Look to be made out of brass and galvanized, and the exterior of the galvanized is painted a flat black. Both lenses appear to be in great shape and are stamped'Perkins C/L 3 Side' and'FIC259 Mould No 3' They are approx 12" x 6" x 6" each and weigh about 3 3/4 lbs each. Antique Marine Navigators Lantern Brass Signal Lamp w original Candle Boat Light
Antique Maritime Boat Navigators Lantern! It is Marked Navigators Lantern but it is so covered in old paint you can only make out the L. See pics. Somewhat rare piece. Brass with Original glass and original candle, see pics. Stands about 8 1/2" tall not including handle/hanger. It's been painted black over what looks like it's original green. Most of these I've seen have a back piece with two metal"handles" So either this one came without them and with this hanger or the handles were removed and the hanger added later. However I don't see any removal holes anywhere on the back but I do see possible old weld marks covered up with old paint. There is a metal peg missing on the front that slides the inner door around to block the light. The door does slide. It has both the inner brass slide door and blackened metal ... moresheathe. Hard to show in pics. Paint is severely flaked. It is in it's original condition as is the candle see pics. Glass is not chipped nor cracked but dingy, needs cleaned and has a cool air bubble in it but you can only see it when it's opened and I didn't get a picture. Very solid hinges are tight and fine. One small dent near globe on it's right if facing it. Hard to see but I got the best pic I could of it. Clasp is strong and door shuts tightly. Nothing wiggles or moves around. You could actually use this right now. All in original condition. The only thing I'm not definite on is it's age. It could be back as far as the Civil War era or just late 1800's. It is believed to have been used as a Railroad signal lantern. conductor's lamp on a train here in the Southwest but I have no evidence to prove that. Fantastic vintage Perko Mast glass threaded globe. 3" diameter fresnel ball globe. Bee hive shape. Clear glass. A few small chips to the bottom threaded cut edge of the glass globe, seen in pictures. No chips to the outer bee hive circular edges. A small amount of shallow surface scratches, that do not show much in the pictures. No damage to the glass is visible when threaded to the metal base. Very nice pair of brass port and starboard oil lamps. I dont see any markings on either of them. May or may not be antique. Would look great cleaned up. I have not used them so cannot 100% guarantee that they work. Wicks look good. And move up and down. I do not see any holes in oil containers. Red coloring is flaking off of the port lantern. Vintage Brass Marine Swivel Kerosene Wick Lamp D.H.R. Holland Beautiful Boat
Here for auction is a wonderful vintage Marine boat lamp. I believe this to be run on kerosene. Has the mounting bracket that screws to the wall. Has a double swivel deal that will keep it straight while the boat is rocking. The wick does not appear to have been burned so I don't know if the wick is new or if this has just never been fired. It is all brass and has a great weight to it. Stands approx 5.5" tall and 4.75" side to side. The swivel arm has a great design to it as shown. There are scratches and tarnish to the metal and a ding that I can see on the side. This may have has a glass globe at some point but that is no longer here if it did. The bottom of the globe size would be approx 2" Very nice piece of maritime lighting and an ingenious way of keeping the lamp straight during rolling sea's.On the dial it is ... moremarked: D.H.R. Weathered and has some rust and oxidizing on the lantern. The top hanging part is loose as screws not secure in the back of it. I believe it is copper and or brass. I do not see any name on the lantern. There are no dents on the lantern. Front screw opening. The front has the word PORT. The light is heavy red glass. Not plastic. There is no interior piece that lights the lantern. The glass has come loose and the metal frame has separated in the corner but all of this can be fixed. Could use a cleaning/polishing. For its age. It is in very good condition.
