They are solid brass and weigh about 27 pounds each. The screw off top weighs at least 1 pound. The dimensions are about 17 inches high by 11 + inches on a side. They have two sockets in each lamp. The pictures show the color with only a single 40 watt bulb. They should probably be rewired as the wiring looks old. They are in excellent condition and have been stored for many decades. There is a very substantial brass mounting bracket on the side of each lantern. I was told they came from a liberty ship used in World War II. For sale is a nice old marine lamp-lantern made by Perko De Lite Lamp. This one is made of copper and what appears to be galvanized metal. It has the original oil lamp inside and a green and a red glass lens. They are both in good shape and not broken. Mounting bracket on back with original Perko brass tag. Hanging or holding loop on top. This Nautical Ship Lantern measures 10" x 5½" x 5" It is all original and uncleaned. The gentleman I got this from said he used to use the lantern in it when he camped as a kid. Inside you can see the carbon left from when the lamp was lit. I think if this was wired right. Vintage Brass Wilcox Crittenden Conn Ship Boat Light Lantern Lamp Red & Green
I do not know how old this lantern is. I think that it is old enough to be considered vintage or possibly antique. The oval plate on the back of it reads. Wilcox, Crittenden& Co. Inc. Middletown, Conn. U.S.A. It appears to be brass. Most of the photos make the metal look redder than it actually is. The photos where the metal looks like it has a very slight greenish tint are closer to representing the actual color. I see where the close-up of the hole where the burner goes makes the edges look like maybe the metal is not brass. In real life. That is not the case. The edges look like brass. A magnet will not stick to any of the lantern and I believe that it is solid brass. I have provided a photo of the bottom being held up to a light to show how it might look when illuminated. Not including the ring at the top. It measures about 9 ½ ... moreinches high. The ring at the top adds about 1 3/4 inches. It weighs about 2 pounds 3.5 ounces. The divider is removable. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. The burner is missing. Otherwise. It is generally in excellent condition. The tarnish is a little uneven and there is a little green oxidation on the back that you can see in a photo. I have provided a close-up of a bend in the edge of the hole for the burner. I do not know if it should be there or not. A close-up shows a small shallow depression just below the seam on the chimney. I do not know if it was made that way or not. Otherwise, are no dents in the metal or breaks or cracks in the glass. The inside and a little of the outside of the glass could use some cleaning. It looks like there is some soot on the inside of the top part. There is a little of some kind of dark hard gunk on the bottom that you can see in the photo of the bottom. Large antique Perko ship lantern metal/Green glass
This lantern is from my Grandfather's collection and unfortunately he's unable to give me specifics on it. This is believed to be a ship lantern but the globe has"PERKO" near seam. Measures approximately 20" tall and 10" at widest point. This lantern is solid. Weighs approximately 12 pounds. Needs to be cleaned up, it's dirty from years in storage. My Grandfather said it worked when packed up years ago, this is being sold UNTESTED. I have not taken this apart or done any extensive cleaning. The Globe appears solid but looks like there could be some deep cracks although the surface is smooth. The glass has a few scratches and chips. I've photographed all imperfections. Facial damage consists of chipping on outer edge of ribbing, back-side edges and corners show usage chipping, mostly flea-bite size. manufacturing air bubbles The chipping is shallow(is not missing large chunks of glass) with only 2 spots being dime size and the remainder being various pea sizes and smaller. While it simply needs an experts touch. This item has been in storage near Mobile Bay, Alabama and previously belonged to my grandfather who worked at and retired from the shipyard in the early 1970's. The finds are sporadic at times, and not grouped or labelled. This lens sat alone wrapped in paper and reinforced with cloth electrical tape that had stiffened and lost its sticky. Vintage Red and Blue / Green Bow lights Solid Brass, never used! Perko
You are receiving both the red and blue lights in this auction. They are older. But seem unused, perhaps a project that never got finished. I have also listed a stern light separately, I am unsure if they are for the same boat, so I separated them. The pictures detail areas were the brass looks unfinished, it is just where the joints were soldered. Each light is 5 inches tall at the highest point and measure just under 4 inches deep from inside corner to the outer rounded area. Here is a VERY NICE OLD heavy 2 1/2 pound BRONZE/BRASS Boat Bow Light. This has a red/green plastic lens held to the light with a front screw on bracket. This appears to have been once chrome plated and there are a couple of specs where some has remained but it mostly a"HIGH GLOSSY POLISHED" Light. This"TEARDROP STYLE" light is about 5 1/4 long and 4 inches tall. There is a mounting bracket base that is attached to the light base ALL ONE PIECE. There are no mounting screws. There is wiring but no inside bulb. I do not know what type of old boat this came from but I have not seen one like this. VERY UNIQUE PIECE. There is a slot on top where a flag would be mounted. Pair of Vintage Marine Marker Buoys with Red and Green KOPP lenses - Working
