The lamp stays level at any angle. It also has wear to the finish with corrosion on several spots. So study the pictures carefully. Although most of the piece is made of brass I suspect the shade is a different metal, perhaps copper. I have not tried lighting the lamp(no oil) so I can't say how well it works. This listing is for the Frame Only. For a vintage, Perko/ Perkins Marine Brass Lantern. It is in very good condition, with no damage. It measures about 12" high(not including the handle) and the base is 6 3/4" in diameter. Again, this is for the frame part only. Brass Anchor Lantern Columbia River Lightship LV-88, Meteorite Marine Lamp Gift?
This"Meteorite" 3M" anchor light was removed from the US Coast Guard Lightship LV-88 by her last owner. The body of this lamp is a brass or copper alloy by the look of it and the original fresnel lens is present. There are galvanized iron wire hangers top and bottom to raise and secure the light on board ship. The original burner is present along with plenty of soot and in general it is just as it was when last used. Overall condition is good. No cracks or broken joints, but there are three fairly large dents and various small ones as typical of a lantern used on a ship for years. The lens is in very good condition with the exception of one area of chipping about 1.5" long as shown in the photo. The lens a good quality casting with a trademark of three"G"s within a pyramid. In my opinion this is typical of the ... morekind of wear you see on these lanterns, particularly anchor lights which were frequently hauled up and down for lighting and extinguishing. I have not asked. But I can probably get a letter or note from the man who owned the ship attesting to the provenance of this lantern. I do not promise that to the buyer as I have not asked, just occurred to me while writing this) but I think he would probably not mind doing so. In any even, I guarantee the provenance 100% This would make a wonderful gift for a collector of marine antiques or a former lightship crewman etc. A coppersmith or silversmith could remove the dents quite easily in my opinion. And of course polishing would an option. If the buyer wishes, I can arrange to have this soda-blasted at the buyer's cost. This removes all soot, dirt and oxidization and yet does not stipple or affect the surface of the metal or glass in any way. This treatment is an excellent preparation for display or further cleaning or polishing. This will be very carefully packed in box at least 16x16x24. Weighing at least 22lbs. Shipping is at cost. Antique Collectible Perkins Marine Maritime Nautical Lamp Lantern NO RESERVE
Perkins Marine Lantern/Lamp Mfrd by: Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation. Brooklyn, NY This is a highly collectible antique marine lantern/lamp. This was inherited from a grandparent and has been in my storage for at least a decade alone. I do not know the exact age but can only guess it is at least 50 years plus. This lantern has a chain attached to hang from a ceiling or other and takes a standard lightbulb. I do not know if this was the original configuration or it was modified like this. It has not been damaged by other modifications like similar lamps offered on eBay that are attached to bases or made into lamps. I have never polished this item so I assume it is brass and not copper. The dimensions are approximately 18 in. from the top of the handle to the bottom of base. It is 14 and 3/4 in. tall without the handle. The width is approximately ... more7 and 1/2" The condition is excellent except two minor spots. First. All of the rods that protect the glass are all present in place and not bent or otherwise damaged. However, the top of one of the rods(see photo) is loose. This will need to be re-brazed in place which I am told is a easy and cheap fix. The second spot is a small dent on the base of the lantern(see photo) This could be hammered out easily or left alone to show the lamps character. The glass is clear and intact but has a minor nick or two in a couple of the ridges which are not noticeable without searching for, but there are NO Cracks or other damage to the glob. Similar lamps on eBay have starting prices of almost $200 and go past $500 and do NOT include shipping. And they are missing parts and in far worse condition. Just the replacement glass alone goes for at a minimum of $50 to $100. I hope you get a great bargain on this beautiful antique. There is NO reserve and shipping is FREE! Good Luck!

