The Alvin Manufacturing Company was founded in 1886 by William H. Jamouneau in Irvington. New Jersey. The company moved to Sag Harbor, Long Island in 1895 and later changed its name to the Alvin Silver Co. in 1919. The Alvin Silver Manufacturing Company was known for making fine sterling silver. The Gorham company of Providence, Rhode Island acquired the Alvin Company’s dies and patterns in 1928. It measures approximately 3 3/4" with original stopper. There is a monogram. In script, on the cartouche. It is marked" 999/1000 Fine" with the Alvin hallmark and numbers" 3 111" The Sterling overlay on this lovely bottle bears the hallmark of the Alvin Manufacturing Company. Which became Alvin Silver in erlay 1900. The art nouveau silver whips and swirls around the inverted tear-shape of the bottle. Forming flowers and stems. The condition of this bottle is near mint. The only problem is that sometime in the last century the stopper was bumped and has a slight chip and two small crack inside bottle neck(doesn't show when it is on. It sits properly and doesn't take away from the beauty of this bottle) Please note in the photos I show how the bottom of the bottle and the bottom of the stopper have matching etched numbers: 18. They have been mates since the day they were made- the glass in the stopper was ground specifically to fit the neck of this bottle. Very rare piece! I accept PayPal. It is very unique in its shape and size. ... moreI believe it is called 8 lobe or clove shape. The overlay is done in a draping floral pattern. The only marks I could find are on the outer rim. They are sterling and 151 I believe. Overall the bottle is in good to great shape. It does not appear to be missing any overlay. There are no repairs. Breaks, chips, or fleabites I could find. There is a couple dings to the sterling on the top but nothing major. It comes with what I believe is the original matching stopper. I wish I could say the condition was the same as the bottle but I can't. It appears to have been dropped a long time ago. There is a tiny corner of overlay missing that is small enough you can barely notice. I say dropped because the base of the stopper has a fairly good size chip all the way up. The edges are smooth leading me to believe it is old damage. It did not affect the beauty end of it though. It measures just under 6 1/2" tall with the stopper in and just under 4 3/4" without. The stopper itself measures about 2 5/8" long. Overall, even with the chipped stopper, it still displays beautifully and would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I am in no way an expert and try to describe things the best I can. Everything I sell is sold in as is condition as it was found. Please look at all pics for a better description. As I buy things to resell from different places. I cannot guarantee them to be from a pet/smoke free home. If you have any questions please feel free to ask before you bid. Up for sale is this gorgeous perfume bottle with the stopper. This is made of a crystal glass with a Sterling Silver overlay design in the Art Nouveau style. It is marked"sterling" The piece measures 4 1/2” tall and 1 5/8” wide. It is in wonderful condition with no chips. Cracks, repairs or damage other than the tiny dings to the silver in the stopper and some shrinkage to the cork(which can be replaced, I leave that up to the collector) This is a super pretty piece and somewhat unusual since it has the pierced/open stopper. This week we have this absoutly gorgeous. Antique 19th century large perfume/scent bottle. Brilliant cut glass on all four sides is surrounded by intricate pierced(and solid) sterling silver overlay. This piece is hallmarked by one of London's top quality silversmiths' William Comyns. It is date marked for 1898 and fully hallmarked with the marks for sterling siver/London, the date mark of c and makers mark. The highly repousse' figural domed lid has a push button release/closure and hinged top. The piece still includes the orignal glass stopper. This is a suberb and highly sought-after piece in exceptional condition. Many of these are found with the bottom sterling portion missing all together. The piece measures 5' tall x 2" square. Antique Emerald Glass With Sterling Silver Overlay Scent Bottle. I am pretty sure this is an Alvin. But the name Alvin does not appear on the bottle. There are some very hard to read inscriptions which appear to say patented 70 and 99 fine. The stopper has small chips and the bottom shows age appropriate wear. But the piece is in excellent condition. Also there are numbers; 069 crossed out and 717 same with the stopper. The bottle is 4.25" tall by 2.5" wide.

