Sturdy, and in good condition, there a few minor issues: The door shown on the left in the first photo has a break located on the upper right hand corner; there is also a break on the lower left hand side; a 7" portion of stop molding is chipped; there is also a small break where the strike plate would go. The door shown on the right in the first photo has a tiny chip on the upper left hand. Interior corner and the vertical, stop molding, which runs along the lock stile edge, has a small break in it. Most of the hardware needs to be replaced. It does have the original backplate. The glass is flat. Not beveled, so is probably not original. They measure 43.75 inches wide together. These doors are in very good shape with only surface scrapes, scratches, small nail holes-minor cosmetic blemishes which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted. Quirks& Considerations: The the height of the door was unevenly cut by approx. 5/8" and the width was unevenly cut by approx. 1/4" at some point. The cuts were most likely made to accommodate for an old warped floor or settling foundation. We can square the doors. Cut them down or even build them up, Email us for a quote. Incredible Antique 19th Century Pine Gothic Arch Church Doors
Up for auction is this rare matching set of 1800's pine church doors. Made of solid pine. These doors have been refinished at some point. Please check photos for condition. There is some small chipping at base.Refer to photo 2& on opposite side there is one small piece of trim missing and a piece missing at base of top panels, refer to photo 5. All easy fixes if you are a wood worker. These are pick up only due to size. I am north of Kingston Ontario, but can meet part way for pick up if you have to travel a distance. Sturdy. Antique, interior doors salvaged from old homes in Northeastern Ohio. The doors are made of solid Douglas Fir or pine, and each has a Victorian style, 4 raised panel arrangement. When most people hear"pine" they think of a cheap. Weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10- 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much ... moreharder and stronger than young pine. Hardware: The doors are not equipped with any hardware. However. We have a good selection of period hardware to outfit any of these doors(check out our eBay store) If you would like any of the hardware holes patched with a solid block of wood.