Antique nautical marine lantern brass fresnel lens lamp
Up for bids is a wonderful old lamp from a local estate. It stands about 10 1/4" tall not including the ring on top. It measures about 5 1/2" wide. The lamp was electrified at some pint long ago. The original burner was removed and a porcelain socket was installed in its place. The cord. Switch and plug are all in good shape. The socket takes a standard base light bulb. It comes with a mounting bracket attached to a pine board. The board measures about 10 5/8"x 6" The board is varnished and has nicely chamfered edges. The bracket does not look original to the lantern, but does a good job and holds the lantern snugly in place. I have used this lamp on a table as well as on the wall. It makes a great accent light. Antique PERKO lantern with a thick Ruby Red lens which has a tiny chip. The lantern measures approximately 10 1/2" high(not including the handle- 1 3/4" and 7" wide. It has little Christmas Tree vents at the top and at the posterior bottom. Hinged door opens to an interior ring. Interior burner is missing. The well known PERKO company has been making marine lanterns since the early 1900's in Brooklyn. NY. I have no idea how old this lantern is. A small tag is on the top of it with the name of the company, and the top also has a serial number on it. This is probably a marine lamp, originally made of copper and brass and painted black on the outside. This has a heavy glass Fresnel lens that goes all the way around the source of light inside, which is currently an electrical light bulb, which we believe was a later addition to this piece. The electrical cord has been cut and tied in a knot, so it would need to be rewired, or you can easily remove the socket. The swing handle is made of heavy wrought iron. Very Large Vintage Antique Ship's Lantern Old estate find. This is a very large lantern made by Durkee Marine Products of Staten Island, NY. It is made of an old galvanized metal. With an iron folding handle on the top. The handle has a loop for hanging. There is a large round shade, and a heavy thick glass shade. The lantern is flat in the back where it looks like it would be mounted. Somewhere along the way. Someone decided to electrify the lantern. There is an electric cord that comes out through the top and a light fixture inside. The cord has a plug and a switch. The bottom piece that I guess was the oil tank at one time has a cut out opening that is used to access the light bulb. This vintage marine lantern is a corner piece. The green glass indicates that it is a starboard light. It is comprised of copper at the top and appears to be nickel or steel for the body. There is a bottom hatch that opens in order to place a candle to illuminate the green glass. Bottom hatch does not stay tightly closed on its own so I would suggest securing it closed if you intend to use a candle in it. The lantern is 11" tall and 6" at its widest. This vintage marine lantern would be a great addition to any nautical collection. It would look smashing high on the wall in the corner of the room to give ambient lighting. FABULOUS. Isn't it? Vintage. Brass(with glass inserts) hanging lantern. Inside oil lamp comes out to refill etc. Top unlatches as well too(as pictured) There is an imperfection(which looks like a chip. But you cannot"feel" it by touch) on the actually tiny hurricane glass piece surrounding the lamp piece itself. Residue left on the top"latch" of the piece from previous burning. However, there are two old solder repairs to the two burner spring clips, and at some point someone cut a crude hole in the bottom hinged cover plate for an electric wire. Glass lenses appear to be the originals and are in good condition with NO cracks or chips. Still in very nice overall condition, just needs cleaning and polishing-if desired. Converted Antique Marine Lamp Cargo Lantern Brass Viking Ships Steampunk
Antique Viking Cargo Lantern Converted to AC 110-120 v with Edison Bulb Just finished my latest conversion using an old Viking mast lantern using antique and vintage electrical parts. This is a larger Viking lamp. Measuring approx 14-1/2" from the base to the top not including the wire hangers. If the hangers are included it is about 21" Thought the original old lamp was too small for the conversion so I did not use it. Instead I used an antique porcelain fitting with a brass top from a part from an antique Aladdin oil lamp. These were joined by a friction fit and further cementing with high heat silicon which does not show. The on/off switch is also old. 1940 or older is my guess. All the wiring is new reproduction cloth covered twisted pair wire. The bulb, which is included, is a 60 watts. 8 filement reproduction Edison type bulb. ... moreThe lit bulb in my pictures doesn't show up well due to the brightness. It is quite beautiful to see when lit. At the end of the cord is an antique 2 prong vintage plug. likely 20's or 30's. This lamp was made to hang from a hook or wall bracket. Perhaps in a corner, over a period piece of furniture or in an alcove. Have put on extra wire that the buyer can trim to fit the space. The switch hangs free and was intended to hang conveniently down a wall for easy reach. This could be removed if the light were to be used with a wall switch or dimmer. The repro Edison bulb is included and is brand new but we do not guarantee them. They seem to be a bit more fragile regular bulbs. My experience is that they last longer if put on a dimmer and turned down about 10% We pack well and have shipped world wide since 1998. Lamp is rounded, electric,complete with the thick glass cover. I am thinking that this lamp was possibly use along the harbor. The metal casing is intact and possibly brass/copper? F H LOVELL& CO.Antique Brass Nautical Ships Lantern late 1800's lamp. This lantern looks great! The glass is thick and very old. There are no flaws.Chips or cracks in the glass. I was going to electrify this lantern but it would not go with any of our other decor.Just a couple of slight dents in the brass from use. Right now there is no means by which to light this lantern. I dropped in a light bulb to show off the color of the glass when illuminated. This is a great piece of history. F H Lovell started around the civil war era. It made marine lanterns primarily. By the early 1920's the name was changed because the company merged with a railroad lantern company so this lantern was most likely manufactured around 1880. The lantern is 10 inches tall(14 inches tall with handle) and the width is 9 inches in diameter.

