Vintage African Wart Hog Tusks- TwoTusks- 7 1/2" 7" long can be used for knife handles. Decorations, necklaces, etc. They were purchased by a friend of mind from an estate auction sale in Virginia. The previous owner was a police officer and a hunter who had these items for many years, but it is unknown as where he purchased them or even may have hunted hogs long ago in Africa. The measurements are from the outside. Top curve of each tusk. Also, each tusk is approx. 3 inches or slightly thicker around the middle of each. Both tusks do show chips, cracks and yellowing as proof of their age. The total weight together is 179 grams or 5.75 troy ounces. Hand Made African Tribal Knife with a Fringed Red & White Leather Sheath
Up for auction is an antique decorative knife that I bought in Kenya in 1992. It has a fixed 6 1/2" blade. And measures 10 1/2" from handle to tip. Total length is 14 1/2" including fringe. The sheath is wrapped in a red& white leather. And features red& green leather fringe tassels. There are a few small scuff marks on the handle. They're close to the blade, but can be clearly seen in the photos. The blade has some unusual markings stamped/carved on both sides, and is in fair condition with a few small signs of surface rust. I have cleaned the blade as best I could, and the condition can clearly be seen from the photos. The blade does fit very tight within the sheath, and needs to be firmly wiggled back and forth to be removed. This isn't a problem if it's used for decoration. Otherwise. This is a beautiful, ... morewell-made knife with no wobble in the blade, loose threads, or odor to the leather. Perfect for anyone interested in African artifacts, or avid knife collector. The sheath is well made with edges nicely secured with plaited vegetal fiber works. On one side of the sheath there are cowrie shells sewn onto the leather and a bone. The knife blade fits into a hole carved in the wood and it has loosened over thears and will have to be made secure again. This is all set in a wooden case made for the set. Top comes off of the case and can be used as for display. The bow itself is made out of 1 piece of bamboo. Bound to the bow at the center(which aids as a grip) is a bamboo quiver to hold the arrows. This is bound to the bow with twine and straps. The bowstring is made of twisted string/twine. Comes with 1 bamboo arrow. Antique African artifact 1890s Bushoong Clan Kuba peoples knife. Dagger, and hide Sheath. We are very pleased to be able to offer for your consideration this very interesting African tribal artifact. This large knife and smaller dagger is attribute to the Bushoong clan of the Kuba peoples of central African Congo. The sheath is made of animal hide. And reed. The larger of the two blades is a hand wrought, hammered, blade, it has a carved wooded handle. The carved wood handle is approximately 5 5/8 inches long, The unusually shaped, full tang blade is flat, double edged, with 3 hammered fullers running from tang to the bottom edge. This blade is approximately 15 1/2 inch long. 3 1/8 inches in width at the top, and 4 inches at the bottom. Each edge is a gracefully concave. The Shape of the sheath mirrors the shape of the blade. The accompanying ... moredagger is 8 1/8 inches overall, the carved wood handle is approximately 2 7/8 inches long, the double edged, hand wrought, hammered blade is approximately 15/16 inches wide at the hilt and 5 5/8 inches in length. This beautiful traditional African set of knives and sheath comes with a custom made display stand. Condition- The artifact is in very good condition. The only issue I can see is one tip of the small dagger hilt looks to have been chipped away. This African artifact is very collectable on so many levels. It will appeal to knife collectors. African Dayak Headhunters Knife Manday Tribe
Up for bid is an authentic African Dayak Headhunters knife. I believe it is from the Manday tribe. But cannot verify that. The overall length is 26 1/4" when it is in the sheath. The knife and blade alone is 22 1/2" The sheath and the knife handle are both beautifully hand carved. Attached to the back of the sheath is a smaller sheath that holds a smaller wooden spear with a metal blade. The overall length of the small spear is 13 1/2" and the blade is 3" long. There is also a hand woven shoulder strap attached to the large sheath. This is 100% authentic and although I don't know the exact age I would guess it to be from the 40's or 50's. Posted with

Each of these measure between 13-1/2" to 14" Each face of the utensil with unique character, all individual faces. All have wire wrapped around the neck according to African culture. This does not show much signs of wear except the knife and spoon are cracked. This blade is made out of forged iron and shows signs ... moreof long use and old age. Among the Akan knives of different shapes and complexity serve ceremonial. Ritual and political purposes. European visitors commented upon swords as early as the mid-1600's. They are primarily ceremonial and parade swords for they have neither point nor cutting edge. Swords(afena or afenatene) are prominently displayed at royal courts as regalia of the king reflecting his power and authority.
