ANTIQUE PERKO MASTHEAD SHIPS MARINE LANTERN LAMP SMALL OIL LAMP FRESNEL LENSE For your consideration is this Antique Perko Ships Lantern. This lantern has been converted from oil to electric. There is a dent on the bottom edge. This has made it out of round& where the insert only lines up in one position. One of the locking wires has come disconnected but is still present& included. Clear perko Fresnel lens in great condition with no cracks. This lens is a full cylinder. This lantern is just over 6" tall and is 4.25" across the b ottom. I have made no attempts to polish or repair this lamp. This is the condition i found it in. This piece will make a great little project for someone who likes to tinker with things. Or just leave it the way it is, as it's still charming!

RARE PERKO ANTIQUE SHIPS LAMP HUGE 24" NAUTICAL LIGHT LANTERN MARINE SAIL
Up for auction is this old P ERKO ships lamp. It must be the largest lamp made by Perko. It stands an impressive 2 4" tall. With handle raised. M easures 11 1/2" wide and 9 1/2" deep. This could have been a cargo lamp. Steaming l ight. Anchor light, or a stern light. Not really sure. Somewhere on it's journey it was electrified and has a bulb inside and the burner is not present. It has a thick Fresnel lens that is turning purpl e with age and it has a crack in it that is stable. Doesn't detract much from the old lamp. Still displays beautifull y.With a r ich patina that adds to the salty character. This Perko lamp was made in Brooklyn. New York a long time ago and after being at sea for many years. Vintage National Marine Company combination bow lantern. We are very pleased to be able to offer for your consideration this wonderful piece of vintage maritime/nautical hardware. This early style kerosene burner combination navigation light with Fresnel lenses made by the National Marine Lamp Co. of New York. This lamp was made prior to 1912 since after that date National Maritime were marked with a patent date of 1912 or used the trade name“Triplex” This is an early example since the company was founded in 1906. This lamp is most suitable for someone seeking this shielded design of which only a few have survived. It has a great deal of character and a wonderfully warm patina. THE MAKER: National Marine Lamp Co. According to Anthony Hobson's Lanterns that Lit our World, Book 2 was started in 1906 operating from Pear St. in New York City. ... moreIt brought the burner shop Bristol Brass in Forestville, CT in 1911. National Marine bought from Bristol Brass, so similarities in the products are to be expected. Later National Marine absorbed a company called American Lamp and Brass, according to Hobson, but the"American" name died with the acquisition. Fredrick Perkins became president of National in 1913. Frederick and his son Louis left that company in 1916 and moved back to Brooklyn, New York where they started Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation so there is a lot of lamp history in this early lamp. The beautiful red glass that appears to be hand blown reads"Perkins 10" Frederick Perkins founded the Perkins Marine Lamp Company in the late 1800's in Brooklyn. Up for sale is this vintage Perko. Perkins marine lantern. It is in the same condition as when I bought it, dirty, and that is the way it will be received. It looks as though it was dropped on the side and sort of pushed in the side of the bottom. Not sure about the fixture inside, don't know if that is original. this is a very old metal signal light of some sort. Crumpled metal label on back reads PERKINS MARINE LAMP& HDW CORP. Brooklyn NY so I assume it is a boating or navigational lamp of some sort. 11 1/2" tall. About 6" wide and 9" deep with the flap that separates the two ridged glass lenses, one is green and one is red. Lenses are held in with copper or brass fittings and cap is same metal. The metal body is rusted out on about the bottom 3/4 inch and fits over somekind of lighting mechanism but I don't know what kind. this could be used for parts for another lamp of the same type or possibly restored, I don't know. back has a flat mount of some sort. don't know if it goes over an electric or gas light on a post, or how it was used. It is 22" tall with the handle up. Its weight is approximately 10 lbs. The kerosene reservoir is easily removed. The words'Caution Use Paraffin Kerosene' are engraved on the body of the reservoir. RARE Antique Sterling and Other Metal Gimbaled Marine Lantern w/Enameled Base and Bone Handle- This is a very old gimbaled marine lantern that was obviously meant for the personal use of a sailor. The 1 1/2" ball fuel reservoir is attached to a cupped base to allow the lantern to be placed on a flat surface. The ball is enameled a beautiful red. It is 1 7/8" tall from the bottom of the base to the top. The base is 7/8" in diameter. Sterling and Other Metal" The number 37 and a maker's mark are engraved inside of the base. The handle is made of a type of bone.possibly whale bone? The handle length is 3 1/2" The total length is 6" It weighs about an ounce. CONDITION I've tried to show the dimpled side of the ball(there are 6 dimples) The minor scratches in the enameled area and the misshapen base. The handle ... morehas no chips. The vertical lines running through it appear to be more a characteristic of the material it's made of. The wick is missing. This lantern was produced by Ahlemann& Schlatter. This company was founded in 1868. And was a pioneer in the nautical lighting industry fulfilling the higher technical demands of the time. They used innovations to further develop lighting technology and for over one hundred years. Ahlemann& Schlatter's products accompanied ships throughout the world. Bremen is a city in Northwestern Germany; a commercial and industrial city with a major port on the River Weser. Metallwarenfabrik is a German term for metal fabrication shop. And has a very distinct design. Though there are some obvious signs of wear and age. This lantern will look excellent kept as is or refinished. The glass portion measures 5 1/4" in height. The glass has a nice prism shape. Which will only enhance its attraction when illuminated. No matter how you choose to refurbish this lantern. It will look great displayed in your home, garage, patio, front entrance or on your boat! This lantern measures 14 1/2" tall. Or 18" when hung. In addition. Approximately 10 inches across the bottom and 19 inches tall- 21 inches if you count the top handle- more if you count the bottom handle: I do not know if the oil burner works or ever was supposed to work. Vintage Wilcox and Crittenden Middletown Conn Marine Lantern from the early 1900s. I am not sure if a candle or an electric bulb was inserted in the bottom. Beautiful ruby red and emerald green fresnal glass lenses. Flat back with mounting bracket and ring handle. Height 8" and 5"across. As found condition. I have not cleaned or touched the finish.Lenses look to be in very good condition. Probably used on the Connecticut River or Long Island Sound. I would guess the red/green paint was added by the ship. One of the photos was taken with a flashlight inserted so you can visualize the glass color. This is a real piece of maritime history.

