Vintage Carved Wood Nautical Lamp Folk Art Sea Captain/Pier
Very unusual folk art lamp. The captain is standing on a pier or dock. Ducks to his left and the ducks are made with real feathers, hemp roped pylons to his rear, buoy behind him,seagull flying, ladder going up the pylons, wooden keg, fishing net and even a rat. The folk artist that assembled it has his initials on the ladder. Shade is original to the lamp and sort of a burlap look outside with a paper liner inside. Switch is 3 way and works, wiring looks ok. this is 17" long and about 16" tall. cast from aluminum or zinc. Not sure but makers family member said it was zinc. he said his father manufactured these in chicago years ago and that this was the actual prototype. i have seen similar ones made from glass here on ebay and the family did own a glass factory. this one is all metal and no glass. i did not plug it in to test the lights.

This early style kerosene burner combination navigation light with Fresnel lenses made by the National Marine Lamp Co. of New York. This lamp was made prior to 1912 since after that date National Maritime were marked with a patent date of 1912 or used the trade name“Triplex” This is an early example since the company was founded in 1906. This lamp is most suitable for someone seeking this shielded design of which only a few have survived. It has a great deal of character and a wonderfully warm patina. THE MAKER: National Marine Lamp Co. According to Anthony Hobson's Lanterns that Lit our World, Book 2 was started in 1906 operating from Pear St. in New York City. ... moreIt brought the burner shop Bristol Brass in Forestville, CT in 1911. National Marine bought from Bristol Brass, so similarities in the products are to be expected. Later National Marine absorbed a company called American Lamp and Brass, according to Hobson, but the"American" name died with the acquisition. Fredrick Perkins became president of National in 1913. Frederick and his son Louis left that company in 1916 and moved back to Brooklyn, New York where they started Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation so there is a lot of lamp history in this early lamp. Pair Vintage Copper Brass NEPTUNE NR Ship Lantern Lamp Nautical Maritime Cage NR
This auction is for a pair of vintage NEPTUNE NR copper and brass ship oil lamp lanterns. These lamps are in EXCELLENT estate found condition with a stunning and even patina. They are beautifully crafted from copper and brass and secured with a chain and hook in the front. These lanterns both have a badge at the top with the Neptune hallmark and NR. All of the glass is in beautiful condition(with the exception of some dust from being displayed) The globe inside is also in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The oil lamp inside is secured to a metal wire that stays in place by sliding down two opposing corners inside. And sits very securely inside with no wobble. I do not know the age of the lanterns, and have seen only a few similar, but most of then have all brass cages(die to the reddish tint I do believe this is mostly copper) ... moreor have been polished. None have been found also with this exact badge in the same place and this stunning copper patina with the reddish copper undertones that almost glow through. This has not been cleaned or polished, but I'm sure would polish up nicely if the buyer wishes to do so. Each lantern stands 15"high without handle, and 17 1/2" tall with handle, by approx 7"wide. Those would truly make an excellent display piece or addition to any collection. Please see pictures for more details and feel free to ask questions. Vintage Nautical Buoy Table Lamp Vintage nautical buoy table lamp that stands 9" tall and 4 1/2" in diameter it is made of brass and light steel with a frosted globe. The bottom is weighted down so it can not fall over but it will roll side to side. Also there is a brass bell at the top of the lamp that will ring when the lamp is in motion but it has to move pretty far in order to get the bell to ring. The external wiring is old looking but I did plug the lamp in for a very short time and it did light up(The on switch says DEAL on it) I don't encourage using this lamp without it being rewired. Vintage Primitve Mid-Century Nautical Wall Lamp cast iron ocean saling ship
This vintage nautical wall lamp came from an estate and probably dates from the 40's. The finish is all original with some wear to the brass finish.the enamel is in good condition with only a little wear to the rope area under the life preserver. It is in working condition and I believe the wiring is original. I can find no marks. Measurement are 7" X 4 1/2" at the widest points. It is a great piece with primitive charm. This is a very different table lamp I got it at an estate sale I know it is older but not sure of the year. I also don't know if it is factory made or home made. The metal I don't know what it is but its very sturdy. It NEEDS A CLEANING I don't do that I sure don't want to mess anything up.It does sit on a wooden base. Boat or Dock Light* This is a vintage maritime nautical Fresnel Lens Lamp that was previously being used as a dock light in Austoria. Oregon on Oregon's North Coast. It appears to be brass or copper metal(do not know if solid or plate) It has a glass fresnel lens. It measures approximately 7 1/2" tall to top of hanger and 4 1/2" in diameter at the base. It is wired to take a standard electric light bulb. The metal top and bottom attach to fresnel lens with thumb set screws. It is as found and well weathered from years of use although it is still functional. We have not cleaned the metal or glass and there are deposits from the elements on both the metal and glass. This is a small gimbal lamp. Smallest I've seen. With chimney on, 9 1/2 inches. From base to threads just 4" tall. centers 3 1/2 inches out from wall) Made by Perkins and marked PERCO on both the weighted lamp base and the wall mount. This lamp suffers no damage and comes with a Miller# 0 flange or set screw burner. Burner is marked(thumbwheel) E. MILLER CO. MADE IN U. S. A. Its chimney has a base size of 1 5/8" Stands 4 7/8 inches. And is marked" MACBETH 462 PEARL GLASS MADE IN USA" with a tiny"0" below that. You can feel a tiny rough spot on its base edge, but its not damage. Chimney is clean top and bottom. Has a nice patina presently or will polish nicely depending on your taste. This is a Green lensed Vintage Perko De-Lite Starboard kerosene Brass Nautical Light.Was manufactured in Brooklyn, N.Y. It includes the kerosene Lamp Light container, but is missing the interior reflector,and does have a 1/2 inch occlusion in the lense. The occlusion should be visible in the photo, it is within the glass and does not break the surface of either side of the lense. Large Vintage Copper& Brass Nautical Neptune Maritime Oil Lamp Lantern This large vintage Neptune nautical oil lamp is crafted of copper& brass. The outer housing is copper& the interior is lined in brass. With a brass lamp. The top is hinged& clasped with a chained hook. The lamp lifts out on two brass arms that extend to the top of the lamp. The interior lamp is complete& functioning. All glass is fine& the lamp displays very nicely. There is some slight age greening to the copper& one small dent on the back of the frame. Next to the window. It measures 14.5" tall excluding the handle& 18.5" tall including the handle by 9" wide, including the brass hanging brackets by 6" wide. Here is a HUGE DRESSEL Lantern marked MOHAWK LAMP NEW YORK STATE CANALS. This lantern is marked on top DRESSEL ARLINGTON NJ. USA. This old Beauty is 17 1/2 inches tall from bottom to top an 22 1/2 tall to the top of the hanging handle. It should be noted this IS AN OLD RELIC AND SOMEONE SHOULD NOT EXPECT PERFECTION. There is some staining the glass FRESNEL IS 8 INCHES ACROSS CLEAR GLASS AND 7 INCHES TALL AND IS MARKED CORNING. There is a crack in the FRESNEL photo 5 and some chips in the glass from years of use. NOTE THE GLASS IS INTACT AND NOT LOOSE. The turn screws are tight but work and the top comes off. The base is 10 inches across and 3 inches high. There is a spot inside where I believe some type of GAS or Oil would have gone? THERE IS NO interior light or guts.Not sure how it would have been original. Measures 36 1/2 inches in height, 17 inches wide, 11 inches deep and made out of 2 inch planking. The light socket and shaft will be taken off for shipping purposes. Cord is a bit frayed, still works, but perhaps a new one could be put on. The night light did work, and then went off. No lamp shade or bulb with it.
