Braided Sansevieria cylindrica Cylindrical Snake Plant African Spear 5 per pot
This sale is for the ones in the picture. S. cylindrica has striped. Round leaves that are smooth and a green-gray color. A single leaf is about 3 cm(1 in) thick and grows to a height between 1 m(3 ft) and 2 m(7 ft) The Spear Sansevieria grows fan-shaped. With its stiff leaves growing from a basal rosette. The species is interesting in having rounded instead of strap-shaped leaves caused by a failure to express genes which would cause the cylindrical bud to differentiate dorsoventrally or produce a distinctive and familiar top and bottom surface to the leaf blade. The 3 cm(1 in) greenish-white tubular flowers are tinged with pink. The species is drought-tolerant and in captivity needs water only about once every other week during the breeding season. It is popular as an ornamental plant as it is easy to culture and take care of in a home. ... moreShipping is usps priority mail Powered by

Antique African Metal Statue - Horse And Rider With Spear - Bronze colored
My Grandfather purchased this proud African warrior and his steed in Nigeria- circa 1960. It is made of a heavy. Bronze-colored metal. I'm no metallurgist, but this is a solid piece. One of the coolest features of this piece is that the rider detaches from the horse. The detail is amazing- his hand even fits around a protrusion of the horse's reins. The statue(both pieces combined) is 10" high. 8" long, and 3 1/2" wide. When separated, the rider is 6" x 3 1/2" x 2" and the horse is 10" x 8" x 2" Posted with

Bamana Ritual Spear with Female Figure on Top Iron African
Title, Bamana Ritual Spear with Female Figure Forged iron African, Type of Object, Figural Ritual Spear, Country of Origin, Mali, People, Bamana, Materials, Iron, Approximate Age, mid 20th century or earlier, Dimensions, 24 inches H. Overall Condition, Fair Damage/Repair, Rusted surface, Additional Information: An interesting example of the Bamana blacksmith's ceremonial spear forged with a standing female figure on the top. This is a ritual object showing good age and extensive exposure to the elements. This forged iron spear shares the long tradition of figurative iron. Bronze, and brass casting in the Western Sudan reaching back to the period of the great Empire of Mali as early as the 12 th century. With a standing figure o the top. This spear demonstrates the technical skill of the metal caster in developing a form that is sculpturally ... moredescriptive as well as reflecting the artist’s ability to project great power in a relatively small metal figure. The style of this figure is close to present day Bamana or Dogon sculptures. Overall this could be a work from a Bamana blacksmith. The genesis of the Bamana as a definable culture can be traced back to the 17th century. Though archaeological evidence hints that they could be much older. They are of Mandinke origin and today are the largest culture in Mali. The zenith of Bamana culture occured during the late 18th century during the reign of N'golo Diara, who conquered the Peul tribe and occupied the important cities of Timbuktu and Djenne. They remained powerful until conquered by the French in 1892. Recently, like many African cultures, they have been affected by Islamic settlers from the east. Though they still consider themselves animists, many villagers now practice a hybrid combination of both"religions. This has allowed these competing cultures to coexist peacefully. 82470* All content. Including pictures, Copyright Africa Direct Inc. 2006 Add Us To Your Favorite Sellers! Africa Direct. NICE AFRICAN/SUDANESE SHORT STABBING SPEAR ORIGINAL 19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE
DURING THE MAHDIST WAR OF 1885 THE BRITISH FOUGHT THE FOLLOWERS OF THE"MAD MAHDI" IN THE SUDAN. THEY WERE KNOWN AS THE WHIRLING DERVISH AS THEY WOULD DANCE IN A TRANCE WITH THEIR BILLOWING ROBES FANNING OUT IN A CIRCLE. THEIR WEAPONS WERE VERY DISTINCTIVE AND ENCOMPASS A VERY WIDE RANGE. THIS IS A SHORT THRUSTING SPEAR. 29 INCHES(74CM) IN OVERALL LENGTH WITH IRON HEAD AND BASE PIECE. THE HAFT IS COVERED IN LEATHER WITH COLOURED LACING WHICH IS TYPICAL OF MADHIST WEAPONS. THE LEAF SHAPED BLADE HAS THE EDGE DELINEATED WITH PARALLEL LINE WORK. GOOD CONDITION AS SHOWN IN PICTURES. BLADE IS SECURE. THE SPEAR WAS BOUGHT BY ME FROM A REPUTABLE AMERICAN COLLECTOR SEVERAL YEARS AGO.