Vintage National Marine Lamp Co. # 11 Boat Signal Lantern
This Handheld Oil Burning Boat Signal Lantern is in fairly good condition considering its age. Has the scratches that I would expect to see. The wick is new in the burner which leads me to believe it was replaced because the interior does have some burn marks from use. The lens is in great shape and spring loaded action is as stiff as ever. Probably made between 1900- 1950 and the exact date of manufacture is unknown to me. Stands 9" tall and has about a 3 1/2" diameter.

It is signed PERKO on the bottom of the lamp. The burner is signed Made in the USA and I think Miller but it is very hard to read. The rod going across the bottom Pick# 3 is to screw and lock the lamp in place in the lantern. The ends of the rod Pick#4 sticking out on either side are used to lock the lamp into the lantern. The lamp is 3 3/4" high 5 1/2" to the top of the burner 10 3/4" to thr top of the chimney and 4" in diameter. The burner will screw into a standard $2 collar. Fishing boats, etc. It has 3 bullseye lens. Red, green, and clear. The lantern is made of galvanized tin. The round top is brass. The lantern is complete with the original font burner. There is a handle and a mounting bracket on the back. The wire door latch mechanism works well. The lantern is 8 1/4 inches in height.The lantern is in all original as found, uncleaned condition with great patina. No holes. Just a few minor rust spots but no pitting. The date is also stamped on the chimney but cannot be read. Fully functional. Heavy gauge brass with copper rivets lantern complete with all its original parts. Used aboard a ship as a bulkhead, cabin, wardroom lamp/ lantern. Bulpitt and Sons LTD is imprinted on both the chimney and Bulpitt on the oil tank. Manufactured by famed English maker. Bulpitt and Sons, Birmingham, England. This is an extraordinary and rare item in excellent condition. The lantern measures 16" at the tallest chimney point and 20" with the wooden handle extended. 8" wide at the back, 5" deep. Weighs amost 11 lbs. The back is flat and boasts a huge brass clip ... morewith copper rivets for sturdy mounting. The front is three-sided with glass windows which are all intact, with no cracks or chips. The original brass burner is also in excellent condition with a wick, not sure it is the original. The stamp on the burner clasp reads Bulpitt. A brass reflector wall is behind the burner. The burner looks as though never used and slides out easily through the glass door on the right. There is also a slide on the side of the door that moves to expose an opening without having to open the door. The chimney top opens and the entire top is hinged to flip back allowing access to the chimney. It even still has the solid brass knob on the front lower corner. There are a few small dents consistent with its age. But it does not detract from the overall beauty of this gorgeous piece of British seafaring history. This would make a great piece to add to any maritime nautical collection.

