The wide end with the glass measures 17 1/2 inches wide with the glass being right at 15 inches wide. The top mounting pipe we have installed is 10 inches long. You can make this light shorter by changing out this pipe with a shorter piece. Or you can make the light hang further down by adding a longer pipe. This pipe is common 1/2 inch black iron pipe you can buy at most hardware stores pre-threaded. We have used a hammered gold paint to give this iron pipe a matching brass look. The ceiling mount is 3 1/8 inches wide with four mount holes. This light has been re-wired with all new UL-Listed parts made by Westinghouse Electric. Our newly installed lighting hardware is rated for any voltage under 250 volts, so normal house power is not an issue. The new bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb with a wattage of less than 150 watts. Since the inside housing has very little space restrictions, you can even use the newer compact fluorescent bulbs, or a spot light with a common screw in base. Our wiring exits the center hole of the ceiling mount and we provide about 30 inches of extra wiring. When we find these lights. They are painted. We have removed the paint and polished the copper and brass. We do not try to polish our lights to the point they look new, so some buyers may spend some additional time doing additional polish work to get the light to your desired finish. Most people we have talked to hang our lights of this design with no additional polishing. The 8 closure nuts on the glass end of the light have been cleaned and oiled so they spin on and off with just a little effort. The glass on this light has some surface scratches. This is ... morea rare. Brass oil lantern manufactured in the early 1900's for use in finer staterooms. It is an absolutely beautiful antique in great condition. There are two small cracks(you can see them in the last two pictures) around the base of the lantern. Most likely caused by age. Also I had a hard time screwing together the lantern and the piece that connects to the wall. I think it could be easily replaced with another bolt. And it might even go together if it is forced. I was trying to be careful when I was putting it together. See the third to last picture to know the piece I am talking about. This lamp was manufactured by C. Gray Ship Chandlers Established 1882 Arbroyath. Scotland. You can see that information on the brass nameplate(see picture above) This lamp used to belong to my aunt’s great uncle and he bought it many many years ago in San Francisco. The lamp is very heavy! The burners are original with a double wick. The knobs are stamped"Duplex Made in England" It appears to be original and in working condition. The wick knobs turn. I have not attempted to put fuel in the lamp or light it. Because I do not know how and I do not want to mess it up! The lamps have not been polished because I wanted to keep it in its current condition and I liked the way they look! The clear glass chimney is in perfect condition. As you can see in the picture the green shade does not fit around the holder(it fits there just fine. But it does not go to the edge of the metal rim) so I do not know if it is just made that way or this is not the original shade. Either way it looks beautiful. I just want to make sure you can see that in the picture and you are given the best description possible! Up for auction is a beautifully restored pair of Brass Cyclone Lamps with Amber glass. I could not find the maker of these lamps other than they are marked"Made in New Jersey" on the front. They are electrified and work perfectly. I found them in an antique shop completely tarnished and dirty. I had them professionally cleaned and polished several years ago and had them mounted above my fireplace mantle. They look spectacular when lit. I recently moved and don't have a place for them. Vintage/Antique Brass w/Beveled Glass Panes Hanging Nautical Railway Oil Lantern
Tall Brass.With Beveled Glass Pane's, Hanging Ship/Nautical/Railway Oil Kerosene Lantern Lamp. Beveled Glass Panes and Door. The door has a Slip Wire Latch. Complete with an Inner Brass Oil Kerosene Lantern Burner It has a Wide Hanging Handle, Punched Vents. It is in Good-very good Vintage Condition, There is expected tarnish/patina present There is a small non sharp chip on the top door glass within the beveling. Ther door hinge is a little warped but it closes and latches ok measurement are: 13-1/2"tall including the handle. Approximately 4" wide across the lantern body, 5-1/4"wide across glass pane's x 51/4" wide across bottom. The oil container unscrews for filling, there is an unused wick inside the oil container. Here is a very old QUALITY made BRASS/ BRONZE? NAUTICAL SHIP LIGHT. This ANTIQUE NAVIGATION light has a 6 1/2 inch base across and is about 5 1/2 inches tall. This light has really nice AGED PATINA and is a GREAT SHOW DISPLAY PIECE. there ARE 5 base bolts with this light. There are no interior parts. The glass shows on only 1/2 side of the light which was probably for a forward facing deck light. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WAS FROM A SHIP MAST? There are no makers marks. Very HEAVY about 7 lbs. The glass has a couple of flake specs see photo3 that are normal for a light this age. There is not cracks that go through only the flakes. This is a great nautical ANTIQUE FROM A TIME GONE BY. These lights measure about 9 1/2 inches tall and not counting the wall mount they are about 4 inches wide. When mounted to the wall. They will extend out from the wall by about 7 inches. The wall mount has two mount holes and will require a mounting surface that is about 3 inches wide and about 1/2 inches tall. Originally the power source for these lights came ... morefrom two conduits that connected into the back side of the light. We installed two copper caps in the original conduit holes and added the 90 degree elbow and short brass pipe on the top. The elbow and the brass pipe we added allows all the wiring to be 100% hidden from sight. You can install a plate cover over your existing junction box and drill a hole that will allow the conduit pipe to enter your junction box. Next step is to screw the light to your cover plate and you are done. Also, the new pipe we installed can be cut flush with the wall mount, and the light can be installed right to the wall with no junction box. Vintage Nautical - Industrial Explosion Proof Brass Light Housings