In the early days of California Stockton was the hub. Many regarded Stockton as the in-land San Francisco. It was a rough place and full of vice. Many different forms of boats and ships, from sailing vessels to large paddlewheelers made their way to Stockton bringing people and goods. During WWII there were no less than two shipyards making destroyers, balloon barges and tugs for the U.S. Navy. Stockton was also home to the Stephen's Bros. Boat Builders from 1902 to 1987. This is a Vintage Lantern or Lamp. It is marked OAKFORD on the metal base. The glass is thick and red in color. It is marked 9S 3129 TYPE- O. It has a loop handle and wire cord(that has been cut from where it must have originally been attached to) It is heavy. I have seen something similar that were made for railroad trains and marine ships. Maybe this in another type used for either of those? I am not sure and you may know more than I about this item. I'm not sure who this was made by but it has great patina looks like it was electric at one point fron the hole near the top would make a great light no cracks in lens 19" tall and approx 8" wide. Wilcox Crittenden Battery-operated Marine Lantern
What a find! The paper insert to this marine lantern shows it was manufactured by the Wilcox-Crittenden Division of North& Judd Manufacturing Co. which was formerly the marine company Wilcox. Crittenden& Company, which had operated in Middletown since 1869. But by 1971. The Wilcox-Crittenden Division was a Gulf + Western Precision Engineering Company, so in all likelihood, this lantern was manufactured in the 1960s. This is a battery operated light. I am not sure of the metal- I would have guessed brass. But I saw a similar one referred to as copper, so it could be either. The top has two screws that hold it in place, and there are two nuts(shown in the photos) that I assume hold the leads in place on the battery(there is no battery) The switch does turn and clicks. Someone had taped a note on the outside of the lantern to alert to ... morethe instructions inside. And that has left some cellophane tape residue on the outside, which I was nervous about trying to clean with anything stronger than soap and water, so it still is sticky.

VINTAGE OIL LANTERN FROM HONG KONG! Beautiful Transparent red glass globe and brass with"patina" and unusual logo. It says"Tung Woo" Hong Kong" with a flying horse in the center. I think it is a marine lantern? It measures approximately 7 1/2" wide& 11" tall. It has a wick and has been used(by myself) on occasion. It works great on your patio on the 4th of July. VINTAGE MAXLUMINA MODEL ML-155? GENUINE MARINE NAUTICAL RED LANTERN WORKING LAMP LIGHT. Dimensions: It measures approximately 19" in height by 9" diameter. The lamp was originally produced by the Tideland Signal Company and is probably the Maxlumina Model ML-155. When new. The marine lamp cost approximately $1400. Also, the piece is originally from Baltimore's Francis Scot Key Bridge over the Patapsco River a mile in front of Fort McHenry where Key wrote the Star Spangled Banner in 1814 now our National Anthem and remained there for many years. I bought this from a electrical contractor who serviced the bridge and replaced it years ago. This lantern was modified for home or garden use by attaching a 110 power cord. The lantern has both port& starboard lenses, with a dividing plate between the ribbed red& deep aqua green glass. The lantern has old silver paint with typical surface age. The interior lamp is brass& shows surface greening. The wick advances. One of the two side mounting brackets on the interior lamp is missing. The lantern displays very nicely& the glass on the lantern is free of any chips or cracks. No dents. It measures 11" high to the top of the holding ring by 4.5" wide and 7" deep.
