T his 1890's Organ Stool is in excellent condition. Having incised carving around the seat rail and the out stretched shaped legs. The fabric is a velvet cranberry color also in great condition with on rips or tears. Found in Maine Barn: Henry Miller Upright Grand Piano Circa 1890
LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY Found in the barn of a stately Maine farmhouse recently undergoing restoration this piano needs a fair amount of cosmetic repair to the veneer. And it was well-loved because the keys not only show wear from playing but also where someone in the family taped the letter notes to the corresponding keys to assist with learning. The interior is solid and may require some repair but appears to have not been opened to air or elements very much as the wood gleams like new and all keys and pedals appear to be functioning. The carved panels on front are in perfect condition and the work is beautiful! Henry F. Miller built some of the finest pianos this country has ever seen. Building pianos from about 1870 until 1982. NIPPON VIOLIN (CIRCA 1890-1921)
Nice Nippon(Japan)Fiddle! Very tight grained spruce.Back and sides are exotic wood of some type? I researched it and have since lost info. I will try and find out and revise listing when I do. It looks 3 dimensional in the light. The violin is set up with decent strings. The bridge is a little flat, Im a learning fiddle fumbler and I like em a little more arched. It is quite good shape except for the repair to the treble f-hole, which was repaired very nicely. I will include a bow that is good enough to use however if you are a real player you likely have one you already are fond of. The case is not included. It has good volume and seems to me a balanced tone. I play mandolin,not a fiddle player,but it seems like a real decent violin. Im sellin because I need to round up cash for a windshield in my truck which was wrecked in the snow earlier ... morethis winter. Good Quality old Violin Bow for Restoration. Great stiff old wood Circa 1890
Good Quality Full size(Exactly 29 inches long) old Violin bow. Bow is made from good old wood that is stiff and will be strong. Bow is in overall good condition except two slight cracks near frog end. This will be an easy and minor repair. The bow is Most likely an old Dresden bow but may possibly be a"Saxony" bow. These make great strong bows. It weighs 53.4 grams without hair. Will probably be about 58-60 once rehaired. I believe that the frog is Original to the bow. This bow will be well worth the effort. Handmade3 Antique Embroidered Silk Sewing Roll For Spools& Needles French or English* Circa 1890 This gorgeous sewing roll from the late 19th century is made of champagne silk hand embroidered with silk. Silk ribbon and gold threads. It was entirely made by hand with tiny stitches. The inside is lined with finely woven wool to hold needles. In the case at the end are 4 wooden spools of silk buttonhole thread. The spools are English, but the silk and embroidery look French to me. The floral designs around the sides are beautifully stitched. It all looks to be original. The outside edge once had silk ribbon ties. They are missing but would be easy to replace. The condition of the silk and embroidery are excellent. There are no tears. Missing stitches or moth holes. The needle roll is about 8" long stretched out and 4" wide. It is all hand stitched and the condition is excellent with no tears or lost beads. The base is 2 1/4" in diameter and it measures about 2 1/8" high. Enamel10 Antique Enameled Pre-Revolution Silver Thimble Russian* Circa 1890-1900 This solid silver thimble has delicate twisted wire rimmed compartments filled with colorful enamel and it has been lightly gilded. The Russian silver mark is th e 84 zolotnik mark indicating 875/1000 pure silver and the crossed anchor crest to the right of it is the mark for St Petersburg(c. 1890s) It also has the maker's mark. Probably for Otto Pettelius. It is gilded inside. The condition is mint with not even a needle mark and the enamel is perfect. It's about an American size 9(16 mm opening) and is quite heavy(11.0 grams) Some Russian enameled thimbles in this style are shown on p. 126 of Bridget McConnel's book The Story of the Thimble and on color plate 2 of Thimbles& Sewing Implements by Estelle Zalkin. FINE OLD ANTIQUE FRENCH MIRECOURT VIOLIN AFTER GASPARD DUIFFOPRUGAR CIRCA 1890!
