The door is made of solid, old pine and is painted white one side and finished on the other. If you think that pine is a weak. Soft wood; please keep in mind that the wood milled from modern pine trees, which only grow for a few decades before they are cut down, is not the same quality as the wood that was milled by our forefathers from trees that were hundreds of years old. This door was built using the wood from mature pine trees, and exhibits the qualities of wood that has endured the test of time. As a result, it's physically harder, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and more insect and rot resistant than today's pine lumber. The door has 5. And used the door as a standard, swinging door for one of the apartments in his building. Also note that chestnut is a rare and valuable wood; it’s not commercially available due to the blight introduced between 1900& 1908. Antique Set of 3 folding oak doors 5 panel
This is a SET OF THREE MATCHING 5 PANEL OAK DOORS HINGED TOGETHER. Two of the doors measure approx. 27 3/4 inches each and one measures approx. 28 inches for a total opening of approx. 84 inches or 7 feet. All have the original finish and hinges but one hinge is misding. Overall condition is very good with just some minor wood chipping at the bottom. The lock box for the doorknobs is there but the knows and plates are missing. I may have these available for separate purchase. These are part of several of the same style doors from one building. Penn Antique Restoration. 31.5"x89" Antique Victorian Swinging Door w/5 Panels. Magnificent. Antique, interior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir, and is finished on one side and painted blue on the other. There are 5 raised panels on both sides of the door. Notice the chamfered(routed) edges with lark's tongue detail bordering every panel-what great Victorian style details! The door was converted at some point into a"swinging door. which means that it was installed with a spring-loaded, pivot hinge installed in it's bottom corner, and swung both forward and backward like a saloon style door. The door no longer has it's pivot hinge or push plates. However, just because it was used as a swinging door, doesn't mean that you have to. We could cut off the rounded ... moresides and trim the door to 30"W, or we could cut and then add to the sides to widen it to 32" or wider. We could also cut the height of the door to just above of the area where the hinge was installed(which would make the door 87 3/4" Or if you need the height or need it taller, we could plug the mortised area and even add to it. The smallest door is a swinging door. It does have a cut out at the bottom where the hardware was to attach it to the floor. It also has a hole in the top edge of the door for the pin that held the top in place. It is missing it's hardware accept the doorknob plate. Up for auction is a vintage interior wooden five panel door. It has the original glass knobs still attached. It is a genuine piece of history waiting to be added to your décor. The hinges are not a complete set. One is missing one half. The glass knobs are very stricking. They are a complete set of knobs with one on each side of the door. The paint is in vintage shape for its age. You will see some scuffs and scrapes on the one side and the other has the bottom four panels down a different color. It appears something was in front of the door when the second coat of old paint was added many years ago. Along one edge of the door there is a crack that runs up the side. Here's a truly beautiful piece of architectural history for you. This is an oak veneer. Solid core, five panel interior door. This door was salvaged(by my Dad) from the in St. Louis. MO during the mid 1970's. This door measures approximately 31 11/16" wide by 83" tall by 2" thick with a 1/8" veneer. I believe the core is ash. The door weighs approximately 70lbs. This door has five recessed panels and it has been sandblasted to reveal a beautiful woodgrain. The door will look truly incredible when finished. No lock. Or knobs are included(at the moment) The lock cavity measures approximately 4 1/8" deep by 7/8" wide by 5 1/2" tall. The knob is placed ... moreapproximately 35 3/8" from the floor.
