Antique Se m inole Indian Native American Doll An older 6 1/4" Seminole Indian dolls with green and orange colored glass bead necklace and white bead earrings. This doll is in very good condition with slight fading and age discoloration. There is a small piece missing along the lower hem of the dress on the backside. Please see my other items as I am auctioning off my Antique Native American dolls and some other similar items(totem poles) during the next month.
Antique North American Indian Artifact
I believe this to be some type of antique North American Indian Artifact however have absolutely no clue as to its origin or age.It appears to have been used for some type of smudging and appears to date to at least the 1800's based on the deterioration of the clay. The rock hard aged nature of the material that binds the bowl to the sticks, and the patina of the sticks themselves. This could be a Cree artifact as it was purchased in Manitoba, Canada however I am honestly just guessing as to everything. This artifact measures approximately 12" at the widest point and is just over 3 1/2" tall. Any help identifying this object would be greatly appreciated. The buy it now price is not to my knowledge any indicator of value. I am simply protecting myself in the event this is some type of priceless artifact. If you know what it is ... moreplease feel free to contact me with your opinion or offer accordingly. I will not consider any opinion or offer as insulting as I have no idea whatsoever what this is or what the value may be. if any. If you want additional images from any angle please request and I will be happy to provide. Overseas buyers must request a shipping quote prior to bidding. Regards: David

ANTIQUE SOLID BRONZE NATIVE AMERICAN SIOUX INDIAN CHIEF SITTING BULL BOOKENDS
Sitting Bull ∙ Solid Bronze ∙ c. 1920 ∙ Graham Bronze ∙ 7” O riginally. These were mass produced in limited quantities by Gorham Bronze. The first recorded date of such production of this design is 1914. Those were all clearly branded Gorham. And artist signed, J.L. Lambert. These. Are still rare, but were issued by another foundry, Graham Bronze, are circa 1920, and in some instances, regarded as rarer than all others. The artist remains the same. Both constitute a good piece of sculpture with a strong aesthetic appeal. There is no sensation in touching a painting. But the reality of actual volume in sculpture is particularly significant. Bidders can rest assured that these are rare and authentic by the strictest of standards and definitions. These are constructed of solid bronze( neither brass. Nor cast iron) Wear a natural patina, and ... morepossess of myriad of natural earthen tones when displayed, akin to fool’s gold. Depicted is the notable Native American. Sitting Bull(1831-1890) a Hunkpapa Sioux Indian and chief of the entire Sioux nation prior to becoming part of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. It is worth pointing out. That along the side of one, in the cheek crevice, there is a flaw, i.e. a hole, the size of a long rice grain. For some. This is like finding a misprinted coin, things like this happened during the manufacturing process. Each piece stands at 7” Tall. 5” Wide, 3” deep, and weigh slightly under 8 pounds for the pair. The front edges read Sitting Bull. And this inscription is rumored to be one that was written by Sitting Bull himself while in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. There is scholarly and credible evidence supporting this notion, and it makes sense. YOUR PRIVACY. TRUST, ANONYMITY, AND PATRONAGE IS OF IMPORTANCE TO ME. Kuritzky. Louis, and Costa Charles. De. ANTIQUE AMERICAN INDIAN ART - Peabody Essex Museum Native American folk art book
Uncommon Legacies: Native American Art from the Peabody Essex Museum" By John Grimes. Published by the American Federation of Arts& the University of Washington Press in 2002. DISCUSSION: In the glorious period of great sailing ships. New England mariners brought back treasures from far lands. The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA, grew out of the East India Marine Society's desire, in 1799, to protect such'curiosities' in a museum. Later additions, including modern Native American works, have since filled out the collection. This book commemorates the opening of a new permanent gallery for Native American art. Three excellent essays introduce the history of collecting in general, the growth of collections of Native Americana, and the evolution of the Peabody Essex. Another essay on modern Native American art points the ... moreway to the future. Following are 119 glowing plates of the individual objects, with extensive notes on each. RARE old antique American Indian Plains TRADE POINT large iron arrowhead LOOK
This auction is for an antique American Indian iron trade point. It is large(3 7/8" by 7/8" and is made from iron. Possibly from a barrel hoop. Marks on both faces suggest the iron was flattened and shaped using a rounded hammer(hammerstone) The shoulders are rounded(some collectors suggest this indicates use for hunting rather than war) The stem or tang has 4 notches for a sinew binding. The tip is dull from use but the edges are still fairly sharp. The trade point is not completely straight and the tang is bent slightly(indicating some use) Not sure of exact origin. This came from a Maine collection so it may be Eastern Woodlands but it seems a better match for Northern Plains trade points(based on elongated dagger-like shape. This is probably ca. 1860-1880 but it may be older or younger. Thanks for checking out my items. I collect ... moreprimitive archery artifacts(really. Any old or primitive projectile weapon) and archery books. I usually have several archery items and books for sale. Currency, and stamps, antique cigar box labels are highly undervalued relative to the supply. With cigar box label collecting being in the infancy stage. Now is a great time to get in while the prices are what they are-WAY TOO CHEAP! Most of these labels were printed in the late 1800's and early 1900's. At the turn of the century. Cigar smoking was all the rage. With many different brands to choose from, cigar makers would compete to make their boxes stand out and attract attention to their particular brand. This was accomplished with beautiful artwork and eye catching designs on the labels attached to the boxes. In 1889, embossing was introduced to the labels, adding a 3 dimensional appearance. Most surviving cigar box labels are warehouse discoveries. They are remainders that never got attached to t

ANTIQUE NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN ARTS & CRAFTS, ANTIQUES - Ralph Coe Collection
The Responsive Eye: Ralph T. Coe and the Collecting of American Indian Art" By Ralph T. Coe. Published in New York by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2003. DISCUSSION: Published in conjunction with the exhibition"The Responsive Eye: Ralph T. Coe and the Collecting of American Indian Art" Over the past three decades. Ralph T. Coe has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada to assemble this collection of Native American art, one of the finest in private hands today. Immersed in the cultures of Native America, he has come to know artists and artisans, traders, dealers, and shop proprietors, selecting the very best they have to offer. The Ralph T. Coe Collection includes representative pieces from most Native American geographic regions and historical periods. Beginning with objects dating back to the fourth ... moremillennium B.C. Many examples—men's shirts with ermine fringe, weapons, and button blankets—evoke the heroic lifestyle of the past, while small objects, such as tipi and kayak models, dolls, and tiny moccasins, speak to a more intimate significance. Ritual objects imbued with spiritual meaning—masks and katsinas, tablitas and medicine bundles—as well as utilitarian objects, such as pottery and baskets, also have a strong presence. This catalogue tells the stories of nearly two hundred of these objects, combining art history with personal reminiscence, and reveals the role Coe has played in bringing about awareness of the artistic heritage of Native America. Antique 19th Century Beaded Pouch Medicine Bag Native American Indian
This is a very old Native American Indian Beaded Medicine Bag or Tobacco pouch 8" x 4"plus the handle. It have owned it for over 35 years since I bought it at an Estate Sale in the 1970s. It is fom the 19th Century for sure and may date back to the mid 1800's. There are a few breaks in the beadwork that need repair. But it is in overall good condition for the vintage. The cloth used still has a pattern showing, probably from a flower sack. A very cool and unusual Pouch!