Fine antique french violin made circa 1880/1900 in Mirecourt. Gaspard Duiffoprugar model. This astonishing violin was made in Mirecourt in late 19th century. Possibly in the Thibouville-Lamy workshops. It was made after the celebrated"Gaspard Duiffoprugard" model, a maker who probably never existed. Many of the best french 19th century makers used to make this model, like Vuillaume or Derazey. This one has been nicely made in this french tradition, with the characteristics of this model: the engraved ribs, the decorations of the corners, the castle inlaid at the lower end of the back, and the beautiful old man's head as a scroll. The woods have been carefully chosen, with a spruce of straight grain for the front, and two pieces of a flamed maple of horizontal curl for the back. The varnish, of a brown-orange colour on a golden ... moreground, is original. The carving of the head is a wonderful work, that we have tried to show in pictures. The violin is in a very good condition. With a little soundpost patch on front, a few other cleated cracks on front, and a little cleated repair at center right of the back. All these repairs have been carefully done and will not be of any trouble. The sound of this violin is extremely nice. A deep and mature french sound, warm, with a good projection, and baroque accents. A fine concert instrument which will be a great addition to the collection of a concert player, a teacher, or a good student. The violin comes with a certificate delivered by our workshop, including a $2700 valuation. Instruments of this kind are often well over 360mm. But this one isn't! Circa 1890 Martin 0-28 in Pristine Original Condition, with Original Coffin Case
Offered for sale is a Martin 0-28 from sometime before 1898 in amazingly fine condition…certainly the cleanest that I’ve ever seen. This guitar is entirely crack-free. And the finish is 100% original. To the best of my knowledge, all the parts(except the strings) are original to the guitar, including the wooden coffin case. The neck was recently reset at Gryphon Stringed Instruments, who are the finest repair people on the west coast. Upon their recommendation, it is set up with extra light bronze strings(it should NOT have anything heavier put on it) and sounds amazing. There are a very few light marks on the top and back, otherwise this could pass for a brand new 120 year old guitar. This guitar is X braced…there are some New York Martins that were fan braced and are less suited to steel strings. Antique Trunk Restored! Beautiful! Circa 1880's to 1890's
For sale today is a very nicely restored medium size humpback trunk and the restoration turned out just great. I did not find any patent dates on the trunk and based on 40 years experience restoring trunks I would date this trunk to the 1880's to 1890's which makes this great old humpback a 100 plus years old- a true antique. This trunk was structurally sound when the restoration started and the bottom is solid. Has the original slats, the wood has multiple coats of paint applied and give two coats of clear. The four original metal wheels work well and the trunk rolls easily. There are three original hinges that are heavy duty, tight, polished, work well and the lid closes well. A new black leather lid lifter was installed. The original center lock has been polished, there is no key and the top half of the lock is missing. There are ... more35 plus pieces of polished hardware on the trunk. The two original mechanical latches are HD, fancy, polished and both work. The interior has been removed and the tray is long gone. All the metal/tin on the trunk is in VGC. Has the original metal lid stay and the lid closes well. A new black leather lid lifter was installed. The trunk has 12 original solid oak slats in a golden oak color. Two new black leather handles were installed with the original end caps. The foot offers a beautiful wide tiger oak panel also with applied carving. The serpentine front washstand also of tiger oak has one drawer over two doors offering great storage. The mirrored top features the same edging and applied carvings as the bed. Under the mirror is a towel bar. Old viola bow not marked Good strong dark wood. circa 1890
