There is some patina and light scratches on cast bronze brass housing-looking down into center of lens glass. Part of the electrical cord remains inside- This piece sits on a wood blog base with the cord that enters the bottom of lantern and runs thru the center of wood block base that measures 9" x 9 1/2" This Fresnel lantern light overall height is 7 1/2" sitting on wood block and weighs more than 13 lbs. This red glass lantern has Fresnel lens all-round lantern with protective brass bars and bronze screw on top. Good vintage condition; no dents in the brass and only a couple small sliver chips on a couple of louvers of red fresnel glass; The brass lid is a bit tight for me to screw on and off using a wrench. This piece was made to use as a table light- with outlet cord and plug that looks older. Plugs in fine and needs a bulb- but I could not open top with bolts- my hands were not strong enough to turn wrench. It likely needs a small bulb and would work fine. Here is a great nautical set of large ship brass and copper lanterns for your buying consideration. Recently acquired them at an auction that a party's collection of marine/nautical items were being sold. We will have a number of these pieces for sale separately in our Ebay store. The lanterns would make a great gift or keep them for yourself. I would guess these lanterns are of pre-World War II vintage. The lamps were made by Yankee American Auto Lamp Co. They were in NY. Great set of port(red) and navigation(blue) metal and brass ship lanterns for your decor needs. The lanterns were probably electrified originally and are now electrified for home decor ... moreneeds. The lanterns still have the hanging rings on the top of them. The red lens lantern has a brass colored finish. The blue lens lantern has a nickel plated finish. The lenses in each one are glass and not cracked or blistered. Only exception is blue one which has a blister that runs about 1.5" across the top of it where it meets the metal of the lantern. The lantern cases are in good shape. They show some finish loss and some minor dings and dents. Each lantern is 6" tall. By 4.5" across, by 4.5" wide. The cords in the lanterns are older, but still look to be in usable condition. I would recommend you have the cords and wiring checked out by a professional look at before using them from a safety perspective. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. I will be listing a variety of nice estate-fresh Antique and Vintage Items this week. Here is a Large Antique A. WARD HENDRICKSON. BROOKLYN, N.Y. MARINE LANTERN with"AS IS" ORIGINAL RED GLOBE. Looks to be c.Late-19thC vintage to me. Lantern is 20" tall not including the top swing handle. Buying as you see it as found in estate. The globe has a large hole on one side with crack lines going out from hole. The remaining thick glass looks stable as is however. Globe still displays well on good side. There are other ridge chips on glass. A couple of dings spots on shoulder of lamp. Top lid has dent on top. Vertical cage rod is pushed in where the hole in glass is. Opposite rod pushed in somewhat as well with some broken connectors to cage. Layer(or layers) of old black paint on surface. Old patina to lantern. VINTAGE PERKO BRASS/GLASS BOW LIGHT VINTAGE PERKO BOW LIGHT Up for sale is a nice estate find vintage Perko bow light for a boat/nautical vessel. It is made out of brass and has one side with green ribbed glass and the other side with red ribbed glass. There is also a divider made of brass that separates the two colors from view of passing ships on the high seas(sometimes seen missing or damaged on other lights) The brass has a nice patina from many decades of life. There is a decent size dent on the slightly-domed top(please see photos) The side of the light is marked with Perko's logo and company info. Being made in Brooklyn,NY. My guess as to age would be from around the 1930s or 40s. It could be even earlier-back into the 20s or so- but I'm not certain. The glass is in good condition. With no major breaks, cracks or scratches. ... morethere is normal wear consistent with age on both red and green glass(in the center particularly- please see photo) Also. Each of the red and green also have a very small chip in one of the thin ribs that runs laterally across the glass. It is of cast bronze and the masthead light as shown is embossed on the top of the lamp marked US. 3 1/8 FOCAL HEIGHT LAMPS and M-5251-1. The lamp has three single holes for mounting on the base. Three heavy outer guards to protect the thick glass Fresnel lens and a bezel type removable lid. The original interior light fixture remains and is still functional or can be easily replaced. Retains a fine old weathered viridian green patina on the bronze surfaces. The date is etched in as 1977. The Fresnel lens survives in good order with just a few minor edge chips. A wonderful old maritime