ANTIQUE 19TH C FIJI FIJIAN GATA WAR CLUB
Up for Auction is an antique Fijian“Gata” War Club dating to around 1850-1900. This isn’t a ceremonial or dance club– it is the real thing and very heavy. It is about 100cm long and weighs about 4kg. It has a nice patina that you would expect for its age. A real talking piece. Probably the most interesting thing about this club was it was part of the collection of Sir Henry Wellcome. See below) The number and variety of Fijian war club is testament to the fact that Fiji was beset by a long history of warfare and rampant ceremonial cannibalism. This article aims to help the reader understand and distinguish the different types and their intended specialized functions. Fijian clubs were the most cherished personal possessions of the Fijian warrior. It was designed and made for specific purposes and there are approximately thirty distinct and ... morediverse types of Fijian War club. Fijian clubs that had been successfully use to kill were either inlayed with human teeth or by the cutting of notches on the grip. A club use to kill many enemies was believed to have a life power of its own or mana. A Fijian War club with large amounts of mana were sometimes placed in a temple to the gods of war. And became ritual objects in funerary rites and certain craft ceremonies. Types of Fijian clubs could can be further divided by surface ornamentation and design. Type of wood, and by the type and nature of coir sennet wrapping. If you are interested in these details I highly recommend the book Fijian Weapons and Warfare by Fergus Clunie to which a lot of the information from this article is extracted. Gata Fijian War Club- This is one of the most widely used war club in Fiji. The angled cutting edge was designed to cut through and snap bones. The spur on the very top perhaps represents the open mouth of the striking snake. Sir Henry Solomon Wellcome(August 21. 1853– July 25, 1936) was an American-British pharmaceutical entrepreneur. He founded the pharmaceutical company Burroughs Wellcome& Company with his colleague Silas Bur

MASSIVE ANTIQUE SAMOAN TOOTHED WAR CLUB NIFO OTI SAMOA OCEANIC WEAPON 32"
Description Wonderful antique Samoan"Nifo Oti" toothed war club measuring 32" long x 5" wide at top and weighing nearly 2 1/2 pounds. 29 fierce teeth and nice chip carved designs with traces of lime accents. There was probably a carved hook on the top that is long gone. 2 of the teeth are almost entirely broken off and a few are missing the tips. This club was collected by a man sailing from San Francisco to Australia in 1920. The ship stopped at several South Pacific Islands including Samoa. He was told the club was old when he purchased it in 1920 and I bought the club directly from the man's son. A great looking club! Rare Semi-Antique Transitional Nulla-Nulla Aboriginal Throwing Stick or War Club
Rare Hand Crafted Nulla Nulla(Aboriginal Throwing Stick or Club) Created from and Pecked into Native Wood by an Australia Aboriginal Craftsman at the Yalata Mission of Southern Australia or Possibly at La Perouse* Circa: 1930s 20 1/2 inches(52 cm) long x 4 inches(10 cm) wide and 1 1/4 inch(3.2 cm) deep Condition: Very Good: This club shows some wear and may have been used for hunting or as a toy. Description; The club has excellent form and sensitive carving. The design was pecked into the wood. This method of decoration was used on throwing sticks. Boomerangs, shields and other native tools in the 1930s. They were offered to travelers and tourists as decorative items. This was encouraged by the monks of South Australian Missions so as to generate cash for the local native population. An example of this type of artifact is in the Powerhouse ... moremuseum in Sydney, Australia. The item was found in a San Francisco Bay Area estate. In the early 20 th century with very few other means of income and provision. The Aboriginal community of La Perouse was quick to engage with the new developing tourism market. They sold shell artifacts, shields, boomerangs and other items, and demonstrated boomerang throwing to the day trippers. What developed was a“transitional” culture' of production with traditional skills being employed to alter traditional objects for the new market. The production of souvenirs, such as decorated boomerangs, nulla nullas and shields grew in the 20th century with the establishment of a tram line to La Perouse in 1902, making the La Perouse Indigenous community one of the first to be involved with the tourism industry. Shipping insurance is included in the USA. Satisfaction is guaranteed. This item is guaranteed to be in the condition described. This auction is presented by Jerry Weisberg trading in tribal antiques since 1973.

