As a young man in the mid to late 1800"s My Grandfather lived in the Dakota`s and spent allot of time with the Lakota Sioux. He loved the native American culture and spent his life amassing an extensive collection of Indian artifacts and weapons most are long gone but this was part of his collection. I will try to describe this as best I can for I know little or nothing about these antique items. This is a antique American Indian Ceremonial Rattle made of a gourd blub with a very light wood handle no idea what kind of wood shaft but very lightweight the gourd appears to have been painted of dyed a brownish color and it has markings painted on that looks like a turtle shell pattern Whoever originally handcrafted this was very patient it still has beads or whatever makes it rattle inside of the gourd and rattles nicely the very top of ... morethe gourds stem is showing its one hundred plus years but still there the wood handle has a hole bored into it I imagine to hang feathers etc from the handle the handle also has markings that kind of looks like letters but are not anything I can figure out kind odd square boxes and v looking symbols considering my Grandfather lived with the Sioux I will have to say this is Lakota Sioux Again this is a very old item mid to late 1800's american indian artifact. 1925 ANTIQUE ART DECO NATIVE AMERICAN YOUNG WESTERN PLAINS INDIAN SCOUT BOOKENDS
Being sold are a pair of bookends from the Art Deco Era. Depicted are Young Plains Indians as evidenced by the huge feathered bonnet characteristic of the native peoples. These are certainly old and known to be from the mid 1920's. Yes. These are incredibly rare, and are hard to find without the feathers or arm broken. What adds to the appeal of these for some, is the dynamic action in which the unnamed indian is captured. Longtime collectors should recognize the stance as one held by a young Vaudeville Era Starlet who was also captured in bookend form by Ronson loosely entitled speed. You will find these to be in ideal condition with nothing of great concern to note or mention. Each are made of hollow cast metal and plated in a brass that has aged an worn in small amounts. Antique Lithgraphic Print Of Native American Indians
This is a very interesting& authentic early engraving of a Native American family. The warrior is fully armed. Holding a flintlock rifle in his left hand, a tomahawk in his right hand, a knife& powder horn strapped across his chest. The woman is wearing a simple skirt& blouse. The child is naked& holding a small basket. The print has been hand tinted in three colors. Also visible around the extreme outer edge of the sheet is the litho plate mark from the printing process. The image& paper are in excellent condition. With no apparent tears, nicks or creases to the paper including the image. There is a small water stain in the lower left hand corner of the sheet but it does not in anyway alter the look of the image. I have tried in the photos to give you a full image of the text as well as the litho plate marks& the ... morewater stain both front& back. Based on the flintlock rifle& the plate mark. I would say the litho could be circa 1790 to early 1820' The text under the image too. Gives us a clue of the time frame with the use of Old English spelling in the tribe name& the word Mississippi. The following is the text as written: A Man& Woman of the Nawdonefsies to the westward of the Mifsisippi in North America. I think that the'f' looking letter in both the tribe name& in Mississippi is the letter's' written in the Old English style. The size/image: 6-7/8"w x 4-5/8"h. The size/paper: 8-11/16"w x 6-5/8"h. It is about 13" in diameter X 13" tall including the handle 6 1/2" minus the handle& it weights 13 oz. A lot of 13s there. It is out of round& needs some restoration work. And it also needs cleaned. I think it is from the North Pacific Coast or the Colombian Basin. I bought it at a very clean estate that had a good deal of Native American artifacts. And as shown it displays great. Features: This is a very nice antique to approx antique(earlier 1900's) men's ring. Made of sterling silver with round dome cabochon cut blue turquoise gemstone of excellent quality. Stone is nearly 1/10th ct. Ring's considered rare. Of very old pawn. Beautifully Native American handcrafted with very impressive earlier smith workmanship in an eye catching raised well detailed tribal cross bell motif design. It's heavy. Weighs 13.2 grams. It came from our family heirloom's earlier 1900's jewelry collection. It was very well kept and in excellent condition. Ring Size: Looks impressive on most fingers. Although. Ring is a a size 12, it should also fit size 11.5 without any significant shifting, based on this type of design. For those in other countires such as the UK, Ireland, and AU, size 12 is X 1/2 and will also fit ... moresize X and size W 1/2. These are a pair of antique children's moccasins. Red. Green and white beading on the toes. These were my grandfathers so I'm not completely sure of the age or the history of them, but I believe they're early 20th century Native American moccasins. I'm unsure of the date that this piece of jewelry was made. There are no markings whatsoever. I bought this from an antique dealer in Santa Fe. New Mexico 15 years ago. Even though there are no markings, it polishes just like sterling silver. I was told that is was silver when I bought it. All the turquoise stones are intact. I added insurance in the shipping cost.

