I cannot find any others to compare it to on ebay and there are no markings on the light other than on the socket inside the lamp and on the side as shown are the letters P&O. I am not sure if this was a gas type light or not. Although it has a socket where a bulb or something would have fit but on the side of the light it looks like a flint or sparker. The light will need the chrome trim cleaned.Sorry I am not much help here, please see the pictures and maybe someone out there can tell me more. The works are mounted on a nice piece of oak and there are exposed wires etc on the back. It appears the glass is missing however the clip holder to hold the glass guard in is in the metal hood. The metal hood is hinged and has holes to let the heat escape. The light measures 11" long x 5" wide and weighs unpackaged 3-1/2 pounds.At the top of the light is a knob that can be turned to control the brightness i am guessing. I will combine items to save on shipping expenses, but please contact me for shipping rates as they vary depending on location, and the rates shown are only a ball park and apply only to Canada not including postal tax. This pair measure 11" tall from top loop and are in good condition with plenty of wear, minor dents, a gold paint job and some minor chips on the reflectors(see pic 6& 7) The interior of both are as shown but they did come with two tin plates that originaly held the oil lamp. Very Nice Pair of Brass Maritime Ships Lanterns- Lamps Up for auction is this very nice pair of antique brass maritime ships lanterns/ lamps. They are in excellent condition with NO major damage as shown. I am not sure if they are mining or ships lanterns but I was told they are ships lanterns. They have a handle on the back that folds. A chimney, inside components that are marked Barton Burner Co, and they measure 10.25" high x 4-1/4" x 3-3/4" at the base. ~~RARE Antique PERKO Brass Marine Maritime Nautical Ship Lanterns Finger Lamps~~
I have a pair of rare vintage brass Perko marine ship's lamps or lanterns. They used to be kerosene or oil but were converted to electric. They are in wonderful shape with no dents or damage and everything is intact. they do however have wear that is consistent with age. Each lantern has a finger lamp inside that is removable as shown in the pictures. A 4 inch reflector/ mirror, and 3 glass panels. Each is also stamped with a brass tag that reads" PERKO Manufacturer's Reg. Trademark Perkin's Marine Lamp& Hardware Corp. Miami Florida USA" on the front and another stamp on the back that reads the same thing. They both measure almost 14" tall. one being about 1/4" taller than the other one. You can definitely tell that these gems were handmade. These are very cool nautical decorations or gifts!

Purchased at Alameda Antique Fair in California 15 years ago and kept them just as they are. I was going to clean them up but I think best to leave alone. There are no cracks in the glass.