ANTIQUE 19TH C FIJI FIJIAN ULA THROWING WAR CLUB
Up for Auction is an antique Fijian“Ula” Throwing War Club dating to around 1850-1900. This isn’t a reproduction– it is the real thing and heavy. It is about 40cm long and weighs about 1kg. It has a nice patina that you would expect for its age. The hardwood throwing club"ula" was made by a specialist from a variety of uprooted bushes or shrubs. It is perhaps the most famous and recognizable of all oceanic weapons. The ula was the most personal weapon of the Fijian warrior and was inserted into a man's fiber girdle sometimes in pairs like pistols. Smaller examples were employed for hunting birds and flying foxes. The throwing of the ula projectile was done with great skill. Precision and speed. It was often carried in conjunction with a heavier full length club or spear which served to finish an opponent after initially being ... moredisabled by a blow from the ula. Today collector's covet these popular throwing clubs for their organic forms. Fine craftsmanship, tactile qualities, rich color and time-honored history.

Very Rare Museum Quality Pre-contact Indian Stone Tomahawk, War Club
HERE FOR AUCTION IS A VERY IMPRESSIVE ANTIQUE STONE TOMAHAWK MADE BY PRE-CONTACT INDIANS. THIS TOMAHAWK RETAINS ORIGINAL STONE PEBBLE AND WOOD HANDLE. THE HANDLE SURFECE DISPLAYS GREAT PETINA WHICH ONLY CAME AFTER LONG TIME HUMAN USAGE. THE REAL ITEM LOOKS DARKER AND BETTER THAN IN THOSE PICTURES DUE TO AUTOMATIC EXPOSURE OF MY DIGITAL CAMERA. BEFORE TRADING WITH EUROPEANS. PRE-CONTACT INDIANS, WHO LACKED IRON-MAKING TECHNOLOGY, ORIGINALLY MADE THEIR TOMAHAWKS WITH HEADS OF ROUNDED OR BLADED STONE OR DEER ANTLER. I THINK THIS TOMAHAWK REPRESENTS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF EARLY AGE TOMAHAWKS MADE BEFORE EUROPEANS CAME. Tonga Tongan WAR CLUB Polynesian Nicely Carved
Up for offer is a 19th/early 20th Century Tongan(from Tonga. Formally the Friendly Islands) north-east of New Zealand war(god? club. Intricately carved with geometric motifs. Just over 43"H. Quite heavy, perhaps made from iron wood, possibly"toa" Not sure if stone chisels were used, along with a shark-tooth tied to a wooden handle OR if iron tools were utilized for the carving. But the carving is rather intricate. I also don't know the exact name of the specific style of club this is as I know there's a heirarcy of designs and status. Good or bad, there's a"better/good" side and a not-so-nice side to the club which may involve some creative restoration altho the"good" side is certainly fine for display. There's also a drip of white paint- as seen in the photos- but I'm not going to dare ... moreto clean off. I will leave that to an expert to do. I took photos in different light conditions to try to show the fine carving as well as the'issues' I mentioned. Shipping to the US/Canada will range between $30-60+/ depending on final destination BUT I won't know for sure until end of auction. I only charge exact shipping cost! Low reserve. In the least this is a beautiful display item but I don't profess it to be museum quality BUT it does seem to be an older example for sure. I really have no idea how much this will cost to ship outside of North America. ALSO keep in mind some countries do not allow items of a certain length to be shipped so if you have any shipping questions, please get in touch sooner than later. On Apr-06-13 at 13:21:50 PDT. Seller added the following information: SHIPPING! I looked into international AIR MAIL shipping options and found a few examples. EASTERN WOODLANDS / GREAT LAKES BALL HEAD WAR CLUB ca 1860
For your condsideration is an excellent Eastern Woodlands/ Great Lakes ball head war club ca 1860's. The club is constructed of oak. Which has been blackened, and is finished with a deer antler spike inserted into the head with a copper ring. The wooden ball head and lower handle shows some cracking due to the natural shrinking of wood over time. Overall length of the club is approximately 28 inches. The club was purchased from the well known auctioneer of Louis Dianni. An excellent example for the Native American weapon collector. jy.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%601d72f%2Bkw4sjm5%3Ejy-13dfc04ba5d-0xf3-