Ebony Wood Hand Carved Statue of an African Maasai Warrior Holding a Spear
EBONY WOODEN CARVED AFRICAN MAASAI(sometimes mistakenly spelled Masai or Massai) WARRIOR WITH SPEAR. TANZANIA The carving leans slightly to the side naturally and has no warping. The spear tip is quite pointy and may puncture the skin if enough force is applied(be careful to keep away from young children) The carving itself has little to no scratches or nicks. And you can see where the carver's carving knife left behind fine marks while working the wood. Quite beautiful. No breaks or splitting of the wood are visible and overall, the carving is in good condition. The carving has no engraving. Stamp, print or stickers signifying the name of the carver. The statue is made of Ebony wood(the photos levels have been enhanced to bring out more surface texture so you can see the carving's details. However the actual statue is a good bit ... moredarker) The carving of an attractive young male African Maasai warrior holding a spear(We know this is a boy or young man and not a woman because women are not permitted to become Maasai warriors to this day) The base upon which the figure stands upright is fairly narrow. And as the height of this statue is just over twelve inches it may fall over easily if it or the table/shelf it is standing on is bumped or knocked, thus it is recommended that it be secured to a wooden, metal or other type of base-plate(perhaps with carpenter's wood glue or by using a small drill bit and a screw) Very nice piece to enhance a room's cultural motif and add authenticity to the decor. A nice keepsake Measurements approx. 13 3/4"H x 2 1/2"W x 1 1/2"D. Weight: 0.60 lbs"AS IS" POLICY: please read all before you bid. I AM SORRY AS THIS DISCLAIMER IS BORING BUT YOU NEED TO READ IT. Topoke Spear Currency DR Congo African SALE Was $225
Title, Topoke Spear Currency Linganda or Doa African, Type of Object, Currency, Country of Origin, DR Congo, People, Topoke, Materials, Iron, Approximate Age, Early to mid 20th century, Dimensions, 57.5 inches x 10.5 inches, Overall Condition, Poor to fair. Most of our pieces have spent decades on at least two continents. And have been treasured by several owners.  Small splits, scrapes and cracks are a normal part of their patina attesting to their age and extensive use. We examine each piece carefully when we receive it and report any damage we find in our listings. Please look carefully at the pictures which may also reveal condition and damage. Damage/Repair, Some oxidation on the surface. Rusted surface, chips at edges, bent in places. Additional Information: Large forged blades such as this in the shape of a ... morespear point were well used into the middle of the 20th century as currency and during marriage ceremonies. They are known under several names: dihunga(for small examples) doa(for larger examples) Other names are: Linganda and Ngbele. During marriage ceremonies up to 60 doa might be exchanged for the bride. These were specially shaped to look like spear points but were too thin and long to serve as such. These unique currency forms were well worked and were often embellished with a number of parallel lines close to the edges. The surface of this currency shows some age. This may be an early or mid 20th century example. It comes from the Topoke people who live in the Equatorial region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. For more information and similar examples see: Roberto Ballarini. Black Africa's Traditional Arms, Africa Curios, Milano, 1992, figs, 66a-66b, pp. 106-107 I have examined this piece and agree with the description. Niangi Batulukisi. PhD. 78527* All content. Antique African Daggers Knives Spear Tip
Collection of 3 antique African blades. All three blades are rusty. The first dagger is very pretty. Small and slim it is nicely balanced. Highly decorated leather sheath and handle. The blade seems to have a coppery-green patina but I don't know what metal it is. The dagger missing it's handle is very sharp. You can see the close up photo of where the wood broke off inside the neck. There is some etching on the neck. It fits in sheath very snuggly. Forged spear tip measures 8 1/4" long. di,RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%601d72f%2Bishhov%3C%3Edi-144a2e79901-0x10a-

CARVED WOOD AFRICAN NATIVE SPEAR
CARVED WOODEN NATIVE AFRICAN SPEAR DETAILED WITH BLACK AND RED STAIN
Rare Hard Wood War Spear From A Oceanic/African Tribe
I BOUGHT THIS RARE HARD WOOD WAR SPEAR IN AN ESTATE AUCTION OF AN AVID COLLECTOR OF PRIMITIVE WEAPONS. I WAS TOLD THIS IS A GENUINE TRIBAL WAR SPEAR. WHAT MAKE THIS SET SO UNIQUE ARE THAT: 1) THIS SPEAR WAS MADE OF HEAVY AND HARD WOOD WITHOUT METAL. WHICH MAY INDICATE THAT IT IS AN EARLY FORM SPEAR WHEN METAL WAS SCARE TO NATIVE PEOPLE. 2) THERE ARE TWO SET OF SHARP SPIKES INSTEAD OF ONE IN MOST OF SPEARS. 3) THE BODY OF THE SPEAR WAS DECORATED BY SURROUNDING THREE SET OF RED FIBRICS. WHICH TIES BIRD FEATHERS. YOU CAN SEE THERE ARE STILL A FEW FEATHERS AND THEIR RESIDUES LEFT UNDER THESE FABRICS. 4) THIS SPEAR PROBABLY WAS MADE AS A THROWING SPEAR SINCE ONE SIDE OF IT IS FLAT. WHICH CAN INCREASE ITS CONTACT TO A SPEAR THROWER. SECOND, IT IS RELATIVE SHORT LENGTH 51" THIRD, IT USED TO CONTAIN FEATHERS, WHICH MAY BALANCE THE FLYING. I ... moreAM QUITE SURE THIS TRIBAL WAR SPEAR WERE MADE FOR USING BY NATIVE PEOPLE. NOT FOR TOURISTS. I HAVE NOT FOUND VERY SIMILAR SPEARS DURING MY RESEARCH. I SUSPECT THE ORIGIN OF THIS SPEAR IS MORE FROM OCEANIC ISLANDS ALTHOUGH I CAN NOT EXCLUDE AFRICAN CONTINENTAL. IF ANY EBAYER KNOWS MORE ABOUT IT, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. ANYWAY. THIS SPEAR HAS CONTAINS ALL ELEMENTS THAT PRIMITIVE ART/WEAPON COLLECTORS ARE LOOKING FOR: GENUINE, NATIVE CULTURE, PRIMITIVE WORKMANSHIP, ET AL. LENGTH: 51" PREASE EMAIL ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. THANK YOU FOR VISITING MY AUCTION.