light that can be used today for numerous indoor and outdoor lighting functions! PAIR OF ANTIQUE SHIP'S RUNNING LIGHTS This is a very attractive pair of ship's lights. Made of galvanized metal. Nicely weathered. Believe that were made in the 1920's.They are not a matching pair but they are pretty well matched as they are of identical style and dimension. The Port light has a badge with the inscription"British Manufacture" and because of the style and construction is to be believed that the Starboard light is of the same origin. Both have slide out oil burners with respective wicks and glass tubes, the wick adjusters are working normally. The Starboard blue-green glass is cracked but is firmly set and not at all loose(see photo) Measurements: 11 1/2" tall(without handle) x 6"wide x 6"wide. It has been converted with a cord so you can use it for display. It is made by Norwood Noonan Co. out of Chicago. IL has L7 on the back and L2 underneath the globe measures approx 13" tall. 7" base& 8 1/4" across the backside does have a couple on small chips on the front as shown. the right side bolt is sheared off near the top. Offered with no reserve. A rare Perkins Marine Lamp. This is made by the Perkins Marine Lamp and Hardware Company of Brooklyn New York. Has a small brass ID tag just under the toggle switch. See picture#3. The lamp stands 15" tall and is 7" in diameter at the base. Copper construction. Features 2 tie down hooks at the base. Also has hook on the top cover. There are several metal"arms" that protect the globe. One of these is missing the top screw. See second to last picture. This is a dry cell battery operated lamp. It appears the necessary wires are in place. See pics#6.7,8, cannot guarantee the lamp will light and it was not tested) There is a on/off toggle switch just above the ID tag that has a screw on"cover nut" attached to a chain. See pics#3 and 4. 2 MATCHING PERKO MARINE LAMPS These two matching Perko lamps were the running lights of a Chesapeake Bay Bugeye(the Richard J. Vetra) in the 1930's. They are in good condition and measure approx. 8" high and 5.5" on each side and 8" across the top. The lamps are brass with glass lenses- red and green. The Perko stamp is on a back panel. Though hard to read. The lamps open by sliding down a back panel. The electrical connection has a brass cover and chain. There are no cracks or chips in the heavy glass. The brass cases have age-related dust, a few dents, some oxidation inside, scratches and scuffing. Power cords are cut and may need to be replaced. Please email with any questions. Antique Ships Lanterns Blue & Red Glass Vortex Burners Nautical
Up for sale is this fantastic pair of ships lanterns. One has a blue glass fresnel. The other red glass. Both have Vortex burners. I am not sure if these are currently functioning, both fonts and one burner show solder repairs. The lanterns themselves are in very good condition, the bottom of the blue is a little warped, both need to be cleaned on the interior, there is one small chip on the rib of the red glass that is all the way to the side, a few small chips on the left side of the blue glass, and a little larger chip on the rib on the top right rib. These chips are only noticeable from close inspection, you won't see them from 3 feet away. Measure about 10 1/2" tall not including the loop.

This is an Antique PERKO Solid Brass Marine OIL Lantern Towing Lamp with RED lens. This is a very old original Marine lantern. I believe off of a Tug/ Tow Boat. It is an OIL lantern. The bottom detaches a Oil lantern. The Glass lens has NO cracks, but the red film has spidering, see pictures. Glass intact. It is labeled with PERKO- Perkins Marine Lamp& Hardware Corporation- Made in Miami, Florida. It is about 18" tall, the flat sides are 10" across and about 15" across. The large brass lantern has Great Patina! This is all original vintage,oil lantern, no electrifying. Collector's take a close look- You won't find one with this age and in this condition often. But there are no marks on the other, yet they were made sometime around the 1930s I was told. They are 6 3/4 inches tall, 3 inches across the threaded rim, and the threaded edge is just a hair over 1 inch wide. There is a slight bit of grime I have not been able to scrub away on the inside dome but otherwise they are in pretty good shape with no chips, cracks, or flaws in the glass. The lantern comes AS IS and as shown. It is literally a barn find! It was found in an old barn in Dover FL. that the wife and I picked with the permission of the owners. This piece is rusty and old and we call that rusty gold. The red glass lens is CRACKED IN HALF and CHIPED as shown. There are chips inside from the lens. This would make a grate decorator or shelf piece. I am not sure the exact usage this had when new but I believe it to possibly be a buoy marker light or the light off of a large ship.