EARLY STONE HEAD BEADED PLAINS WAR CLUB SKULL CRACKER 1870'S SINEW
This is a great old club. I would guess it is from the 1870's. There are three colors of blue beads. Old white, and the red beads are white hearts. As you can err the bottom of the handle ie missing the beads. The club is very solid. The wood handle is muslin wrapped. The beads on the strap over the stone head are sinew sewn. The beads on the handle are both sinew and thread sewn. One side of the head has crystals in the stone. I have never seen another one like it. On that same side you can also see something has left a few dark stains. I have always wondered what that is. You can see what I am referring to in the fifth photo. The stone head measures 7" across. The club is 17" long. Payment within 3 days from the end of the auction. Please feel free to ask questions. Good luck. 36`.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp*70%60%3E36%60-13dfc04ba52-0xfc-

Primitive Tomahawk or War Club Unknown Tribe
This is a great old artifact. My sister and her husbsand obtained it in the 50's. She is not sure of the age. Believes at least the 1800s due to the fact back in the 50s there was a museum that was interested in it. My brother in law hung onto it and he is gone and my sister found it stuck back and neglected and ask that I list it for her. Since they obtained it in Kansas she believes it to be from the Plains region. If anyone looking at it can give me any info I would appreciate it. Approximately 3 x5 inches on the stone and 12 1/2 inches long on the wood.

Thank You& Happy eBaying from all of us at RIICS Inc, Bill. Wendy, Lindsey, Yaya, Lisa, Darlene, Rich, Sarah, Devin, Kyle& Kerri*If you recognize this Club from a previous auction. You are correct. When we first sold this Club, it was damaged in shipping, and an ... moreinsurance claim was paid. It has been in our office ever since because we do not know how to properly fix it. The time has come where we have decided to just list it, as is, and let it find its way into the hands of someone who can restore it. First off. I want to guarantee 100% plus shipping, that the American Indian Stone War Club in this auction is authentic and from the 19 th century. The egg-shaped stone is in perfect condition and measures 4 ½” long by approximately 2 ½” in diameter at its widest point. The wood shaft measures 14 ¼” long and is also covered with rawhide. All the rawhide is sewn with sinew and around the center of the handle are 7 strands of early bone white. Dark blue and turquoise green trade beads. These beads are also strung on very fine sinew. Over the years, the rawhide has darkened from handling and I get the feeling this Sioux War Club was probably used. In our close up photographs you can see a split to the rawhide where the handle attaches to the heavy axe head. This break is not seperated and the stone head is still attached but it is weak at the point. There is no reserve on this authentic 19 th century Sioux Indian Stone War Club

US Navy Seventh Fleet TONKIN GULF YACHT CLUB - Vietnam War Patch
This vintage Vietnam war in-country machine-embroidered patch measures 3.5" in diameter. Used condition. Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club was a tongue-in-cheek nickname for the United States Seventh Fleet during the Vietnam War. All through the war in Vietnam. The Seventh Fleet engaged in combat operations against enemy forces through attack carrier air strikes, naval gunfire support, amphibious operations, patrol and reconnaissance operations and mine warfare. The name"Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club" was used from 1961 when the Seventh Fleet arrived to the waters off Vietnam and carried out most of its operations from the Gulf of Tonkin. This included aircraft operations at Yankee Station and destroyers and cruisers along the coast on the gunline. After the 1973 cease-fire, the Fleet conducted mine countermeasure operations in the coastal waterways ... moreof North Vietnam. Two years later, ships and aircraft of the Fleet evacuated thousands of US citizens and refugees from South Vietnam and Cambodia as those countries fell to opposing forces. The fleet departed in 1975. A valuable addition to your Vietnam war military memorabilia collection. Worldwide combined shipment is welcome to save you money.
