All hinges were copper plated and finished with black lacquer(Japanned) and surprisingly, much of the plating and finish remain! At the point of salvage. The hinges were dirty and rusty(see last photo) Much time was spent loosening the pins and cleaning each part. However, the hard work was worth it because now, they look great and operate smoothly! They are also in excellent condition. With only the subtle nicks and scratches that you would expect to find on old, used, door hardware. However, there are no breaks, cracks, chips, or gouges.
