Came from the same beautiful home(see photo) they have opposite swings(one swings to the right and the other to the left) and could be easily converted into a pair. We could plug the lockset holes on one of the doors for $40 and we could make an astragal(stop molding; the long, wide vertical molding, which overhangs on the inner edges of one of the doors and covers the gap where the 2 doors meet) for $25- $50. VINTAGE SOLID WOOD INTERIOR FRENCH DOORS - lot of 4 - from 1920's
These four French doors are from my colonial house in Spring Glen In Hamden. CT built in 1928. Original doors from when the house was built. They have been stored in my basement for 25 years. Three of the doors are 30" wide by 80" long. They are almost 2" thick. The 4th door was cut at one time or another. The fourth door measures approximately 80" x 30" and is about 1 1/2" thick. I am unsure of the type of wood. From looking at others I think they are maple because that was the wood used in that time period but, again, I am not 100% sure. Local pick-up is in Cheshire, CT. A kind ebayer with knowledge of these types of knobs and locks offered that the glass pane door may be from circa 1900-1910. The first is an exterior door and been painted green on one side and is natural or stained on the other. It has one half of the hinge unit still attached and the other is gone. It is solid wood with 6 glass panes measuring approx. 6 ¾” x 16” and the dimensions of the door are approx. 79 ¼” tall x 30 ½” wide x 1 5/16” thick. It could use a slight amount of repair and perhaps refinishing but appears to be rock solid. The brass knob hardware works fine from both sides but there is no skeleton key. The second is an interior 2 ... morepanel door and is natural or stained on both sides. All brass hinge assemblies are there for both on the door and jamb sides It also is solid wood measuring approx. 78” tall x 32” wide x 1 5/16” thick. It could use a slight amount of repair at the bottom left of one side but this appears superficial. You could also refinish it if you wish. It also appears to be a heavy and nice old door. The brass knob hardware works fine from both sides but there is no skeleton key for this door either. Finally.