Good Quality Full size(Exactly 28 3/4 inches long) old VIOLA bow. Bow is made from good old Stiff wood good dark ancient wood that will produce tone. I'm not sure if the frog is original but some of the early viola bows had violin bow frogs. It fits the stick well like it is original. Stick has some cracks near the bow screw. This will be a good one for a bow repair man to go through and cleanly close these cracks although it won't be a tough job. It weighs 62 grams without hair. Will probably be about 65 to 67 grams once fully dressed. This would also be a good bow for a violin player that wants a heavier bow for certain situations. This bow will be well worth the effort and should be a great playing bow. Shipping is $12 in a tube to USA. Overseas is $22. This pawnshop cabinet was purchased by myself in 1980 in Singapore. It is"L" shaped and the wide teak counter has a brass railing around the outside through which the good being pawned were passed. Under the counter there is 3 drawers and 4 doors for storage. The top of the counter is 38" and the top of cage is 60" Teak wood and solid brass railing. NINE FOOT LONG SOLID MAHOGANY DOUBLE PEDESTAL FOUR LEG FERERAL STYLED BANQUET TABLE-FINE 19TH CENTURY FORMAL DINING TABLE! Bay Colony Antiques is pleased to offer you this super fine quality Nine Foot Long solid mahogany 19th Century Federal styled Banquet table. This wonderful formal dining table is constructed with two four leg double pedestal leg systems appointed with very high quality brass leg caps and pivoting caster wheels on each of its eight legs. It is 46" wide and 29 3/4" tall. It collapses to 64 1/4" long without its two 21 1/2" long leaves installed and becomes 108" long with them installed. Each of these huge leaves are supported by thick mahogany support beams the clip into frame of the table. The leaves actually rest on top of these supports and each side of the leaves have carved male and female ... moreslots the lock the leaves into place and prevent them from sliding out of place. The entire table has a carved edge including each side matched on the leaves. This table just received a dark Briwax application before the pictures were taken. It was given a good buffing and will receive several more before it is shipped. The table is in overall excellent structual condition. The tables' top is the original surface. There are a few small surface marks on its leaves but well within acceptable limits and not a big issue. No huge gouges or deep digs with stains. We are only trying to demonstrate this is over a 100 year old table with its original top surface. A comperable quality nine foot long formal solid mahogany dining table anything remotely close to this table's quality would cost you upwards to $10.000 or more new. Take a look at Stickley, Baker, Kittenger, Hendredon, etc. We are more than qualified(with years of experetise) to take this top down, re-stain and apply several new coats of sprayed and hand rubbed lacquer for an additional cost. Victorian Sterling Silver Engrave Decorated Retractable Ink Dip Pen& Pencil circa 1890 This Antique Retractable Ink Dip Pen& Pencil measures approximately 4 1/8 inches or 106 mm in length from the top or lid to the end of its body when the pen and pencil are fully retracted and it is 5 1/ 8 inches or 13 0 mm in length from the top of the body to the end of the pencil when it is fully extended. It is 5 3/8 inches or 1 37 mm in length from the end of the pen nib to the top of the body when the internal ink dip pen is fully extended and it is just under 5/8 of an inch or 1 5 mm across the width of the amethyst set top or lid. The ink dip pen and pencil is made from a sterling silver body in a square tubular shape that has been superbly bright cut engrave decorated and it has a threaded upper body with a screw down relief decorated silver ... morelid that has a circular cut amethyst or coloured glass panel set into its top. The outer body has a raised relief decorated sliding toggle on each side that each extend and retract its internal mechanical worm drive pencil or ink dip pen and there is a shaped cartouche on one side of the upper body that Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or monogram all as photographed below and although I have not found any silver marks as is very typical with these antique items the outer body has been tested and it is guaranteed as being made from sterling silver, I estimate that this superb quality ink dip pen and mechanical pencil was made circa 1880- 1900. The condition is used and near Mint for its age. The Pen and Mechanical Pencil are Working Perfectly. The pen and pencil has No large Dents. No Holes, No Splits, No Cracks and No Repairs that I can find. The body is straight, the decoration is very crisp, the dip pen and pencil both extend and retract with ease, the mechanical pencil mechanism is working perfectly as the inner lead push rod extends and retracts when twisted as it should, the amethyst top panel is in mint condition with no chips and no cracks although a

A fine handmade Victorian cranberry glass bowl on a clear stem and foot and applied clear glass rim. No chips. Cracks or repairs. It has an unpolished pontil scar under the base. There are few small bubbles and a couple of tiny slag inclusions in the glass visible in the photographs. It measures 3 3/8 inches tall and 5 3/8 inches in diameter across the top.

