The majority ... moreof the doors range around 100 years old. Some may have some more modern pieces on them from people using the barns throughout the time frame until deconstruction. The size of the door is 1-1/8"thick x 72-1/4"long x 35-1/4"wide, that is not counting the stretcher boards holding the door together, counting them the door will about double in thickness. Some doors are more unique than others, some have the rusty strap hinges on them, others have the antique wooden slides to lock and open the door, and some just have some unique accessories on them, I would recommend looking and zooming in at the pictures to see the great detail and the unique characteristics of each door. The doors have been kiln dried. There is a picture of the front, back and a close up of the wood as well. The doors would have to be freighted out or picked up locally. Soft wood; please keep in mind that the wood milled from modern pine trees, which only grow for a few decades before they are cut down, is not the same quality as the wood that was milled by our forefathers from trees that were hundreds of years old. This door was built using the wood from mature pine trees, and exhibits the qualities of wood that has endured the test of time. As a result, it's physically harder, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and more insect and rot resistant than today's pine lumber. Each door is made of solid chestnut and has 1 half-length window with 2 horizontal, recessed panels underneath. Also note that chestnut is a rare and valuable wood; it’s not commercially available due to the blight introduced between 1900& 1908. Which made the North American chestnut trees virtually extinct by 1940. Hardware: Besides 1 flushbolt. The doors are not equipped with hardware. However. PA, and they completely reworked them! They took out all of the glass from the lites and separated the old pieces from the new. They replaced all of the new pieces, with old pieces(many of which are no longer commercially available) and then encased them in a new, leaded skeleton. The work took weeks and cost over $900! The door is made of solid Pine and features 15 glass lites. When we received this door. It was missing several pieces of glass and molding. New pine hewn from 10- 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have.
