Up for bid is a lot of 9 original. Antique, Victorian era, ornate cast iron swing arm curtain rods. When closed they are 17 3/4" they can extend up to about 26 inches. The fancy parts are cast iron the sliding part is metal. They have most of the hooks on them but not mounting brackets. All are in very good condition. Shipping will be $17

This is a beautiful collection old antique curtain rods that can double purpose as sign holders if you like. My 101 year old grandmother just past and these were found in here attic. I am not sure of the age but they appear to be in nice condition with a very nice patina. Each unit comes with 6-7 rings on them. They are 4 brackets and 11 larger rings that you can see in the photos. I am not sure what is original or if everything is there so please look closely at the pictures and let me know if you have any questions. I am not an expert but I will help in any way that I can. Each rod is complete with it's wall brackets& curtain hooks still attached to the rods. There is some white paint on the back underside area of the wall bracket pieces. We had a very hard time capturing the correct color of the old metal surface, so it will be off in shade from the pictures, as compared to actual. It is 14" long in the closed position and 19" when fully extended. There are 12 vintage brass square hanging loops and the 14 of the hard to find vintage curtain pins which fit through the square loops and onto the curtains. Two of the square hanging loops are slightly smaller than the other 10 and I doubt you would see any difference when they are hanging. The 10 squares measure 1 1/4" top to bottom and the 2 squares measure 1" top to bottom. There is no wall mounting hardware with this item. Also included is an orphan curtain hook which is somewhat ... morelarger. This swing arm is in very good condition considering it's age. The cold paint red and green detail is very clear with some of the gold rubbed off slightly in places. The rod itself shows the usual loss of paint due to decades of brass rings rubbing against it. I love these. but I do not have a clue as to what they are. There are a total of 6 of them. And they are all the same. I thought they were for curtains- but then some of the screw holes should be on the other side to make it a"set" There is a marking in the inside 1 1/4 and then on the bar it reads, pat. applied" I cannot read a date. These would make great curtain rods, or repurposed into something new! The brackets measure 1 5/8 long, and if screwed into a wall the would stick out 1 3/4 inches. Buyer to pay s/h through Paypal. Well I hope someone knows more than I know. I will tell you what I think I have. I have 6 single curtain rods. So maybe 6 windows? There is 3 for the left side and 3 for the right side of window. Each one I believe is cast iron design with the rest being metal. There is only five tie backs. One of the left side window curtain rod is broke. All pieces are there it needs to be repaired. I took pictures of it. Each one measures 18.5" to 27" long total. They have grape and leaf motif on them. These curtains rods need a good cleaning and a repaint if you want. Some of them are rusty on the rods. They are still very nice and would look great in a Victorian home. Buying all pieces in this lot. I am including the broken one for someone to fix. Sold as is. 4 Antique or vintage Cast Iron Extending Swing Arm Curtain Rods Hangers Brackets
Up for sale are 4 cast iron swing arm style curtain rods with mounting brackets. They are extendable. I'm not certain of the age. They were in a box along with much more cast iron window hardware. The box came out of a Brownstone building in Boston Ma. All the items are antique or vintage. But I'm not an expert, so please look at the pics and decide for yourself. The rods are mostly black with some brassy tones showing through. The overall length of the rods are approximately 15.75" when collapsed. 23" overall when expanded. The rod part is 12" when closed and up to 19" or so inches when extended. These rods are a bit tough to extend or contract. But they still work. I lightly sprayed the mating parts with wd40 to get them moving, so there may be a slight residue to wipe off, but I did a pretty good job of freeing ... morethem up and wiping off extra wd40. This sale includes a pair of antique curtain rod holders made of bent steel with decorative cast iron fleur-de-lis removeable attachments for the front. Rod is NOT included. The scrolled rod holder is about 5 1/2" tall and protrudes out from the wall by 4" and is 3/4" wide with 2 mounting holes. The fleur-de-lis attachments are 4 3/4" tall x 2 3/4" wide; they have a hammered design at the base and at the 2 arched leaves. 4) Antique Victorian Cast Iron Curtain Rods with Brackets. When closed the rods measure 15 3/4" long and opened 21" before the rod droops The brackets measure 2" long from the wall or 1 1/8" to the center of the hole. Very nice ornate detailing with much of the gold color still present The brackets do have some paint residue near the mounting holes. Antique Cast Iron BRACKET for Swing Arm Curtain Rod or Lamp Holder
This is an antique cast iron bracket for most likely swing arm type curtain rods but this could also be used.if the measurements are correct.a bracket for an antique oil lamp holder(or plant holder as more commonly used for these days) It is cast iron with an old gold paint which has mellowed down to resemble brass. The back plate is 4" x 1 3/8" and is gine on the back side. HB 27" The two bracket pieces extend 2 1/8" and have holes in them that measure just a wee bit under 1/2" actually almost perfectly 12mm)and these two pieces are approximately 1 1/8" apart. Gorgeous Pair of French Antique Cast Iron Curtain Brackets~Fragments Wall Decor
Don’t miss out on my weekly Auctions! This is a Gorgeous Pair of French Antique Cast Iron Wall Brackets. They have beautiful scroll shape with the original few layers of the old paint in aqua. Cream and a hint of orange. The paint is now all chippy showing allot of the dark iron from underneath and old time worn patina. These brackets can be use as is just as decretive pieces, or you can use them to hang a curtain if you added a rod on the top. Please note that they are not exactly the same shape they are slightly different, so if you use they as brackets you would need to adjust the height when you hang them on the wall.