Beautiful Old Antique Southwest Native American Indian Navajo Rug Art
Here's a beautiful old handmade native American Indian rug. It is truly a work of art! The darker brown border is complimented by a variety of earthy tan. Reddish brown, and light brown colors. The weaving shows abstract geometric designs, faces and people. I've highlighted some of the parts of the rug in the photos. It's extraordinary work. The rug itself is a good size, measuring 42 1/2" by 72" I bought the rug from a close friend a number of years ago. I have not placed the rug on the floor, it has been well stored for protection. The rug was purchased at a sale from an estate in Camden Maine. The person that owned the rug had traveled the country. It was sold after they passed away. I know the rug is old, authentic, and very unique in its design qualities. I really don't know just how old it is. My guess is that ... moreit is 1940's or 1950's, could be earlier? Iroquois Indian WHIMSEY PURSE This is a very unique Iroquois Indian whimsey purse that was made either late 19 century or turn of the 20 century. It is small souvenir size. It doesn't look as though any of the glass beads are missing. The hook and eye closure are still attached and in good condition. The leather does have some cracking because of age. The inside looks to be silk lined and in good condition with no tears or rips. Just discoloration also because of age. The purse is 2 1/2 inches high when closed and 3 1/2 inches across. Vtg. Antique Native American Southwest Weaving Chimayo Ganado 69" x 46"
Offered for your consideration is an authentic native american weaving. Blanket, or rug, possibly Navajo Ganado, but probably Chimayo. This gorgeous piece is handcrafted of wool in black. White, and gray, on a red field or background. Coloring suggests Ganado Navajo, while weaving style appears to be Chimayo. Purchased about 30 years ago from an antiques shop on Philadelphia's Main Line. Exact age is unknown. Measures approximately 46" x 69" With a nice tight weave and little damage, just a few small holes(about 5mm) from moths or hanging. See photos for details and ask for more photos if interested.

Antique c.1900 Very Fine Native American Indian Woven lidded Basket Box NW
Up for your consideration is this authentic c. 1910-1930 fine woven Native American Indian woven basket trinket box. Through our research we have seen very similar pieces attributed to tribes of the North West coast however we cannot define exactly what tribe. This basket showcases two typical southwestern characteristics- the whirling log and diamond shape design. This delicate basket shows signs of being originally hinged at the back with a clasp in the front. We do see it is woven from grass fiber. We also notice small square shaped copper tacks holding the inner basket lip in place. This lip has some movement but is still attached. There is some small amounts of fiber loss on this near 100 year old basket however its general condition is very good. Please note we did not attempt to clean this basket. Antique 1918 Amsco tin-litho toy tea set tray "Settler & Native American Girls"
Up for auction is this wonderful tray that Amsco manufactured between 1918 and 1919. I have pieces that go with it that I will be listing separately. This large tray. Which measures 9" x 13" shows a girl dressed as a settler in a red dress and white apron sits on the grass having coffee with a kneeling girl dressed as a Native American. She wears a beaded yellow dress and a headband with feathers. Spread out between them is a white cloth with a yellow border and a tray with a coffee pot, creamer, sugar holder, cup and saucer and spoon. The Native American girl holds the cup and saucer in her right hand. Balanced in her lap is an envelope-shaped box or purse. In the middle distance is a large bonfire. A red 1 1/8"wide raised border surrounds the scene. This is an amazing tray-I've never seen anything like it before. It is ... morein good condition. Though there are a number of scratches on the scene and border. There are also some small areas of paint loss, most noticeably on the settler girl's right leg and to her right on the ground. There are also some dings and dents, the largest of which are on the lower central part of the tray. This is a tray any tin collector will want! Up for consideration is a fine Antique Ojibwe small basket made of bark quill and a Victorian shirt fragment with accompanying Tourist Train trip to Ottawa Ontario Canada. The basket measures 5 by 4 by 2 3/4 inches tall. This was purchased at an old estate of which there was an old train ticket transfer from Ottawa Transfer dated 1895. This is an antique Native American beaded pouch. And is circa 19 th century. The pouch is 4 ½ inches by 3 ¼ inches. In very good condition, with some areas of missing beads, missing pink beads on the lower edge, and the button is separated from the pouch. The back of the button is stamped“Treble Gilt, London. The rug came from a house sale Crystal Lake. Illinois. Age of owners were upper 80's. home was in the mid century style with matching decor. which is common for this area of house sales that I go to. Many of these residents are long time owners from their heyday. They reflect an upper middle class white group who traveled. Many of these homes are full of treasures from their travels and from the mid century. This particular house sale had vibrant Southwest color decor with matching Native American themed treasures. The rug was used on the floor even in its current condition. It was not prized and hung on the wall nor was it folded ... moreand stored away. It was out and used. I bought it right from the floor.
