34x83x1.75 Antique Oak Heartpine Wood Victorian Entry Exterior Door Window Panel
Penn Antique Restoration. 34"x83"x1.75" Antique Victorian Entry Door w/Window& 2 Panels. Distressed. Antique, exterior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The door has a solid pine core covered with 1/4" thick, quatersawn oak veneers on the exterior side, and 1/4" thick heartpine veneers on the interior side. The door is painted on both sides. Please note that heartpine is the non-living. Core of a pine tree, and not the soft, outer, living sap-wood. Since it takes 30 years for a pine tree just to develop just 1” of heart stock it is rarer, harder, more durable, more insect& rot resistant, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and is much more valuable than the cheap, pine lumber that is commonly found at most hardware stores. Also, please don't think that"veneer" ... moremeans inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/4" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. The door could be sanded and refinished several times before the door would need to be re-veneered. The door has a lhalf-length window. On the exterior side. There is a stepped ledge with carved motif below the window. Also notice the beautiful applied molding around the 2, raised panels below-nice accents! Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. Most of the lock stile's veneer is intact, and the partially broken portions could be replaced.

The door has a solid, ash core covered with 1/16" thick, ash veneers. Ash is a hardwood that looks very similar to Oak. The door is finished on one side and painted on the other. There are 6, horizontal, recessed panels on both sides of the door. Also, please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are almost 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. There are globs of dried paint stripper on the painted side of the door. And some of the globs on the lower portion have some mold. The globs are not positioned in a logical pattern, and they seem ... morelike the got onto the door by accident. The globs and mold are very easy to remove, and pose no threat to the door whatsoever; we only mentioned this to you so there is no confusion about what the dark spots are. Hardware: The door is equipped with a spring-loaded. Double-action, floor-mounted hinge in the lower, hinge stile corner, and a pivot hinge in the upper corner. The spring-loaded hinge is functional. But whether or not the spring is strong enough to swing the door back and forth will be unknown until installed. There are no push plates or pulls/handles, but we have some in our eBay store. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/16" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. On the interior side of the door. The edge of the lock stile is missing a strip of wood; and the bottom piece of molding connected to the window is cracked. Otherwise. This door is in very good shape with only surface scrapes, scratches, small nail holes-minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted. Antique Set of 3 folding oak doors 5 panel
This is a SET OF THREE MATCHING 5 PANEL OAK DOORS HINGED TOGETHER. Two of the doors measure approx. 27 3/4 inches each and one measures approx. 28 inches for a total opening of approx. 84 inches or 7 feet. All have the original finish and hinges but one hinge is misding. Overall condition is very good with just some minor wood chipping at the bottom. The lock box for the doorknobs is there but the knows and plates are missing. I may have these available for separate purchase. These are part of several of the same style doors from one building. These were originally the interior panels surrounding a pair of French doors in a Stylish 1930s Town House in Toulouse. Each panel is in 2 parts and features a classic 1920s/30s Art Deco Bouquet of Flowers Featuring Roses amongst others in a basket. The detailing as can be seen is beautiful. There are as usual the odd areas of wear and a few small flaws here and there but nothing that detract from their beauty. They have a lovely Patina and have been waxed with beeswax to preserve their finish. Each panel measures approx. 16 3/4" wide x 21" tall.