This is an elegant antique Sterling Silver Overlay Perfume Bottle(1905 est. In my opinion it was made in America or England. It has number"35" etched on the bottom of the bottle and stopper. Meaning the stopper and bottle are a perfect match. Importantly, the delicate construction process of mating silver to glass resulted in no glass cracks. The stopper matches the scroll design, and the bottle has a thin, delicate, fancy script monogram of the word"Alice. Sterling" is clearly seen at the bottom rim. The glass and stopper are in mint condition. This piece likely held very expensive perfume. It is beautiful. Highly-desirable, functional art. Art Nouveau Green Glass Perfume Bottle with Silver Overlay Hopkinsville
Beautiful emerald glass perfume bottle with silver overlay that spells out Hopkinsville. I assume Kentucky, considering how close it is. In fair shape, with scuffs to the silver, especially on the top ring, an odd ding on the top and a ding on the silver on the stopper. There also appears to be some damage to the inside glass neck, which must have been done during manufacture, since it's under the silver. There seems to be cracks or crazing, but I can't get a picture or even a good look at it. There are absolutely no marks, though it seems to match those made by Alvin and Gorham. There is either a g8 or 98 inscribed into the bottom of the stopper. The bottle it 2 3/8" high without the stopper, and 3 7/8" with the stopper.

Hi, This is an Electrolytic Art Metal Co. EAMCO) Art Nouveau Perfume Bottle set. EAMCO was in business from 1905 to 1915. The large bottle is 3 1/2" wide and stands 4" tall with the stopper in. The next two bottles are a little smaller 2 3/8" wide and one is 3" tall and the other is 3 1/2" tall. Each bottle is monogrammed. The Vase is cracked at the top(please see all photo's) it stands 6" tall and the base is 2 1/2" wide the opening for the bud is 1" wide. The large bottle has hazing inside as well as the vase. The small stopper with the golden hew inside has a flea bite nick at the bottle of the stopper- see close-up picture please. For your consideration is this dainty glass perfume bottle with a handcrafted floral.925 sterling silver overlay. Made in Mexico c. 1950. The bottle stands 2 1/2" tall with it's cap in place, the glass is clear and clean. The cap is screw-type and the glass threads are trouble-free. Overall condition is very good vintage with only minimal signs of handling wear. Antique c. 1890 Perfume Bottle Alvin Mfg .999 Silver Overlay 193 Shape Glass
For your consideration is this beautiful glass perfume bottle with pure.999 silver overlay by Alvin Manufacturing circa 1890. The bottle stands 3 1/4" tall with it's stopper and the overlay design is a flowery acutely stylish design typical of Art Nouveau. The silver has a monogram. I believe its"JBM" Some damage to the glass inside the neck but is stable and hidden behind the silver exterior collar. Stopper is perfect. Both stopper and bottle are marked"193" bottle has additional"ZZZ" mark. Alvin Manufacturing was founded in 1886 and was based in Providence, Rhode Island. Many bottles with an Alvin silver overlay were produced by Steuben(founded 1903) and were.925 silver(sterling) I believe this is a very early version since Steuben didn't exist until 1903, to my knowledge didn't have a"193" ... moreshape, and curiously the Alvin stamp shows the location of the bird and crescent in reverse to what is normally found in reference books. A very nice looking and old bottle!

Antique Perfume Bottle, Sterling Silver Overlay, Early 1900's, Stunning!
You are viewing a most exquisite antique perfume bottle. It was found in my mother's San Francisco estate and I believe is from the very early 1900's. Perhaps older. It stands 3-3/4" from top of stopper to bottom and 3-1/4" across the bottom. It is incised with STERLING U U K along the bottom(see photo) and the bottom of the glass stopper has 19 etched on it. The decorative STERLING SILVER OVERLAY is just exquisite and would be absolutely stunning if properly cleaned and polished. There are no detectable nicks, chips or cracks. A quality Victorian scent lay down bottle with a repousse silver top.The glass has a blue overlay. The perfume is 10 cms long. About 3 cms wide,with a weight of 57 grams. The bottle is of high quality glass and once the hinge is repaired it would make a unique item and could fetch a very good price. This we leave it to the buyer to decide. The bottle is approximately 3 38" tall and 2 3/4" across the widest span. The condition is SUPER. The sterling overlay is THICK with NO DENTS. DINGS or SEPARATION. The sterling oval cartouche is NOT monogrammed. The glass bottle has NO CHIPS, NO CRACKS and NO SICKNESS. There is a smooth flake along the end of the stopper's dowel that spans the entire 1/2" area with a height of between 1/16" and 1/8" It ... moreappears to have been professionally ground down and polished. It is TOTALLY SMOOTH to the touch, still fitting perfectly inside the bottle There was a little bit of residue inside the bottle that I was able to clean with a damp Q-TIP. Because of its small size I was unable to clean the entire inside as well as I had hoped to. The stopper's flat dowel end and the bottle's underside are etched with the numbers 596 showing that this is a matched set. My many pictures show the details.
