This is a Kota Reliquary figure Gabon Africa. I purchased this piece from an Estate Sale which means I don't know much about it. From my understanding these figures were used in ceremonies. It is wood covered in brass with copper nails. The craftsmanship is amazing and is a beautiful piece to add to any collection. The figures appears to be in very good condition. The figure measures approx. 22 inches long. About 10 1/4 inches at its widest point and about 2 1/2 inches at its thickest point and weighs about 2 1/2 pounds. Here I have an unusual pottery bottle vase and cover. This is a very decorative piece. A large black turned and etched pottery vase with silver metal banding on the base and neck with a carved silver metal elephant stopper. Great form and very sculptural. Vintage Antique? African Art Mende Bundu Mask Poro Secret Society
During tribe ceremonies women wear Bundu masks to symbolize the beauty of the female body and represent an ancestor of the tribe. These masks are typically of one hollowed out piece of wood with detailed carvings(this one is) The facial features are finely carved with folds on the neck area representing wealth and health. The surface of these mask are usually of blackened finish which this is. This mask has some minor chips and scrapes. Worn areas, a couple fine age cracks, but overall condition is very good for its old age. It is bought as is and is considered a used piece. Similar masks go from 600-800 but this is priced lower for a quicker sale. Beautiful piece HTF and rare in this condition.

The solar form of the head is underlined by a circular motif, comparable to rays of sunlight. Considered fertility dolls, these wooden dolls were worn by pregnant women, or those hoping to become pregnant, tight in their loincloth, in order to insure fecundity and the birth of beautiful children. Antique African Art Tribal Ceremonial Sword Vintage Decorative Museum Artifact
I have here a gorgeous antique African tribal sword. I brought this sword to an African art dealer here where I live and this is what I was told about this piece- Based on the crudely forged metal blade and hand guard. This item was made in the 50's The Sheath was made from a lion's pelt The handle was made from real eye-vree This sword would not have been used in battle. It holds a great deal of significance and would be used in tribal ceremonies. Because it was made from the parts of the most powerful animals found on the continent of Africa. This sword would have been used only when a tribe member was raised to chief status or another important tribal position. It is all original. In excellent shape and is beautifully decorative- just notice the hand carving in the handle and the design work on the blade. The handle measures 6" ... morelong and the blade measures 20" long. This piece represents a very rare opportunity to own an item which today would be impossible to purchase. It was made at a time when its components could be used but today.no. Up for sale here is a vintage circa 1950s or earlier hand carved wood African Tribal Figure. The piece measures 17 inches in height. For condition there is even handling wear around the middle. It is a bit dusty in spots. There are a few tiny, old bug or worm holes. The black finish is worn in spots mainly on top of the head. There are no breaks or repairs. Overall the piece is very sound. Antique African American Folk Art Burl Cherry Wood Brass Tacks Dog Head Cane
This hand crafted cane comes from an African American family in Cass County Michigan and is crafted from a natural form cherry limb with abstract dog head form. Natural burl figuring and hand-used–polished surface. It dates from the late 1800s-very early 1900s and measures 35 ½” tall x 4 5/8” across the handle and was apparently used by a left handed man based on the wear and use. The dog head-like image is enhanced by an old shrinkage crack that forms the mouth and there is a copper tack monogram JDB near the handle. The shaft shows areas of shrinkage and checking suggesting the cane was crafted and used green. It is absolutely untouched and un-enhanced with dry surface and verdigris to the copper tacks and brass pipe section ferule. It is sturdy and usable. African Mask Wooden Carving Tribal Art Antique Primitive Wall Statue
Up for your consideration is an African wooden hand carved mask. I acquired this at an estate and have no knowledge of origin or age. I can say that the wood appears very old and as the pictures depict there is some splitting in the wood but the splits are not all the way through and therefore the mask is very sound. The paint is appears original and is very old as well. It is approximately 11.5 inches in length and approximately 5.5 inches in width. Please check my feed back. Please ask questions. Thank you.

The owner is now in a nursing home in her 90's. Welcome to my listing and page. I have the following item for sale thats a very nice used/preowned item.This piece would make a very nice item to add to someone's collection or put it to use. It's in nice condition/shape and it's a used/preowned item it's not new. The color's on them: dark brown/light brown.There are no decal/sticker's on this but it does both have normal wear for a used item it's not new nor perfect it is a used item. Vintage Antique? African Art Mende Bundu Mask Poro Secret Society Women
Only mask worn by Women in Africa! Super Rare HTF! During tribe ceremonies women wear Bundu masks to symbolize the beauty of the female body and represent an ancestor of the tribe. These masks are typically of one hollowed out piece of wood with detailed carvings(this one is) The facial features are finely carved with folds on the neck area representing wealth and health. The surface of these mask are usually of blackened finish which this is. This mask has some minor chips and scrapes. Worn areas, but overall condition is very good for its old age. It is bought as is and is considered a used piece. Similar masks go from 600-800 but this is priced lower for a quicker sale. Beautiful piece HTF and rare in this condition.
