Warrior, chief or priest figurine. Aztec or Mayan, wearing helmet and earings.
This large pre-Columbian ceremonial artifact is 7" tall. It depicts a high priest or chief making an offering. Perhaps to the sun god or other deity. The regal figure is wearing a very elaborate helmeted headdress, nose ring, earring, and the remains of a collared neckpiece. His left arm is held palm upwards in supplication and his right arm probably once held an offering skyward. There is an opening in the back that indicates this was perhaps an incense burner. Th ere is a wonderful regal bearing to the figure's face, This is a one-of-a-kind artifact- unlike the mold-made figures that were mass-produced in early mesoamerica. There are even the fingerprints of the ancient artisan throughout the chief's ceremonial attire. A wonderful link to the ancient peoples of long ago!

Ancient Pre-Columbian Quimbaya Golden Flyer Replica Pin
After our last visit to the one-of-a-kind"Gold Museum" Museo del Oro) in Bogota. Colombia we continued our search with local artisans and actually found a replica of the so called Quimbaya Golden Flyer up in the mountains of that South American country. This rare Pre-colombian artifact. Among many others of similar shape that have been found and are approximately 1500 years old, was believed to be the reproduction of an insect. An insect? Really? It looks more like a modern military aircraft, if you ask me! But this fact creates an uncomfortable situation for many mainstream archeologists who will rather try to make us believe that the ancient Quimbaya culture chose to depict"flying insects" with aerodynamic features such as the ones we have before our own eyes. I now present you with the rare opportunity to own a 18-karat ... moregolden plated reproduction pin of this strange and beautiful piece of history. Made by artisans from the same area where the amazing Quimbaya culture flourished. Measuring 1 7/16" in length by 1 3/8" in width and weighing 10 grams! And no, these replicas are NOT made in China! I have included a picture of the original piece so you can compare and decide. Get yours while supplies last! Here is a link for more information about the Quimbaya culture(http:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quimbaya_civilization) These are some of the comments from previous buyers: So cool! Great conversation piece! Well packed! sjb45"Quick delivery! Perfect collectible for my lanyard. Thank you! +++" hhpolicarpio"Packed well; Arrived fast& safe; Item is as described; Love this pin! THEY ARE MADE OUT OF LAVA STONE/ PUMICE, AND HAVE THE TELLTALE SIGNS OF BEING ANTIQUITOUS/ ANCIENT. I HAVE NOT HAD THEM APPRAISED, SO AM UNSURE. I AM LISTING THEM WITH A LOW OPEN AND ALLOWING THE BUYERS TO DETERMINE THEIR VALUE. THE TALLER PIECE STANDS 5.6" THE SHORTER 5.1" THE SMALLER OF THE 2 HAS A SECOND FACE AND BODY ON THE VERSO[COMPLETELY DIFFERENT] CONDITION LOOKS TO BE VERY GOOD. PAIR OF VINTAGE ORNATE BRASS STIRRUPS with proofmark "S"
This is a PAIR OF USED ORNATE BRASS STIRRUPS. They are solid brass and weigh a little over two pounds each. One has considerable repair work done to the bottom(see pictures) The only marking is an"S" stamped on the inside of one stirrup(pictured) Presumably the other one had the same mark in the same place but that stirrup now has a patch in that spot. These are an estate find. They are consistant with the type used by the Spanish in Latin America. They measure approx. 10" long and 5" wide. Vintage ANIMALS on MOLA 18x15 San Blas Islands Panama 1965 CALDWELL

We led a youth workcamp to Panama where the group built a church. One of our side trips was to four of the 365 San Blas Islands inhabited by the KUNA Indians. Rising at 3:30 am in Colon, we rode a bus to Panama City where we boarded a chartered DC-3 to fly over the Darian Jungle. We landed on a strip of coarse grass and then hiked through the jungle on a narrow footpath. Next we stepped into a motorized kayuko(dugout canoe) for a ride downstream to the sea. Then we climbed aboard the launch ... morePapIgarUlu. As we approached the first island. Solidad Mundinga, we saw coral formations beneath us that made the water change from deep blue to turquoise. We walked barefoot on white sand through the receiving line of school children and past the women and children selling molas, conch shells and necklaces. The chief greeted us in Kuna which was translated into Spanish and English. All around us people were peeking through the cane walls to see the visitors. We continued our visits to three other islands: Mosquito Island. Nalunega and Crti Tupile. We ate barbecued turtle and watched Kuna youth perform native dances to the music of bamboo pipes and maracas. The Kuna men worked in their fields on the mainland. But their women were never allowed off of the islands; thus they spent their time creating these beautiful works of art. These panels of decoration were made to be used as clothing for the women themselves. Here we see the early stages of mola creation The snapshot here shows the women wearing their mola blouses. MOLAS are made by stacking several layers of colored cotton cloth. Then each element of the design is created by"cutting down" to the desired layer of

HARD CARVED (?) SOAPSTONE(?) FIGURINE OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN (LATIN AMERICA?)
This auction is for an interesting little sculpture. I judge it to be made of soapstone or some similar soft rock. It appears to depict a Latin American figure but I'm not an archaeologist or anthropologist so.who knows? With the headress and big ear rings it looks like a figure of a Mayan god. This could be of vintage age or it could be a modern rendition of an Inca or Aztec god for all I know. You decide what you think and if it interests you. Please make an offer. The figurine is about 5" tall, 2.5" wide and 1.5" front to back. It weighs.425 lbs. The carving is not fine workmanship so it's hard to tell if there are any chips or flaws. I see no cracks or major missing parts so I think it's in pretty good condition overall. Winning bidder to pay $7.00 for packaging and shipping.