For sale are two brass nautical/industrial Brass explosionproof light housings. I was told these were from the 40s but cannot confirm that. They were made by R. Lovell& Company in Arlington New Jersey. They are made of brass but at some point were painted. So. They have been sandblasted back to their original condition. I scratched a little spot on one of them so you can see the brass underneath the patina. These could be polished if you prefer, but I think the patina is beautiful. The base of the lamp is also bordered with fisherman's rope giving the lamp a real nautical look. The bronze lantern is 16" tall, 7" in diameter, and has caged in glass with a flickering bulb inside. There is a small crack on the base of the lantern, which you can see in one of the pictures. The lamp also has 2 large belaying pins on each side of the lantern. There is a 3 way light switch, which controls both the lamp and the lantern. The wood on this lamp may have some scuffs marks or nicks from its journeys, but it appears in great condition for its age. For sale is a trio of vintage lamps made using vintage copper and brass ship's lanterns made by Tung Woo of Hong Kong. The lamps have different colors of glass; green. Red, and clear(yellowish) The 3 ship lanterns are the same size, but one of them(with the clear glass) is primarily brass, is mounted on a taller wooden base, and is made into a lamp in a different style, making it taller than the other 2 lamps. The lanterns on the 2 small lamps appear to be primarily made of copper. The tops of the lanterns all open. The 2 smaller lanterns have silver-colored(chrome? reflectors installed behind the bulbs. The lamps all have 3-way switches, for lighting either 1) top bulb only, 2) lantern small bulb only, or 3) both bulbs. I believe this to be a vintage ship/nautical/maritime oil lantern in good condition. Made of copper, brass and a amber/yellowish tinted globe shaped glass w/ no cracks or chips. The lantern measures 11"H x 7.5"W and has a small removable oil lantern that enters the lantern through a small hole in the base of the lantern. I left the metal the way I found this piece and only cleaned up the glass globe. I do not see any reason why this lantern would not function properly. Very nice large vintage boat green running light by Perko. It's lost most of its plating and brass is showing through. The lens has no cracks or chips. 7 1/2" long. 5" wide, and 3" tall. For sale is an antique maritime ships lantern made of copper and brass. The lantern is in fair condition. It is missing the burner. Plus. The globe has been busted and glued back together. It stands about 19 inches tall. The base measures about 9 inches ac ross the bottom. I don't know who the maker is. There is a plate with the number 44190 on the front. The area where the wick is put is clean and not used or hardly used. It shows little to no signs of burning marks or anything of that nature. There is moderate tarnishing and marking of the brass on the outside but most of it is purely cosmetic. There is some oxidization here and there but nothing major. This lamp does not come with a handle but has the holes for one. In terms of keys for the keyholes or locks or anything. MASTHEAD nautical/ Marine Ships Oil Lamp/ Lantern- 10 1/2" tall from base to top of handle. That's about all I know about this piece! Please review the photographs and ask questions if you have them. I will tell you what I see below. But I don't know anything about these things. It appears to be. From what I see on the Internet, an oil lamp or lantern for a ship. It appears complete to me, again based what I see on the Internet. I see the lantern, a metal reflector inside, a wick in a holder, with a knob that turns to raise the wick. Back of the lantern slides up and down to access the inside. At the back of the lantern. At the top, it says Made in England. On the front of the lantern. On top(the chimney? it has a decorative little plaque that says Masthead. Inside. On the handle that turns, believe it says Sherwood, but it's ... morehard to see. Also inside. On the brass colored piece that holds the wick, it says WEDGE. This was advertised as a"vintage marine oil lantern" The auction I just purchased this at. I do not know if it is old. A repro, original, in part or in whole, or if it is in working order. I can tell you that when I slipped my hand inside. There was some black dirt that resembled SOOT. At some point, I believe this was used. The fabric wick appears clean/unused. Assuming that was replaced. The globe is rounded and feels thin. I do see waves or imperfections. And what may be little bubbles. It almost feels plastic to me, but why would plastic be wavy or contain little bubbles? I just don't know. There is a dent to the right of the masthead label. And another small ding at the rear, left side, about 3 inches from the top of the sliding door. Other than that, aside from needing a very good cleaning and dusting, and a few scratches or minor markings, this looks wonderful to me. Please take a moment to view all photographs. Vintage Antique STERN Nautical Hong Kong Copper Brass Oil Navigation Lantern 9"
This lantern was probably acquired in Singapore where my father-in-law operated a salvage diving business in the 70's.he was US Navy Diver. Who spent a lot of time on boats-and then driving ships, once he retired. The wick is trimmed, slides securely down and there is a reflector that slides in behind it. The wick cap does not click securely to the oil reservoir, though. The thumb wheel turns the wick up and there is one to open the hatch to pull up and refill the reservoir. The top clicks down securely where the ring is positioned. I have some better pictures but am having some trouble uploading from that camera. Email me if you would like to see more.

This light has two bulb holders. One on the top and one on the bottom. This light has a weathered look. This light has all new wiring. The new bulb holders and wiring are UL-Listed and rated to work with any voltage under 250 volts. The bulb holders takes normal screw in bulbs of 75 watts or less.
