Up for auction is a beautiful 5 panel door that was between the kitchen and dining room of my home that was built in 1912. It has a gorgeous woodgrain pattern. I assume it to be oak. But I am not expert enough to verify that. I have included several pics to show the pattern. It is approximately 79" tall, 29.5" wide and 1&3/8" thick and weighs 50 lbs. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine and has 5 raised panels. If you think that pine is a weak. Soft wood; please keep in mind that the wood milled from modern pine trees, which only grow for a few decades before they are cut down, is not the same quality as the wood that was milled by our forefathers from trees that were hundreds of years old. This door was built using the wood from mature pine trees, and exhibits the qualities of wood that has endured the test of time. As a result, it's physically harder, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and more insect and rot resistant than today's pine lumber. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware.