African Loop Dagger Niger(?) Knife Spear Sword Axe Vintage Old
This is. To my knowledge, an African loop dagger, from Niger. There is one pictured in Christopher Spring's'African Arms and Armour' on pg. 43. It's similarity lies in the loop handle, and the basic design, the dagger pictured has a much different blade. There are lines incised in the handle on one side only, I can only assume that this is meant to be the top, otherwise they would not be seen. OAL-15 3/4" Handle-3 3/4" Blade-12" Handle inside dimension is 1 1/2" blade width at ricasso is 2 1/8" Blade at the tip is 1/4" Weight is approx. 2 lbs. See above and pictures for condition. Check out my other listings, and I will combine shipping where I can. Thanks for looking!

Vintage AFRICAN Tribal Folk Art Carved Wood Statue Sculpture Warrior Spear Ebony
VINTAGE Hand Carved Dark Wood Warrior Man Boy Sculpture Carving Figurine Statue This intricately hand carved wooden warrior man/ boy is truly a piece of art and a RARE find. He is carved right onto his stand and is wearing a skirt. Holding a spear and his right hand is on his heart. He measures approx. 12"H x 4.75"w(at it's tallest and widest points) weighs approx. 2lbs 7oz. We believe it is carved from ebony wood from it's characteristics of being a hard wood and a black color. Ebony is an exceptionally hard, very dense, fine textured and beautiful black wood. It has a very smooth finish when polished, making it valuable as an ornamental wood. Ebony wood is subject to drying and cracking, just like any other type of wood. The sculpture's details lead us to believe it may possibly be a"Makonde Carving" The ... moreMakonde tribe is from Tanzania(East Africa) The tip of the spear is rough and may have been chipped off(see pics) There is some natural cracking going on from it's age and some scractches which look to be from when it was carved(see pics) This doesn't take away from the beauty of this piece. We are not experts on these carvings. But we try our best to explain what we see. This is great for the collector or it would make a great gift! Buying vintage allows you to own a piece of history. Please check out our other vintage African carvings. MINT Vintage Condition! Images are of actual items. Be sure to review sizes. Because sometimes the item appears larger than it actually is. AFRICAN WALL HANGING, BLACK, RED, GREEN, WHITE STRIPES WITH SHIELD AND SPEAR
THIS IS A WALL HANGING OR THROW THAT APPEARS TO BE A SOUVENIR TEXTILE FROM SOMEWHERE IN AFRICA. THE DESIGN CONSISTS OF BLACK. WHITE, RED AND GREEN VERTICAL BANDS, FRINGED AT BOTH EDGES. ABOUT 13 INCHES FROM EACH EDGE IS A SHIELD WITH TWO SPEARS CROSSED BEHIND IT. THE DESIGN IS THE SAME ON BOTH SIDES, BUT THE REVERSE SIDE IS SOMEWHAT LIGHTER. THE FABRIC FEELS LIKE A VERY LIGHT-WEIGHT COTTON BLEND, SO I WOULD SUGGEST THAT IT BE HAND-WASHED, AND COOL-IRONED, IF NECESSARY. IT MEASURES 43 X 60, NOT INCLUDING THE 1-AND-1/2-INCH FRINGE. IT IS CLEAN AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, DOES NOT APPEAR TO EVER HAVE BEEN USED, JUST A LITTLE WRINKLED FROM STORAGE. PLEASE SEE MY OTHER LISTINGS FOR MORE INTERESTING ITEMS. I AM HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS AND PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PHOTOS. I WILL COMBINE SHIPPING WITH PURCHASE OF MORE THAN ONE ITEM.
