GE Novalux antique copper/brass spotlight floodlight
For sale is a GE Novalux projector/floodlight/spotlight for around 1929. The bell is made of copper and the arms are solid cast brass. These lights were sometimes used as a searchlight on ships or to light up the piers at night when the ships came in to be unloaded. They are becoming increasingly hard to find and are a very visually stunning piece once cleaned up. These lights are complete minus a small amount of wiring work. the light sockets are there but as in the one picture the cords were cut when they were removed so just add a plug and they should work. All the others I've seen the inner mirror is smooth where as these have a faceted mirror.There is some wear on the mirrors but they are solid as well. I actually have 3 i am selling so if you want more then one email me and we can work something out. GE novalux marine spotlight, Copper brass, vintage. steampunk
This is a GE Novalux copper brass marine spot light. It has survived a attack by a squadron of red rider packing boy scouts and has multiple bb gun shots to the body and 3 in the lens. It has been rewired with a 110 heavy duty 3 prong cord. It has a sylvania 1000 watt bulb in it that works. The front glass is 15 1/2 inches across. It is approximately 27 inches tall on the stand and approximately 20 inches deep. It is hard to measure due to its shape. All the pieces are there that I can tell. It is a very cool piece of history. Vintage RARE Antique Novalux GENERAL ELECTRIC COPPER LIGHT GE Flood Spot Light
General Electric architectural skyscraper. Building, copper flood light. Model 2AL. The brackets are marked General Electric Made In U.S.A. Model 2AL and has some other numbers and Pat. Number. It has a front glass 15-3/4" in diameter. The glass is marked in the center with GE some numbers that look like KG1 and Front Glass 15-3/4"D Made in U.S.A. It is approx. 22" high with the bracket. It is wired for 220 but it has not been tested. It is in very nice condition. No dents, there are a couple of cracks on the inside lens, the front glass is good, no chips or cracks. Vintage Copper Spot Light w/ Brass Yoke GE Novalux- Fully Restored- Rewired Here is a beautiful. Rare and unique, high end piece of lighting called the Novalux Projector by General Electric. Everything that is metal on this light is either solid copper or solid brass. It was built this way so it could hold up against the weather on a boat, on the outside of a building, outdoor monument lighting, etc. The light housing itself is copper along with every clamp and screw attached to it. The yoke, mounting bracket, and huge wing nuts are all solid brass. The bracket mounting foot is also made by General Electric and has the instantly recognizable logo prominently placed on the top of the bracket. Everything is original to the light, including the glass lens and reflector. The entire light has been disassembled and restored with great care. The ... morepatina is perfect and lets you know this is a genuine antique light from the 1930's. This light could be polished up shinier than a new penny. But while I was cleaning I decided to stop at a certain point so it would retain its 80 year old charm. I have also rewired the light so it can be safely used inside of a home. I will include a 500 watt bulb that fits into the original mogul socket. Upon request, I can include a mogul to standard bulb adapter that will allow buyer to use any standard base bulb of choice(for any setting) It even has the original copper metal clad cable to protect the new wiring, which is just another little thing that makes this light stand out from others you might see. The solid copper MC cable is a rare item in itself and pictures will further show the nice solid brass MC connectors, both at the light's wire entry point(in the pot itself) as well as on the terminal pig tail end.
