A collection of 28 assorted vintage metal picture rail hooks or brackets as per the scan. They all measure around 4.5cm. Two of them are more ornate and are patterned and the remainder as plain and in a similar style. They looked to me as though they had sat in a tin a shed or garage for a good few years and all have some tarnish or general discolouration. However they are in otherwise very good condition with no bends or cracks or similar problems.

A friend of mine used ones similar to these for that in her bathroom and I must say they looked good. Here is a set of 2 ornate old hand rail brackets. They have the look and feel of cast iron; however. Because I'm not an expert, I cannot guarantee what they're made of. They both have surface rust and will get your hands dirty when you touch them. Both are marked"3 1/2" on the part that holds the rail. This is much clearer on one versus the other. The"3 1/2" is likely a reference to their size as the bases are 3 1/2 inches long. Both have the same ornate design. They have some wear as well as rust. Fantastic Pair of Art Deco / Nouveau Solid Bronze Winged Coat Rail Brackets EXC!
Being offered is a fantastic pair of Art Deco/ Art Nouveau early 20th century solid bronze winged rail brackets. These brackets measure 12" off the wall. Are 10 1/2" tall, 1 7/8" wide at the mounting plate and have screw holes 4 1/8" away from each other. It takes a 15/16" diameter rod(not included) and the finials both screw out. They are very well cast with beautiful detail but are unmarked. Each bracket weighs about 2lbs 8oz and have a beautiful patina from age. These brackets are architectural and may have been from a public building or possibly a hand rail on a railroad. The other plate is 1 9/16 inches by 11/16 inch. The overall length is 3 1/2 inches. Most of the original copper flashed finish has worn off. There are a few spots of old paint on the round mounting plates.
