Sets such as this were once common. The longer candle-style chandelier was meant for the dining room table. With the shorter down-bulb was for the adjacent living room. You can use this set in the same way, or perhaps in your newly renovated kitchen! Please note the beautifully detailed leaves which the glass drops hang from. And the delicate blue flowers. Soooooo pretty and sweet! What’s also so nice about this set is how original they are. They retain their original canopies. Socket rings, and glass drops. Only the center, bottom drops are replacements, and these are a perfect match and also vintage. ABOUT THE RESTORATION SCHEDULE: This set is not yet restored. Indeed, I have several currently listed, but this is the first time I have ever offered this Deluxe version! The rare and distinguishing feature of the Deluxe version is the three incredible Deco supports just above the body. Wow. These are normally just standard chains. The fixture is also notable in retaining its gorgeous polychrome finish in several tones of burnished gold. And with subtle red and emerald accents. Stunning. The fixture retains the incredible original ceiling canopy. While the porcelain socket rings are original. Too, the sockets and all the wiring are new. The vertical wire is cloth-covered. Nice. I’m certain it’s not earlier or later. I’m certain. Too, as to its beauty. And rarity. I’ve never offered a chandelier like it. All the metal components appear to have a pewter finish. Nice. Each arm has distinctive crystals. The hurricane shades are particularly lovely; that they remain in situ is frankly amazing. I also like the expressive glass stem. The chandelier is clearly modeled after an Argand lamp. From Wikipedia: The Argand lamp was new to Thomas Jefferson in Paris in 1784. Which according to him gave off"a light equal to six or eight candles. These new lamps. While more complex and costly than the previous primitive oil lamps, were first adopted by the well-to-do but soon spread to the middle classes and eventually the less well-off as well. Argand lamps were manufactured in a great variety of decorative forms and quickly became popular in America. This fixture is. Obviously, a delightfully faux Argand lamp chandelier. I’m very pleased to offer this rare circa-1950s Duplexalite! But what. You may ask, is a Duplexalite? The Miller Company created a fixture they dubbed Duplexalite. I sell a number of these wonderful fixtures each year(see link below) There is a wide variety in terms of colors. Patterns, and details, but each Duplexalite comprises a single 300W socket, a glass bottom shade, and a large metal shade above. The fixtures throw a lot of light UP, and thus a highly diffused, flattering light quality is the result. You can even find Duplexalites in the White House! However. This Duplexalite is really rare. I have never before offered one so simple. And believe the fixture to be a last generation and dating from circa-1950. Well, I just had to have it! A hidden ring holds the glass bottom shade. The larger metal shade simply sits on the ring. As mentioned. The fixture accepts a whopping 300W bulb(Mogul base) The metal shade retains its original painted finish. And this is a pale beige. The metal components have a slightly coppery finish(also original) The heat from the bulb burned off this finish on the socket housing. It seemed foolish to refinish it, so I simply polished the brass. This will patina down. The fixture is now 37-inches long(and 16-wide) I cannot make it longer. I’m very pleased to offer this STUNNING and LARGE silver-plated Colonial-Revival 1920s 6-bulb chandelier! Most of my fixtures are not more than 16-inches wide. A few are 18-inches wide. This beauty is a whopping 22-inches wide(and 24-inches with the shades) Wow! It’s impossible to convey in the images just how IMPRESSIVE this fixture is in person. Please note the center vase of the chandelier. And how this is held by three chains! I love details like this! This fixture is ideal for a Colonial-Revival-style home. Foursquare, or in a modernist interior as a dazzling counter-point! Obviously this fixture would be a knock-out in your dining room. But I can also envision it in your newly renovated kitchen! Yowser! Wholly restored and with new wiring. This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed! DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard-size bulbs. And 60W each or less. Sadly. The silk shades are not included. Happily, they are commonly available from in places like Home Depot, Restoration Hardware, and Pottery Barn(the latter two on-line even) COLOR: Silver-plate with an original antiqued finish. SIZE: See above. As well. The fixture is 31-inches long. This can be easily adjusted by removing chain links. I can also add links if needed. CONDITION: I love writing this: there’s no damage. I’m very pleased to offer this extraordinary and rare chandelier by the famous Riddle Company of Toledo! The chandelier features a silk tassel! Actually. I don’t know if the tassel is silk but do know that it’s a remarkable feature. And incredible that it has survived. I’ve only ever seen such a feature in old catalogs; this is the first time I’ve ever found one intact. It’s also in good shape. I removed it, gently vacuumed, and replaced it with no loss. The chandelier is also breathtaking. This is Riddle at their best. The whole is an astonishing symphony of curving. Intersecting shapes. Wow. Wow! I love just looking at it. In addition. The chandelier retains its original polychrome. Amazing. The mains colors are a coppery gold and antiqued silver. Gorgeous. There are subtle accents of green, red, and blue. Yum.