Vintage Copper Marine Light Lantern Made in Hong Kong Probably Anchor
I don't know anything about this lantern. I looked in my lantern book. And it looks right for an anchor light. The book says they were usually brass, but this one, where there is any finish left, looks much more like copper. The only marking is on the bottom and it reads Hong Kong. The glass is intact, and very thick and heavy. There is no burning unit inside, and it's not electrified, so I don't know how it was ever used to burn anything. There is a vent on the top that opens to the inside, that is missing its' top cover. There are no holes in the body of the lamp, but lots of rust. This is about 9 1/2" tall. It's neat, and I've not seen one like it, but I have no idea how it works. When you shake the lamp, you can hear rust flakes inside the sealed tank. Antique Nautical Marine Oil Lantern to start a new paragraph use- This is a great example of an antique marine oil lantern. It's one of the best ones I've seen. The main body ~ top/bottom is free of dents. The hanger and tie downs are intact. The wires or cage is there and in good condition. The glass is free of chips on the outside, has some of the little flea bite size around the rim on the bottom inside like they all do. And the bottom oil lamp part is there, the hinge works and it stays closed when you hold it up. I don't see a mark on the glass, but this looks like a Perkins lantern. At one time had a finish on it ~ I have left this, it does chip off if you care to totally remove it and just have that old zinc/tin look, but right now it has great patina! I have pretty much left it in"as found" condition, I wiped ... morethe glass off inside and out. It measures 8 3/4 inches tall with the top ring down and about 10 1/8 with it up. Antique Perko Delite Marine Brass and Steel Bow Oil Lantern Red & Green
For sale is a nice old marine lamp-lantern made by Perko De Lite Lamp. This one is made of copper and what appears to be galvanized metal. It has the original oil lamp inside and a green and a red glass lens. They are both in good shape and not broken. Mounting bracket on back with original Perko brass tag. Hanging or holding loop on top. This Nautical Ship Lantern measures 10" x 5½" x 5" It is all original and uncleaned. The gentleman I got this from said he used to use the lantern in it when he camped as a kid. Inside you can see the carbon left from when the lamp was lit. I think if this was wired right. It would make a beautiful and different kind of light for a nautically decorated room.

Very Rare PURPLE Masthead Signal Lantern made by Perko from the early 1900s. This piece is in remarkable shape including a lens with no cracks and only a couple minor chips. Additionally it contains all of the original lamp socket hardware. Once it has new wiring installed it will function as new assuming you can find the appropriate light bulbs. Five bulbs are included but have not been tested. The Brass/Bronze casing has some residual paint spots from a few paintings over the years. The Brass up rods also have some discoloration. This all lends itself perfectly to the wonderful patina of this maritime treasure. Due to it's amethyst colour. The Fresnel lens is likely to have been made of manganese dioxide decolorized glass which was produced up until about 1920. The PERKO trademark was registered by Perkins Marine Lamp. Vintage Large Electric Perko Marine Lamp Lantern Was told this is a WWII bow Convoy lamp. The deep purple glass was used as a very short range lamp so as to avoid U-boats from detecting them. It is in very good condition for its age. There are no chips or cracks in glass. Has a screw off top. There are a few minor dings on the top, but overall, it is in very good condition. Power cord measures 11' Measures: 15"H, 9.5"W. Would make a great conversation piece or an excellent addition to a WWII collection. Great vintage piece.not many of these left. Burner stamped THE NATIONAL MARINE LAMP CO. metal plate on the flat back side has a patent date of APRIL 1ST 1913. 10" tall to the top of the ring on top, 4 3/4" wide, 4 1/2" deep, galvanized metal. The burner is rusted through and is missing one of two metal tabs that held it in place. The metal lantern shows areas of surface rust but is solid and not flimsy in any way, ding on the cupola where the ring is mounted, both pieces of glass in good condition. It would be simple to electrify or even easier to place a battery op light inside and enjoy the colored glass. Offered for your consideration is this nice PAIR of kerosene oil lights. Made by the Marine-Division of the Artistic Brass and Bronze Works New York NY. Each light has a makers tag attached to the front of the base. Both lights look to be pretty complete with oil burner and chimneys still there. Sorry no wall mounting brackets. I am not sure if the wicks are still in them. The knob that raises and lowers the wick is very hard to turn on both lanterns. I think the wick mechanism needs to be cleaned. There is a very minor amount of corrosion on the tops of the bases. Each lantern measures about 18" tall to the top of the handle. Base measures about 7" across.
