1914 Eli Griffiths & Sons Birmingham Brass Kerosene Wall Mounted Lantern
The burner of this lantern slides out and on the side of it is stamped Eli Griffiths& Sons Birmingham 1914. The Clip at the top of the lantern is stamped EG& S 1916. The brass lantern is intact and has not been restored. All the parts appear to be present. The slide which covers the opening to the burner adjustment needs to be reattached. The lantern is 16" high. 8" across the back and 5" front to back. Behind the burner is a white enamel reflector which is in excellent condition. The lantern is extremely heavy.

Vintage 1918 Eli Griffiths& Sons passenger ship companionway kerosene lanterns(2) I have up for auction. Two vintage lanterns with the initials E G& S 1918 stamped on them. There are no other identifying marks that I can find. I've researched through Google and found a lantern that looks exactly like these. Only that one is brass. They described theirs as" An ELI GRIFFITHS& SONS 1915 Passenger Ship Companion Way Kerosene Lantern in Brass" These lanterns appear to made of black painted tin with brass trim parts. 'ELI GRIFFITHS & SONS' 1912 ORIGINAL WW1 SHIPS BULKHEAD LANTERN
A really nice British Naval bulkhead lantern made by ELI GRIFFITHS& SONS of Birmingham in 1912. You will be very hard pressed to find one in better condition and it retains all it parts. Our images are before and after it was stripped down and repolished and show all the component parts. Condition- there are of course a few tiny dents here and there but it really is in remarkable condition considering it's age and the hard use it will have had. There is a split in the wooden handle where the wood has dried out. Height with handle extended is 19 1/2 inches. Weight 5 kilos and 180 grams. ANTIQUE ELI GRIFFITHS & SONS LARGE X49 MARITIME ANCHOR LIGHT
This is a wonderful very large antique anchor light manufactured by Eli Griffith& Sons Birmingham. It measures 21 inches high with the base measuring 9 inches across. It has a 360 degree clear lense that is in perfect condition. No cracks or holes. The body of the light is galvanized metal. It has a brass hinged plate on the top. Small brass plate"Eli Griffiths& Sons Birmingham X49 over a brass plate with the word"Anchor" Below Anchor plate is a brass turn knob to open the hinged top. This is a kerosene light but it is missing the kerosene burner inside. The only flaw I see on this piece is a small dent to the left of the makers plate otherwise it is in beautiful original condition.

1917 ELI GRIFFITHS SONS SHIPS BRASS RAILROAD LANTERN KEROSENE ENGLAND RED GLASS
Up for your consideration is this fabulous antique either ships or railroad lantern made by Eli Griffiths& Son's and dated 1917. This awesome lantern has the original red glass front and is cast bronze& brass. The lantern has the original kerosene holder that looks like it is solid brass. It fits into the lantern and is held in place by notches. There is a knob to adjust the wick and a plug that screws into where you pour the kerosene. The piece is marked Eli Griffiths& Son's 1917. Measures 2-1/2" by 4" and is about 3-1/2" tall. The lantern has a door on the side that slides up& down so you can remove the holder. The back of the inside has a brass reflector that is removable. The side of the door is also marked Eli Griffiths& Son's 1917. There is a small cover on the door that slides to let air ... moreinto the inside of the lantern. There is a metal& wood handle.The top of the lantern opens and there are metal slides on two sides with two appearing to be missing. They look like it controls the air flow also. Ther e are scuffs and a few dents here and there but nothing real detracting in my opinion. The bottom has four sturdy cast feet and in the middle is a screw that must have held the lantern in permanently in place. Lg. Antique Marine English Ship Candle Lantern Nautical Lamp Eli Griffiths+Sons
We are offering a rare antique nautical lantern made by Eli Griffiths& Sons of Birmingham. England! This large all-weather lantern was likely made for maritime use in the late 19th or early 20th century and held a single large candle protected behind five removable panes of glass that each measure 3 1/2" x 8" It is an unusually large and durable design that is typical of use in industry. The lantern stands 13 1/2" in height(17 1/2" with the wooden handle raised) and 7 7/16" in diameter at the base. It weighs 4 lbs, 12 oz. The metal is copper in color but is magnetic and so most likely tin. The hinged lid with a lockable clasp opens and closes smoothly, and reveals the interior black paint to be in very good condition. The mount that holds the candle has a slit in the side that allows the excess wax to flow out, ... moreand the candle to be burned all the way down. All five glass panels are intact with only minor chips along the edges typical of use. Stamped onto the lantern's lid is"E.G. S. LTD BIRMINGHAM" for Eli Griffiths& Sons.
