Pair of German Brass Ship Lanterns. Peters & Bey, Hamburg
Two beautiful. Original brass ship's lanterns from Germany. These lamps were converted to electric many years ago, and they work well. Size is 12" tall by 5" diameter. Nice patina, complete, and no damage to glass. These are very heavy lamps. The tag reads"JH Peters& Bey, Hamburg" We came across these at an estate sale many years ago, and inside one of them was a 3x5 card reading"Removed from a wrecked ship being salvaged in Taiwan in 1972" Hangers on top move freely. Power cord is wrapped within a chain from underneath.

Up for bid is this Beautiful Large Antique Boat/ Ships Kerosene J.H. Peters& Bey Hamburg 11 Nautical Maritime Lamp. It measures from the bottom to the top of the handle approx 24" and Width at the widest point is approx. 12 1/2" and weighs 15 lbs. It is constructed of Copper and Brass. It is Kerosene with a Red Lens to be used as a Nautical Maritime Signal Lamp. But I am not expert and am trying to give you the best description and details that I can. This is a great nautical piece in good condition! It appears to be complete. The metal rim around the top of the red lens is a bit loose. It has great patina. Which I left and did not want to clean as I feel that should be the buyer’s prerogative. I am displaying the red lens in my photos by adding light from a flashlight.not kerosene. Please view photos! Antique J.H.Peters & Bey Copper Ship Lantern Hamburg Germany 11
One vintage ship lantern. It does not have its tank and wick for lighting. This lantern measures 19 1/2" tall. With the hanging arm extended up it is 23"and 9" in diameter. The prism glass is not cracked. The copper exterior has been coated at some point to prevent it from darkening I believe. This is a family estate item purchased as I remember in the early 1980's, in Europe. Very hard to find now.

Antique J.H. Peters& Bey. Hamburg 11, Germany marine navigation ship lantern. This is a vintage possibly WWII era anchor light made by the German company J.H. Peters& Bey; Hamburg. The plate on the back of the anchor light reads"J.H. PETERS& BEY HAMBURG 11. The lamp body is made of galvanized metal and the chimney cap is made of copper. The Fresnel lens is hand-scribed with some information as seen in the photographs. Numbers inscribed include the number of the lamp(43344) and other information that is unknown. Approx. 16" tall without the iron swing handle up 19" and 8" total width. Under the copper top you can still see original soot from the lantern fixture. Truly a unique vintage piece. This lantern has been modified with a light fixture and wired. The light works great. It currently has a yellow bulb for ... morea great affect.