Chips or alterations but there are some nibbles to the under edge of the lid and the inner top of the jar where the lid has been removed and replaced repeatedly over the years(see photograph)

A French Clock Movement w. Outside Escapement, working, circa 1890
Here is an antique French clock movement with outside(visible) escapement. I t would fit a case hole of diameter 4 3/4 inches(121 mm) or greater. Up to nearly 5 inches. Note the very fine curved teeth of the escap e wheel. Indicative of a finer grade of des ign. The maker of this movement is marked on the bezel rim: CLF" This movement appears to be in working condition. I wound up the springs. Put it on the test stand, hung an appropriate pendulum on it- and it ran for 12 hours until I took it down. The strike train also works. That said. I do not know when it was cleaned last, nor how many days it might run without stopping. So it is offered as is. As described and as pictured. There are some faint hairline cracks in the inner and outer dials. The most visible one being near the"VII" There is also a flake at the outer rim ... morebelow the"III" and some chipping at the right end of the escape wheel bridge inward from the"II" I see that one of the stone pallets is held in place by clear cement. Up for auction is a very unique Antique Chinese or Japanese Wood Decorated Fan Frame with three prints of Geisha's. This piece is out of an estate of unique Asian Pieces. Such as some I have already sold. This large hanging wall Fan Frame has three windows with antique colored prints under glass. The body itself is wood with high relief painting designs such as the trees with laquer wood. There are a few issues through out this piece, chipping, a crack by on of the photos to the tree as seen clearly in the photo, also at the base of the fan, some early restoration seems present but not much. The back of the three frames are held by nails that may need reinforcing. Overall, a unique piece as you can see for these photos. Measures 32' long and 19' high. We were not, however, able to locate a relevant 1889 patent for this lamp. We did find a 1909 U.S. patent(Number 916,399, which can be found by searching for it at www.google.com/patents) for an improvement in the design which provided for easier replacement of the wick. That patent called for the long brass wick tube to extend into the body of the font and up towards the filler cap. DESCRIPTION: I’m offering today an Antique Elite Limoges France Shallow Porcelain Bowl with beautiful gold trim. This Antique bowl has scalloped edges which are trimmed in beautiful heavy gold. The bowl dips down into a shallow well with raised embossed designs in the porcelain. The pale yellow and blue-green tiny flowers decorate the side walls which look quite elegant against the gold trim around the edges. In the very center against the white porcelain is a round band of pastel flowers decorating the elegant design. To finish out the bowl are three bands of matching flowers on the outside rim of the bowl. The bowl has a tiny rim which allows it to sit up from the surface. There is yet another band of gold contouring around the rim edge. The bottom is hallmarked in red: Elite SM Limoges France" There is also another hallmark in dark ... moreblue. 1024x768 The secretary is believed to be circa about 1890. The carvings are beautifuland unusual. The two side doors open revealing shelves; the bottom middledrawer does the same; and the top drop-down door reveals small drawers. Nooksand crannies. There is another drawer between the drop-down and lowerdoors. The drop-down door needs tohave the hinges tightened slightly. As it will occasionally drop down on itsown. Also, the door itself has been repaired, and the repairs are visiblefrom the inside view(midway down the door) there is also a mostly-invisibleline that can be seen from the front if you look closely, which is where thesame repair occurred. Granny’s Attic appraised the piece at $800 despitethe repair, Because it is not at all a common piece. And the carving isvery unique. Antique Mahogany Dining Table Made in England Circa 1890.
This is a very nice solid mahogany dining table made in England circa 1890. It has 4 leafs to the center which are 20 inches each. So you can have as many leafs in as you want. lts 54 round when closed. Total measurements when fully extended are 134 long. 54 wide, it will seat at least 10 people if not more. The condition is very good and has been refinished at some time.
