Each door has a solid pine core covered with 1/16" Birch veneers. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/16" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. When most people hear"pine" they think of a cheap. Weak, soft wood. New ... morepine hewn from 10- 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Hardware: The door is currently not equipped with any hardware. If you would like to add any hardware. One pair of sliding antique pocket doors that came out of a very old house. There are rollers on the top of the doors. But one roller snapped off in transit and one is bent. There are 4 rollers included with the doors, 2 for each door. The doors are old and have great character and charm. They just don't make doors like this any more. They will need just a little TLC to bring them back to their beautiful glory. I'm not sure what type of wood they are made of, but I don't think it is oak- maybe mahogany. They are very heavy doors. 2 Antique Turn-of-Century Doors Interior Exterior 6 Pane Solid Wood Brass Hinges
For your consideration: FREE SHIPPING: For local pickup only. Two vintage doors and some vintage door hardware for one sale. These items came from a lake house my daughter renovated. A kind ebayer with knowledge of these types of knobs and locks offered that the glass pane door may be from circa 1900-1910. The first is an exterior door and been painted green on one side and is natural or stained on the other. It has one half of the hinge unit still attached and the other is gone. It is solid wood with 6 glass panes measuring approx. 6 ¾” x 16” and the dimensions of the door are approx. 79 ¼” tall x 30 ½” wide x 1 5/16” thick. It could use a slight amount of repair and perhaps refinishing but appears to be rock solid. The brass knob hardware works fine from both sides but there is no skeleton key. The second is an interior 2 ... morepanel door and is natural or stained on both sides. All brass hinge assemblies are there for both on the door and jamb sides It also is solid wood measuring approx. 78” tall x 32” wide x 1 5/16” thick. It could use a slight amount of repair at the bottom left of one side but this appears superficial. You could also refinish it if you wish. It also appears to be a heavy and nice old door. The brass knob hardware works fine from both sides but there is no skeleton key for this door either. Finally. A group of brass hinge hardware that you can analyze from the photos and please use the zoom feature to see hem closely. It appears there are two sets complete with pins and 2 jamb side only with only 1 pin. Because of their age. Obviously I cannot detail every single characteristic good or bad of these doors so please be ready to accept them as-is upon pickup. However. I believe the doors look so much better in person than the photos can depict, and if you are not completely sure if they will work for your improvement project, I will offer a no-risk evaluation. VINTAGE SOLID WOOD FRENCH DOORS C1920s ORIGINAL BRASS HARDWARE 60" x 81-1/2"
VINTAGE SOLID HARDWOOD FRENCH DOORS SIZE: 60" X 81-1/2" ORIGINAL BRASS HARDWARE Offered are a pair of vintage solid hardwood French doors circa 1920s being sold as is. I believe these may be Walnut. But I am not a wood expert. This set measures approximately 60" x 81-1/2" The door thickness is approximately 1-3/4" Each door weighs approximately 52 pounds. All of the original brass hardware is included but the hinges are missing. I have taken photos of the both the fronts and backs of these beautiful doors as well as some pictures at different angles. Pictures of the hardware is also included. As you can see from the pictures. EACH French door has four rows of 3 glass window panes across, or 12 glass window panes- none of the panes are cracked or broken. Each glass pane measures approximately 5" wide by 13-3/4" ... morelong. The measurement from the bottom of the door to the trim of the lowest row of glass is approximately 16-1/4" All of the original brass hardware is included, and photos include pictures of the door knobs, striker plate, and the mortise locking mechanisms. The varnish on the doors does show signs of crazing, which is to be expected for the age of these doors. In my opinion, this is a very beautiful set of French doors.
