Penn Antique Restoration. 36"x90" Antique Exterior Douglas Fir w/ 1 Large Window. Beautiful. Antique exterior door salvaged from an old home in Minnesota. The door is made of solid Douglas fir and has 1 large window. The door was in a fire. Which caused the paint to bubble and harden on the exterior. Unfortunately. No glass lite is installed. We could order a new glass lite(i.e. beveled. Tempered, leaded, stained, etc. and install it- email us for a quote. Hardware: The door is currently not equipped with any hardware. However. W e have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store. And tons more in our physical store. If you would like any of the hardware holes patched with a solid block of wood.see"Modification" below. Condition: On the exterior. There are a few scratches around the lock housing. Two pieces of ... moremolding are missing. The edge of the hinge stile is chipped. The top of the hinge stile is chipped. On the interior, the top hinge mortise has a loose strip of wood and is chipped. The middle and bottom hinge mortises are both chipped and missing a strip of wood. The bottom hinge stile is chipped. The bottom and top of the lock stile are both chipped. Otherwise. The door is strong, sturdy, and in great shape with only surface scrapes, scratches, small nail holes-minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine and is painted with an unusual, yellow-orange"faux wood grain finish" on both sides. There are 2, vertical, textured glass lites with 2 raised panels below. Each lite has a different textured pattern(one floral and one swirly) which most likely means that one lite was replaced. It's hard to tell which is the original lite as both lites are old, and both patterns are no longer in production. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir, and is finished on one side and painted blue on the other. There are 5 raised panels on both sides of the door. Notice the chamfered(routed) edges with lark's tongue detail bordering every panel-what great Victorian style details! The door was converted at some point into a"swinging door. which means that it was installed with a spring-loaded, pivot hinge installed in it's bottom corner, and swung both forward and backward like a saloon style door. The door no longer has it's pivot hinge or push plates. However, just because it was used as a swinging door, doesn't mean that you have to.
