Witch Doctors Door Ornament to Ward Off Evil Spirits from New Guinea. The Artifact is approximately: 31 inches tall by 9 inches wide. As the photograph shows it is black in color and made out of hard wood. The design is caved out of a single piece of wood and has markings carved into the surface. On the rear side of the face is a carved animal. It looks as if the artifact was used on both sides Here is the background as far as I know- This came into my possession when I bid on it in the Channel 2 Auction in Boston. 1982(note: The Channel 2 Auction is a major fund raising event for Public Service TV- for those that may not know- it is a well respected auction and items are checked for authenticity) At the time of purchase I had a letter from the person that donated this artifact.