Offered for sale is a pair of Marine Marker Buoys with Red and Green lenses. They are used but as you can see by the pictures. The buoys are in very good condition and are operational. Ideal for driveway markers or decoration where an authentic nautical décor is desired such as waterfront, backyard, garden, office, pub, restaurant, etc. The lenses were manufactured by KOPP Glass of Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania. The“green” is more of a turquoise in the daylight but shows green when illuminated at night. The red is a nice dark ruby red. The Buoys are approximately 23” tall and 12” wide at the widest point. The lenses are 8 ¾” outside diameter x 7 ½” inside diameter x 7” high. They have 7"ribs" above and below the main centre beveled band. And are smooth on the inside. Ruggedly built from aluminum and stainless steel to ... morehandle the harsh marine environment. They should last a lifetime. There is no corrosion in the bulb socket or on any of the electronics. The bulbs are#1521 10.3V 5/5W. Antique Brass Two Color Boat Lantern Found in upstate New York. I am told that this is a lantern from the barges that they used on the Erie Canal. The lantern has a flat back and a rounded glass shade in the front. The glass is divided in the middle by a brass shield that extends from the front of the lantern- one side is colored green, the other side red, I guess to signal whether you were coming or going. On the top is a nice decorated piece that has little cut out heart shapes and a ring handle. On the bottom, there is a flap that can fold out showing the inside burner. The burner can be removed for filling and has wick with a turning knob. The lantern is in good antique condition, the glass is intact it is ready to display. Original tarnished patina. Very nice set of vintage lanterns. In decent shape. A very few minor blemishes. One has a green bulb and the other has a red one. Made of copper or tin. Do not think they are brass. Very light weight. On the lanterns"Starboard" and"Port" are etched. Do not know much about these. They are old and say Hong Kong on the bottoms. No other markings. I only came across two other sets identical to these online. That where sold in the past. So they are rare. They have been in storage for a few years so are in very good condition. This is the only one of this type that we have had. It features a plastic red/green inner lens(180 deg each) and has an automatic bulb switcher with four bulbs(all working) When a bulb blows the mechanism automatically rotates a fresh bulb to the top position. This unit also has the a light sensor so that the light will automatically come on at dusk. The red/green sleeve can be easily removed with two screws if you wish to simply have a clear lens light and likewise the sensor can be disconnected should you prefer a switched arrangement. The clear lens was manufactured by KOPP Glass of Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania and the buoy is approximately 23” tall and 12” wide at the widest point. Vtg Perkins PERKO Marine Boat Lamp Starboard Bow Green Red Glass Light Lantern
This listing is for a vintage Perkins PERKO Marine boat Kerosene Lamp. Finding one in better condition than this one will be a challenge. The lamp is made of Galvanized metal and has a Brass Top/Finial and the Kerosene lights hardware is made of Brass. The Dark Green and red lens are made of Glass and are chip and damage free. The design of this lamp is different than most others. The inside hardware is accessible from the bottom of the lamp only. It has ingenious spring loaded tabs of each side. If you want to pull out the hardware you simply squeeze the tabs and pull the hardware out. As you can see from the photo's the Brass hardware is in excellent condition and includes what is probably the original wick.I think this lamp has spent most of it's life indoors. The outside Galvanized Metal is also in excellent condition. Nothing ... moreis loose. All corners etc very tight construction. The top finial piece with hanging loop is made of Brass. I did not clean this. Left the original patina. I did however clean the Brass Perkins/ Perko identification tag because I could not read what it says. Early 1900's Marine Lamp (tugboat) W/ Green Lens MACBETH - EVANS GLASS COMPANY !
Up for auction is a great antique marine lamp with a green top and clear bottom lens. There is a 2" raised spot in the green lens part(probally how it got damaged) Could have been for a tugboat I was told from the previous owner. Name on the glass lens reads MACBETH- EVANS GLASS COMPANY MACBETH PITTSBURGH. It measures 12.5" across the front lens x 19.5" tall. In overall good condition. There is a crack in the lens. And a couple small bruises. THIS IS A RARE EARLY MARINE LAMP, the damage in the lens hurts, but still almost impossible to find these! Other than that, the exterior brass around the lens and the cast iron bracket and housing is in great condition other than some wear from age and use. Please see all pictures and ask any questions that you may have. I could not get the front lens part open, im sure it will, but I ... moredidnt want to apply to much pressure to open it. Antique PERKO Perkins Bronze Port & Starboard Red & Green Ships Running Light
Great Maching pair of Vintage Perko bronze signal lights.these are old ones. Measure 5 inches tall 5" wide and 4 deep. Looks like they were built in or flush mount style. Red Glass lens reads Perkins No 2 Blue lens reads Mld 2 Fig 259.both have some chips. But not visible when mounted in the fixtures. Stamped Perko on the access housing to the bulb. They have some old paint on they.I am sure will come off. Great Antique pair.Probably came off an Old Wooden Chris Craft or Egg Harbor
