Antique mid 19th c Indian textile block printed textile c1850 17.5 feet LONG
~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~ A Spectacular 19th century( c1850) Block printed textile from India. This textile measures 17.5 feet long, so in order to photograph it well, it was necessary to hang on it's side ~*~ This textile was printed in one of the printing centers in northern India. Probably in today's Uttar Pradesh rather than Rajasthan. This textile is very long indeed and most likely was used as a valance for a 4 poster style bed. This textile has an oral provenance of having come from the collection of Henri-Rene d'Allemagne(collector; French; 1863- 1950) and important French historian. Librarian, author and collector. Former owner of a large collection of Islamic items which have since been donated to the British Museum( and others) This textile was printed using hand carved wooden blocks and the colors are deep ... moremadder. Rusty red and lovely tones of muted browns. This textile is printed in a light weight, loosely woven cotton with a gauze like hand. This is a pieced textile with wonderful hand stitched seams joining the length. The top of this piece appears to have once been nailed in place and there are small holes surrounded by rust. This textile has aged beautifully with a lovey warm aged toned ground. Wonderful images on this textile and the top also has tiny rings and claps in places for hanging ~*~ ~ ideal for hanging or lovely for any important textile collection ~*~ MEASUREMENTS: This lovely textile measures: 210 inches long(17.5 feet long! by 33 inches drop. CONDITION: This textile is in as found. Not laundered condition with very light storage dust and pale age marks in places ~ this piece has faded unevenly in places, has pale age marks, rust marks at the top edge where it was once nailed. Antique Indian Solid Silver Relief Decorated Snake Handle Milk. Cream or Sauce Jug circa 1890 This Antique Jug measures approximately 2 1/4 inches or 57 mm across from its handle to its pouring lip by 1 7/8 inches or 49 mm across the width or diameter of its lower body from side to side and it stands 3 inches or 77 mm tall to the snakes head on the top of its handle. The jug is made from 67.5.2 grams of a high grade solid silver in a delightful circular shape with a bulbous lower body that has been embossed or raised relief and engrave decorated with arched floral and foliate decorated panels under a foliate decorated upper band and the jug has a straight upper body that has also been embossed or raised relief and engrave decorated with stylized flowers. Trees and foliage that are within decorative upper and lower borders, the jug has a shaped ... morepouring lip on the front of its upper body with a superb scrolling relief decorated snake or serpent like handle that has a snake's head overhanging the back of its upper rim and the jug has Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as photographed below. Although I have been unable to find any silver marks as is very typical with these antique Indian items the jug has been tested and it is guaranteed as being made from a high grade solid silver. I estimate that this jug was made in India circa 1880- 19 0 0. The condition is used and Excellent for its age. The jug has No Large Dents. No Holes, No Splits, No Cracks and No Repairs that I have found, the jug stands straight, the decoration and definition is very crisp, the jug holds liquid without leaking although as this is a used antique milk. Cream or sauce jug it does have some small dents around its body and the upper rim is out of round. It has the obvious signs that it was hand made and it has some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use. This is an old antique very hard to find porcelain statue of a native American Indian scout with a rifle. This came from a very huge collection of Royal Dux figurines and I will be listing others later. The figure is 12 1/2" tall and 6 3/4" wide where rifle is. It has fine detail and has the pink triangle mark on bottom with embossed numbers below. The rifle metal shaft end has been repaired and so has his two feathers on his head. A 19th/early 20th century antique Indian/Asian/Arabic. Solid silver bowl. The interior is entirely covered in exceptionally well executed hand engraving. The rim has fine serrations. The bowl exterior had a single ring of engraved lotus leves. The base has three impressed characters similar to British hallmarking as per picture. Base has a covering of very fine scratches from many years of use. Apart from these it is in fine condition. Not a single dent. It has a handle which is fully intact. At the base of the handle there is one small strand that is loose but is an easy fix. The bottom has one small light pink mark which I think can be removed. Overall, this basket is in excellent condition for its age and It has no missing or broken pieces. It is 3 1/4 inches tall, and to the top of the handle it is 6 1/4 inches tall. Very old pair of Yupik Mukluks. Purchased many years ago from a local estate sale. They have been viewed by the Burke Museum here in Seattle Washington. They said they were made of Caribou. Seal and wolf. It was there belief the were from someone of stature in the Tribe. They measure 12 inches long by 10 inches tall. Rare late Victorian Antique Burmese Solid Silver Match Box Holder. c1890 Fine Quality example- it features very intricate hand chased and repousse work detail of a warrior on the front and intricately engraved scrollwork on the back and sides. Burmese repousse work was the best in the world and this is good example of it's type. Rare on a matchbox holder. There is a small hole on the right side of the warrior's face where it joins the box. That wouldn't be a big job to fix and is obviously worth doing given the quality and rarity of the box. Made from a good gauge of solid silver. It weighs 22.5 g. Beautifully proportioned at 53mm x 34mm x 20mm. Genuine and rare antique Burmese solid silver treasure.

This is a very old Native American Indian Beaded Medicine Bag or Tobacco pouch 8" x 4"plus the handle. It have owned it for over 35 years since I bought it at an Estate Sale in the 1970s. It is fom the 19th Century for sure and may date back to the mid 1800's. There are a few breaks in the beadwork that need repair. But it is in overall good condition for the vintage.
