And the base measures 2 1/8" wide. There are 2 small dents in the top dome, which can be popped out should you decide to do so(I will leave that up to the successful bidder) The burner has a wick and the wick turner works most of the time(a couple of times when I tried it it did not work but that may be due to the wick being so old. Up for auction is this old P ERKO ships lamp. It must be the largest lamp made by Perko. It stands an impressive 2 4" tall. With handle raised. M easures 11 1/2" wide and 9 1/2" deep. This could have been a cargo lamp. Steaming l ight. Anchor light, or a stern light. Not really sure. Somewhere on it's journey it was electrified and has a bulb inside and the burner is not present. It has a thick Fresnel lens that is turning purpl e with age and it has a crack in it that is stable. Doesn't detract much from the old lamp. Still displays beautifull y.With a r ich patina that adds to the salty character. This Perko lamp was made in Brooklyn. New York a long time ago and after being at sea for many years. Vtg Glass & chrome sail ship night light lamp nautical marine boat
Very nice nautical sail ship night light. Fair shape for it's age. No chips or cracks in the glass bottom. Glass bottom has chipped paint and chrome needs polishing. But it looks so cool lite up! The green and red colored plastic on the deck is cracked on each side, but not very noticable. All sails are there but strings need reattched in a few places. Large Anchor Brass Lantern Copper 19" lamp light ship nautical nautical marine
Some tarnish. Scuffs/etc and three brackets screwed into the base. A small ding or two that I wouldn't call dents, but you may. Approximately 10 inches across the bottom and 19 inches tall- 21 inches if you count the top handle- more if you count the bottom handle: I do not know if the oil burner works or ever was supposed to work. Unlike many of these lanterns this one still has the original Perko lamp inside as shown in pictures. The sliding hatch mechanism still works on this piece. It was used as a display piece in the house and they had a screw in the base of the signal to hold the sliding hatch open. Pair Large Solid Brass Marine Nautical Signal Lights Boat Lanterns Lamp
These are a great pair of Marine Nautical Lights. They are solid brass with heavy ribbed glass shades. They have been rewired and are in working condition. One of the lights has its original red insert so it can be used as a signal light. The 1st picture shows the lights with the red insert in one and a green light bulb in the second one if you wanted to use these that way. Or you can take out the red insert and have both lights clear as in the 2nd picture. Or put in any color bulb you choose. The lights are very heavy. The one with the insert is about 15 lbs and the other 13.5 lbs. These lanterns have handles that you can use to hang them or just for carrying. One of the lanterns has a little more copper tone to it then the other one and has 3 little feet to attach to a deck. The tops can be removed or slid to the side with the screws on ... morethe top to replace the lightbulbs. The globes are marked with a makers name. One of the shades has 2 small internal fissures at the bottom of the globe but they don't go all the way through the glass. There are a few dings and small indentations here and there typical of their age. See pictures) Other than that. They are in good condition and could use some cleaning. This Vintage Brass Marine Lantern is marked English Made on the wick adjuster. It measures 16 1/2 by 7 3/4 inches. It is hand crafted with rivets and solder. The work shows very good quality. It is in very good condtion with a couple of very small hard to find dents. The top and the globe unscrew to fill the tank. They are stuck with old fuel varnish and I do not intend to forcefully remove them. The wick moves up and down when the wheel is turned. The glass plates and globe are very good. This is an authentic original nautical/maritime portside glass lamp enclosure that many years ago was fashioned into a simply put. Fantastic lamp. There is a socket on the inside that illuminates the red glass and I must say that it looks incredible lit up. Obviously there is a socket at the top as well that will require the lamp shade of your choosing to complete the piece. I chose not to clean and scrub the piece so as to depict the age and authenticity more clearly. This is absolutely not a reproduction. I believe this starboard red lamp enclosure sat atop a piling somewhere in some waterway for who knows how many years.
