This auction is for: Two New Old Stock Barn Harness Style Hooks. These chrome plated iron hooks measure 9 1/8" long from the wall mount to the upward bend. The mounting bracket is a little over 2" tall and 2 1/8" wide. The upward bend is a little over 1 1/2" from the center of the shaft to the top of the ball. These heavy duty garment brackets will come with the original boxes. But they are missing the box ends. Here is an awesome cast iron hook. I believe it is too large for a coat hook. It is probably a barn hook used for hanging tack and harness or such. I believe the photos do a better job of describing the item and will give you a better sense of the condition. Please note. As my seller name implies. I am a miner. I am very pleased to bring you a great pair of heavy cast iron bridal tack hooks that came right from a barn that was built in the late 1800's here in Western Pa. These hooks were specifically designed for tack and heavy tack at that as the bottom hook was molded with a curved wide part as you can put on your bridals. Harnesses and there is a rounded ball in front so it would not get caught and be easy for the on and off. These maesure 8" high in the back with a tri hole configuration and the top hook is 13" long and the bottom is 8 1/2" long with the cast being a wide 1 1/2" I am sorry.looking on here and seeing all these coat hooks is fine but this one is designed for heavy duty use. These were never painted and a lil oil and a wire brush will bring these right back and here is your green tip for the day,if you soak ... morethese in vinegar overnight, the rust will melt off and all you have to do is take a lil steel wool and they will bring back the original smoothness and luster. PLease take a good look as they have no cracks, breaks,or repairs and will serve your family for another 100 years. Love the old stuff! Each cast iron piece weighs just about 2 1/2 lbs. There are no manufacturer’s marks or dates on either bracket. They are in“as found” condition with some faint remnants of old black paint. There are no cracks. Brakes, chips or repairs in the cast iron. These brackets would look absolutely fantastic with a thick glass shelf suspended between them and would also work with lengths of vintage glass rods at different ... moreintervals. Besides reusing these salvaged pieces for decorative purposes. They could also be used for hanging lengths of looped rope, leather, or even hanging buckets and baskets. There is a very shallow crease or line on one long arm of a bracket– a minor flaw which occurred during the manufacturing process. With the bracket mounted on the wall and the row of cutouts on top. The crease mark is just after the second bump from the end and on the bottom piece of iron. The picture that shows this has the bracket with the mounting plate flat on the table and the row of cutouts on the right going straight up and down. The flaw is near the top. Each bracket is 10 7/8” along the length of the mounting plate and is 2” wide at the bottom and 3 7/8” wide at the round top. The cutout double arms reach out 12 1/8” from the mounting plate and are 1 7/8” wide on the outside. Each of the rounded cutouts are 7/8” wide. There is a pre-drilled hole at the bottom of the mounting plate and two open ended holes at the rounded top– they will accommodate a 1/4” screw. Up for sale a Large. Antique, 8 inch, Cast Iron, Coat Hook/ Tack Harness Hook. Stands off from the wall 8 1/4" Has a mounting base of 3 7/8" by 1 3/4" with 4 mounting holes. Still solid with rust. Pitting, and nice Patina. A nice hard to find hook.
