. They range in length from 23 1/2" to 23 3/4" and are approximately 4 11/16" to 4 7/8" wide at the ends. They range from 13/16" to just under an inch thick and weigh about 1 1/2 lbs. each. Antique staircase spindles balusters 25" tall wood lot of 36 angled salvage
36 beautiful turned wood spindles/ balusters salvaged from an antique staircase. I believe they are oak. They are about 25" tall and cut on an angle. The square bases measure 1 3/4" There is one baluster that is taller(see photos. Baluster shown at left side of lot) They have a light grey painted/ pickle finish but much of the wood grain does show through. They are in great shape, can be sanded and stained or left as is! I have for sale a lot of antique/vintage white port railing balusters. They are painted wood. Salvaged from a victorian house in New Jersey. There are 14"X" shaped balusters. Two broken corbel brackets, and some extra pieces. The balusters are 15.5" tall. 8.5" wide, and 1" thick. The corbels are about 14" tall and 12" wide. My eBay name says it all.liquidators. I was an eBay seller back in 2000 and I sold to meet a financial goal. Life has a way of taking over such that when my goal was hit my inventory just sat in storage. Well. I have to admit not only did it sit but over the years I have added to it. Due to my fiancé in all likelihood having to move overseas due to work in 2015 and me tagging along I HAVE TO liquidate my inventory. And yes, I have that much that I need to start now. So, I will be listing an item auction style and if within a certain time frame it is not sold it is going to a consignment auction house. So, if you like it, get it while the getting is good. My prices will be rock bottom due to the amount of items which need to be sold. I really am trying to liquidate my inventory but I have to admit my true passion is architectural salvage ... morework. This I can't stop doing and I just love saving these wonderful items before the elements of nature or bulldozer claims them. These four balusters came from an interior staircase in a old Victorian house in Upstate New York. Two are 31" and the other two are 27" This does not include the portion at the bottom which would be in the base of the stair. They are in great condition and just show minor wear. 2 Antique "1892" Wood Handrail Bannisters From Old North Carolina Courthouse
Up for bid here. Two antique handrails. I got the two rails from a contactor that helped remodel the New Hanover County Courthouse, here in Wilmigton NC. back in the mid 80s. The original courthouse was built in 1892, and that is where I am told these are from. I have no idea what kind of wood these are made out of, Cherry? Walnut? but they are heavy. The big one is about 6'3" small about 3'9"long. Both are about 39" high. Thought about replacing the half pole on the big one, with the full one from the small one and making a really nice headboard.
