Set of 4 hooks. Originally several fastened to a board at proper intervals with an iron rod through the small hole in the middle and another iron rod through the top. This was for the hats and the lower hooks were for the coats etc.6 inch projection and 7 inches from top of hook to bottom of lower hook. Good original condition. Here is an amazing lot of 4 beautifully ornate cast iron shelf brackets that are each two pieces- they are reversible so you can fit them into the wall brackets both ways. I sell a lot of this kind of stuff and this lot of stuff is the best I have ever had. They and an 1886 patent date. The"smaller" still large) brackets are 16" x 8" and the larger brackets are 21" x 9" and the vertical pieces that screw to the wall are 24" long. they have multiple notches so you can adjust the shelf up and down- really great. It gets even better if you like provenance- these were screwed to a wall of a hardware store in the 1890s and just unscrewed from the same building this week. They are japanned black and then someone has painted gold over them. This look is actually pretty cool- mostly gold with black flecks showing ... morethrough. The look great as is or you could get them back to black with a little elbow grease. Or just repaint them the color you like. They are marked"A. W. Koch. This set of four hammered black finished metal(probably steel) shelf brackets are in a Colonial America or Arts& Crafts style. Each bracket has a decorative S-curved detail extending between the two arms. The longer arms are about 8” long and the shorter arms are about 6” long. Based on the brown paint along the longer arms and the worn surface of the shorter arms. They were mounted with the longer arms attached to the wall. We have the curved wood shelves these were used with if you are interested. But they would need to be refinished or painted and they’re fairly heavy. Two Vintage Ornate Cast Metal Shelf Brackets Art Deco? Style- Painted Black These are vintage shelf brackets. But I'm not sure how old they are or what era- they kind of look art deco. They are made of a cast metal and have been painted black. The design is quite detailed and is very striking. They do have one broken place- the lower hole where you would put a screw is broken on one bracket. I think you could kind of cover it up when you put a screw there. Other than that. There are not any breaks or cracks. The paint is chipping in places, and there is some rust(both on the design part and on the back) it kind of adds to their aged look. They measure about 8 5/8 inches on the longer arm and 6 3/4 inches on the shorter arm. They are 1 inch at the widest part. Payment must be received within 3 days of end of auction.
