They were in a box ... morealong with much more cast iron window hardware. The box came out of a Brownstone building in Boston Ma. All the items are antique or vintage. But I'm not an expert, so please look at the pics and decide for yourself. The rods are mostly black with some brassy tones showing through. The overall length of the rods are approximately 15.75" when collapsed. 23" overall when expanded. The rod part is 12" when closed and up to 19" or so inches when extended. These rods are a bit tough to extend or contract. But they still work. I lightly sprayed the mating parts with wd40 to get them moving, so there may be a slight residue to wipe off, but I did a pretty good job of freeing them up and wiping off extra wd40. These are sold in as found condition, so they have imperfections and paint loss here and there, but are in overall good shape. Please see pics. Please ask any questions before bidding. Thank you! Offered for auction is one lot of 8 matching extendable antique swing arm curtain rods with 8 mounting brackets and 58 curtain rings. The winning bidder gets all the items in the photos for one price! Sets this complete are hard to find. These wonderful curtain rods are 17 ¼” long to the tip and comfortably adjust to 24” All slide easily except for one which takes a little more effort to slide. The main arm and the tips are made of cast iron and the tube part that slides over ... morethem is some sort of metal. The brackets have been painted; someone just painted over them when they painted the woodwork around the windows. And yes. This was the interesting color of the window casings when these were removed. These can easily be stripped and re-painted the original gold color. They do show signs of use and age that is very common with curtain rods of this time period. No breaks or repairs could be found. These were purchased several years ago from a beautiful local Victorian home whose adorable then 90 year old owner was putting it on the market. Hello. Up for Sale is a beautiful set of three cast iron swing arm curtain rods. These rods are painted gold and have a decorative scroll work pattern and have a stamp that reads 1936. This auction is for the swing arm only and does not include brackets or extensions. These are a vintage set so some of the paint is missing and there is some mild rusting but otherwise they are in nice shape. These have a wonderful scroll pattern and would make be a great buy for anyone looking for something unique or for re-purposed art. Which is cast iron, with green, red and gold highlights in very good condition with a nice patina. The metal extension arms have some paint wear and a pinch of rust on some. The metal wall brackets have a diamond design on the end. Highlighted in a gold paint and are in good shape.
